Underground Racing 240 MPH Standing Half Mile World Record

Recommended Posts

This past Sunday at Shift Sector Colorado, Gidi Chamdi broke the Standing 1/2 Mile world record trapping 240.6 mph in his Underground Racing X Version Lamborghini Gallardo SL, breaking the previous record of 238.6 mph set by KC Howeth in Justin Herricks Underground Racing X Version Lamborghini Huracan. What makes this an even more impressive accomplishment is that it was achieved at over 1.6 miles above sea level, the density altitude being over 8,400' at the time of Gidi’s record run. To top off the record, Underground Racing cars placed 1st through 4th in the AWD class roll race event with the Fowler brothers facing off in the finals and 1st place in the 6 speed class.

Thank You Gidi, Richard, Ross, Sebastian and Mike for competing. Also, want to thank Pro Line Racing, the best engine builders on the planet. Harry Hruska from Precision Turbo for the outstanding support and custom turbos he delivers to us. John Reed for his MoTeC M1 custom firmware programming and tuning masterpiece from last weekend. As always a huge thanks to the entire Underground Racing crew for all of your hard work.

240 at 8500 DA? Crazy. Maybe the higher DA can actually help as long as the tuning is right

Just curious, was the VBOX speed at 241?

Huge congrats to all..unreal. Will there come a point where frame reinforcement will be necessary for torsional rigidity? These power levels are getting nuts!

You can see that the factory is heading this way with the X frames in the engine bays of initially the Aventador and now the Huracan.
