LPDADDY Report post Posted December 23, 2009 Aram you must be running a bit short this Christmas I see you went for a cheap one Aram thank you very much for all the help with my watch. Honestly guys between Aram and Gil we have watches very well covered on LP, great guys with heaps of knowledge and experience. I will also add they had no financial interest in my watch but they did not hesitate to PM or email me info numerous times to help me along with my purchase, my hat goes off to them, decent guys are hard to come across, to be able to build relationships with people that you've never met, people that dedicate their free time to help you out not expecting anything in return is not short of amazing in my book, restores my faith in humanity! Thank you everyone for the nice comments, I enjoy wearing it, I can't seem to take the watch off my hand so I think I will be wearing it daily Just seeing your reaction to the watch you just purchased makes everything worthwhile. You are welcome. Again, congrats and enjoy in good health . I have a feeling you are hooked and it isn't necessarily a bad thing. VCR Report post Posted December 23, 2009 I have a feeling you are hooked and it isn't necessarily a bad thing. Sorry, but I would have to disagree and say it is a really bad thing! Congrats to you both again.

LPDADDY Report post Posted December 24, 2009 I know you are speaking from experience I promise I will keep it under $100k VCR makes a very valid point . Just like cars, watches are like a disease, an addiction that gradually gets worse and will be very hard to keep in check. It should not stop you from enjoying your present timepiece till you get the next itch .

It should not stop you from enjoying your present timepiece till you get the next itch . But unlike with cars, if you buy the right watch the right way then you often get your money back or even profit. What's better than a luxury good that is either free or pays you the enjoy it? Rawr Report post Posted December 24, 2009 Sorry if a silly question, but how scratch resistant are these APs? If I got a pricey watch I'd feel terrible about beating it up, and I know the way I live it would probably happen, is the glass easily replaceable? Thanks Fortis - those both are amazing picks, I'm drooling over either one, nice choice
Fortis Report post Posted December 24, 2009 sprite can answer that question Rawr, he wears his daily, at the end of the day I want to enjoy it and wear and tear is part of the fun, I am sure it can be repaired if it gets scratched. Pride of Russia is a very good looking watch, one day, I am taking baby steps

If I got a pricey watch I'd feel terrible about beating it up, and I know the way I live it would probably happen, is the glass easily replaceable? Thanks Fortis - those both are amazing picks, I'm drooling over either one, nice choice The glass is the least of your concerns as it can be replaced and does not scratch easily . I have never had to replace the glass on any of my ROO's. The RO line is very sturdy and will take a lot of abuse but if you are not carfeul you will hurt the finish . The SS AND titanium will take a lot of abuse. The gold watches scratch easier but are also very solid. The good thing is AP will refinish any watch and they don't charge stupid money for it. The PVD coated ones are trickier and i don't recommend refinishing them as AP never seems to get the original finish back, in NA anyway. I don't know if it would be any different if the watch went back to Switzerland but i have no experience with that so i cannot comment.
