The impossible search. Good luck finding nothing.

Here are all the US ones.

ZHWGU43N08LA06015 (black)

ZHWGU43N88LA06053 (gray)

ZHWGU43N18LA06315 (unknown)

ZHWGU43N08LA06323 (unknown)

ZHWGU43N58LA06804 (orange)

ZHWGU43N08LA06838 (gray)

ZHWGU43N28LA06890 (black)

Of those one gray ones is in Canada, the orange one was exported to Brazil, 4 have been ruined (IMO) by being twin turbo'd. There is possibly one last one left. It is rumored to be white, but I believe it's not.

The last one (stock) that sold was traded out of Sarasota Lambo. It was black. You could call them and they may be able to help you track down the car.

Woah only 7 stateside. I'm wondering what kind of premium these will have over egear SLs. Needle amongst needles.

Ironically in 2008 they couldn't give them away, everyone wanted E-gear. The Unicorn orange one sat and sat until it sold new for 180k. The last one available recently was sold by scaria for $150k with I think 14k miles and was sent to Dallas performance for it's ultimate demise to a twin turbo.

Are these numbers including LP570's, if not, were any made?

Can't say I have ever seen one for sale or in person.

There are four confirmed 6-speed manual LP570-4 SLs in the US: 2 black, 1 grey and 1 white. The white one has been TT'd.

There is also another rumored white one but this has yet to be confirmed.

Thanks for the info. Any chance you can get the last five digits of the VIN so we can determine whether it's a new SL to the list or if one of the ones we had has been TT'd?

  • 4 weeks later...

My friend in Ontario has an 11 VI, SL with 6 speed. I remember being shocked when I saw it as I didn't know they made one.

I think one of the reasons for so few 08 manuals is that you paid for the extra option charge for egear whether you selected it or not.

Also, there is a somewhat famous, Grigio 08 here in Houston that has been converted from egear to manaul. If you really must have a SL and manual, that is probably your best bet to get one.

Interesting topic.

I've just bought the arancio borealis manual SL, was a factory press car DG 191 JW as used in Top Gear.

I used to own it previously back in 2008 when it stopped being a press car but then sold it. Now I have it back!

It is absolutely standard apart from the small being having been replaced by the optional larger fixed wing, which I prefer.

I wonder how many were produced and are left worldwide?

> I wonder how many were produced and are left worldwide?

2008 SL production ran from ~05/2007 to ~02/2008

for the US market, the claim is "10 white + 34 gray + 37 black + 45 yellow + 46 orange = 172 total"

for the worldwide market, the claim is "introduced in 2007 and sold an impressive 618 units in its first year" [1]

G production for H1/2007 was 1052

G production for H2/2007 was 899

G production for H1/2008 was 937

put the 618 number in contrast to "mostly H2/2007", and about 2 of 3 Gallardos during that time were SLs

in short, not as rare as some people believe... but still... a great model to own

I got one :)

> I meant how many manual gen 1 SL produced / remaining worldwide

618 total were made in 2007, starting in ~05/2007, i.e. in just over 6 months

Gallardo production seemingly remained steady across H2/2007 and H1/2008

SL production ended in ~02/2008 -- so maybe another ~150-200 from 2008?

lets say ~800 total

of the 172 total for the US market, 7 were manual -- 4%

if that ratio holds for worldwide production -- which it probably does, judging

from statements made by the factory, and observations you can make from a

steady stream of used Gallardos coming up for sale -- then there ought to be

just over 30 manual 2008 SLs ever made

so does that make 2008 SLs -- let alone manual ones -- rare or special?

well... value is in the eye of the beholder

arguably money can convert a non-SL into a SL, and an E-gear into a manual

after all, it's just a bunch of parts...

:)
