Leaning or leant to the SLR over the FGT - obviously a PPI is a must - any areas to be more aware of when dealing with an SLR purchase?

Do I put the car into a MB dealer for a PPI if the car is a non MB dealer car?

Heard the clutch has 3mm between good and bad...easy to check?

any tips or advice appreciated!!!!

wasnt the 3mm advice towards the CGT from your other thread?

CGT is significantly more money than both of those.

It also has a clutch issue (it has 3mm between good and gone) that makes maintenance very cost prohibited.

Clutch reference was regarding a Carrera GT, SLR doesn't have a clutch of any kind being an auto ;)

True it was a Carrera GT being refereed to,

False that automatics don't have clutches.

oh ok - good - any other parts that I should pay closer attention to?

Id bring it to a Benz dealer to inspect. Especially brakes, the rear wing... Car is pretty bullet proof. Also you wanna make sure it was not jacked up incorrectly as the entire tub is carbon.

Hope to find one in the next week and get it in.

If anyone has any leads I`ll give them consideration. Ok with US car.

Black/Red or silver/red 06 is ideal.

donnie, Allan is correct check the brakes. Also you're in Canada so check the windshield and headlamp clusters for rock chips. The windshield is an obscene $10,000.00. Make sure the FSS (Flexible Service System) intervals are up-to-date. They go by mileage or time, whichever is shortest. It works out about once a year. They are several thousand dollars each time for fluids and such.

Make sure the service is done. Costs stupid money to do if the car has not been kept up . Also, brakes.FYI , visual is not good for inspection, they have to be weighed. If they are not ok get ready to get raped by MB. I would go aftermarket anyway but knock off 50k off the price of the car if brakes need t be one.

Wanna buy a 722? Mine is for sale. :icon_mrgreen:

Still under warranty

SLR's are pretty bulletproof, not long ago I got a ride in one and the mileage was 50k, the thing had no problems whatsoever (although I am sure they had regular maint.)
