1973 Bronco Motorswap

Have a buddy that bought a mid 70s ford bronco and wants to repower it. Looking to do a motor swap with a current high tech motor. Does not want to deal with the old technology and unreliability. Anybody know someone in the Burbank area or vicinity that would be recommended for this type of work? Maybe a few other additions to suspension, etc.

Ventura 4x4. https://www.yelp.com/biz/ventura-4x4-ventura. They currently service my heavily modified 72 Bronco. They can do pretty much anything, won't charge through the nose like options A, B & C. So busy, they are slow.

Those are awesome suggestions. I will check it out.

Jonathan (Icon) does insane level work, but he'll have performante money in it when it's finished. The plus side is his builds are so well known the resale is actually quite good.

Any of the above are likely to have a serious lead time and may not want to bother with a "simple" project.

Somebody like SDHQ, Kibbie, or one of the well known buggy shops might be able to knock this out pretty easily.

Motor from a wrecked GT500, 5.0 coyote, or 6.2 raptor motor would be awesome in that thing.

Try something different, throw a Mercury engine in it...

I thought you were joking about a boat motor when you stated that. But upon further inspection, that would be insanely incredible.

Speaking of both motors, I saw a pontoon boat with twin 400R Mercurys on it, the other day. Talking about crazy!

Saw a 60ish ft Nor-tech with 5 of them on the back at the white marlin open in MD last weekend.

Yeah, keeping it in the family these would be my engine picks as well.

I'd be careful putting too much power in a Bronco. A short wheelbase, big tires, and a lift make for an unstable platform. I have a late model 351 Windsor, MSD distributor, headers and a 600 cfm carb. Probably putting out 200-225 HP. I can hit 85 on the freeway, even on 37-inch tires which is way too fast. Once I had Ventura 4 X 4 go through it after I purchased it, now it starts every time.
