  1. I believe the scanner tells you ct (circuit) 1 or 2 doesn't it? Don't remember precisely.
  2. You might want to squirt some liquid wrench in there and let it soak for a while. Depending on which one your working on, sometimes better to attack from underneath with the open end.
  3. Here's one from a car for sale on E-Bay.
  4. Not quite ready for that, but I hear what your saying, it's frustrating not to be able to enjoy a beautifully engineered piece of machinery because of this emissions crap, not to mention the hundreds of $$ you spend guessing about the components. I'm not sure the dealership would be able to pin point it either with just one stab at it.
  5. Well after chasing a catalyst overtemp condition accompanied by CEL, catalyst light, and running in limp mode I've changed O2 sensors, and the CAT ECU. Changing these parts temporarily fixed the condition, now it's back. Aside from the CAT itself, I believe the only other component is the thermocouple, part number 006033686. Does anybody know if there's a generic for this $500.00 item? Anybody experience symptoms with a faulty one?
  6. That's a bummer. I'm sure this has been covered before but you have to treat these things like glass, which is counter intuitive to the urge of taking off briskly from a stop. Things I observe: From a dead stop let the clutch out slowly at idle, then apply power once you feel the clutch bite, never apply power then let it out. Don't down shift. Keep the clutch in or out, minimize slipping all the time. Keep your car out of traffic as much as possible....Is a cage to our bulls
  7. Maybe I don't understand, but if your in 5th gear, and not depressing the clutch i don't think just lack of acceleration would have anything to do with it. In any case the only way a clutch lasts only 4k miles is if it was abused or wasn't put in right. You usually detect it by the clutch not engaging until the pedal is let all the way out, maybe other symptoms, don't know them all.
  8. I bought two Custer rods. Yes they are priced like any product would be with no competition, That rounded pin cost another $90.00 if you by through Lamborghini. I replaced one because it was bent, the other I re-used. Too bad it's taken this long for someone to consider making an alternative.
  9. Here's the sensor and deep socket you want. It has a slot cut in it so the wires can slide through it so they don't get crushed. http://www.amazon.com/s/ref=nb_sb_noss?url...amp;x=0&y=0 http://www.amazon.com/Lisle-12100-Oxygen-S...2891&sr=8-1 You can see the ends to the sensor, trace them from the installed sensor, they're partially tucked under the engine panel, and pull apart. If that doesn't cure it and the car runs fine otherwise, you might be looking at that "cold Joint" Exhaust ECU as a culprit.
  10. You raced him wrong, next time do it from a rolling start to 150 MPH, see who's smiling then.
  11. Of course this comes up from time to time and the answer is always the same, get a louder exhaust that way you won't waste money on trying to get good sound.
  12. What about a calibration problem, the new gauge is not compatible with the OEM sender, which means a new sender of the same type wouldn't work either???
  13. That's a weird conflict. The gauge should pick that up as way hot. You need to go through all the basics though. Along with the thermostat: Worn seal on expansion tank Both fans running? Air in the system, although i believe your system is self bleeding. pinched hose faulty temp sensor..... Highly unlike it's the gauge
  14. Could be, but that no reserve doesn't mean allot, he can pull it at the last minute if he doesn't get what he wants. I like it at $80K
  15. Get out of here! Okay that's motivation see what I can accomplish tonight.
  16. Can you come over and do it? Really though need a lift to do this, tight spaces and laying on your back pushes the patience envelope.
  17. Anyone actually change one of these? I'm doing it right now, but getting that snap ring off with the snap ring pliers is a real bear. Every time I get it spread apart it just snaps back. Is that all that's holding it in there, and shouldn't It be able to spin a little? Seems frozen.
  18. Looks good, but ugh, what a beating someone is taking.
  19. Excellent, good to know.
  20. You picked up a fuel filter locally? Where? What part number?
  21. Sounds like plain'ol pre ignition from timing being off or bad gas.
  22. Had the same problem on my Roadster. This place did a very good job. I took it off and shipped it. Don't let amateurs try it. http://www.wheelsamerica.com/
