Ferrari 812

The base 488 will outrun a base Huracan with ease and the track focused speciale version will be an animal and stuff competition for the Performante. The 812 is pushing 800 N/A hp, more than a SV Avantador which still doesn't even have a DCT transmission. They also have the ThethetheFerrari which is a real hypercar, not a kitted up Aventador like Lambo does with their million dollar cars.

Agreed.

Anytime they bring out a new model, its like they put fake wheels on it, to fill the wheel wells, and make no tire gap. Then the real model comes out and they throw a set of 18's on it and make it look not nearly as aggressive. Feel like they did the same thing with the 488.

I will never understand why Ferrari seems to be unable to make their wheels flush with the body of the car. They are always sunken in and are usually too small. When you throw aftermarket wheels on Ferraris it transforms the cars

The 812 is pushing 800 N/A hp, more than a SV Avantador or Aventador S which still doesn't even have a DCT transmission. The TDF is a beast. Pot calling the kettle black on brand loyalty. Ferrari isn't falling behind on anything. I say this as a big time supporter of Lamborghini. Ferrari, Lambo and McLaren are all delivering amazing cars, it just comes down to preference on which one you buy because you really can't lose with any of them.

We all have our own opinions :icon_thumleft:

There was a white TDF at the C&C at Ferrari of Washington yesterday. Actually thought it looked fantastic in person.

In person is the ultimate barometer of a car's looks.

Always thought the Gallardo was a little underwhelming until I saw them in person.

Ferrari's design of F12 is very boring and doesn't do anything for me. This one is boring too but they have more horsepower than Lambo. Lambo used to have more hp before but for some reason Ferrari is making more power.

This thread has ventured towards an alternate universe. Lambo looks great, Ferrari wins every other category. You can't cherry pick attributes from competitors (720S or 675LT straight line performance) to make your case, or use track weapon vs standard model (Performante vs std 488).

488 vs Huracan

488 "Speciale" vs Performante or 458 Speciale vs Superleggera

812 or F12 vs Aventador - really different cars but if you need a matchup the GT is more than capable

F12 tdf vs Aventador SV

The only place where F12 is faster than an Aventador is from a roll. Hell, Ferrari doesn't even allow TDF's to be tested (In a similar fashion how they were salty about LaF), so besides the "official figures" we have no idea how it would do agianst an Aventador SV. 488 and Huracan are equally matched, again 488 being faster than a Huracan from a roll. Remember that the Huracan has 60 or so HP less than the 488, yet it is able to keep up on a track and from a dig. Both of those cars are made for diffrent customers, one is a TT V8 another is a N/A V10.

Ferrari hasn't fallen behind, they simply lie and pussy out whenever the talk of performance begins. It seems they are more confident in thier V8 models than thier V12.

On regards to 812. I don't like it's design apart from the rear. That LaF side intake and POS/Viper front doesn't do it any favours. The absence of Pininfarina is clear in the design. F12 or TdF over this any day if it were my choice.

Not cherry picking and not trying to make a case because I don't have to make a case LOL.

I am comparing like for like and all my comments refer to my preferences and likes only, what's "better" for me might not be for you and vice versa.

Personally I would not take a 488 over a standard Huracan the latest TT car from Ferrari with 60 more HP goes only .2 of a sec around Vairano that's hardly earth shattering, I like the looks of the H better, I like the feel behind the wheel better. If I had to chose a TT V8 I'd go for the 650S.

F12 V Aventador, they are completely different cars, personally I wouldn't cross shop them, one is a GT and the other one is an alien spaceship, TDF is ok, good attempt by Ferrari to put some aggressiveness into their soft GT but the SV is the ultimate crazy machine.

Let's not forget Lamborghini is always a cycle behind because their cycles run twice as long than Ferrari's (unfortunately), having said that in all your comparisons I'd take the Lamborghini car. Ferrari's are too soft for me, I do not like their design language.

And back to the point I was making earlier, let's see what Lamborghini achieved with their entry level basic tech, no frills Huracan Performante, when everyone will see that in order to fully understand the magnitude of what's happening they will have to think what went into developing cars such as the P1, LaF and 918, cars from the best in the business, as far as I am concerned Lamborghini is a small boutique manufacturer at the mercy of VAG with a tenth of the budget of the others but they do wonders with what they are given and that's why I love the brand.

Surprised that there are still debates on these comparisons between Lamborghini and Ferrari.

I stopped comparing performance #s a long time ago. There is always going to be someone quicker than you, have more HP, etc. And even when you have the most, it's only temporary. Someone will always do better. Even on the track a track dedicated car will almost aways outperform a factor street car. Who gives a shit.
