  1. Don't mix coolants!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Here are some pictures of side effects of wrong coolants used. VW BLUE G11 cant be mixed with Red G12 BMW, Mercedes can be added but there can be damages. Common Issues that I've seen is the system becomes acidic and eat up the metal and plastics. Wrong coolant can also create gelling of the cooling system.
  2. Just be careful not to scratch the leather and carbon console. You can use the provided radio keys on the new unit to remove the old unit. The old one can be repaired and keep it as a spare or sell it.
  3. Smoky, From my experience, you'll have cracked rotors before pads are worn. Here is a picture of a recent one. Pads material was over 7mm Limit is 3mm.
  4. Chris I didn't read the part that you want it off permanently. Why?????
  5. Smoky, This is a normal condition of factory OEM pads. They have metallic compounds that is designed to perform good at all the speeds these vehicles are capable of reaching, only downfall is they tend to squeak. If they went to a quieter pad the stopping power will be compromised as I was told by factory rep. You should hear the race cars as they brake (ouch to the ears).
  6. It all comes out as one unit. The secondary arm comes out together with the Primary.
  7. John I need more details. 1. Are you going over bumps while doing slow turns? 2. Noise heard with windows up or down? 3. Does the noise also occurs while a stand still? Let us know and see if I can help further more.
  8. Jeff is correct and take his advice. This is 90% of the failures in the power steering system. I advice to replace the shaft and pump as a combo. I have seen several pumps damaged by the shaft. Best of Luck Tony C
  9. I am glad that your issue is addressed. Unfortunately that is a down fall about loaner/rental; I would figure that the dealer in order to gain or maintain your business would have arranged for you to be picked up or provide their own loaner. Oops I forgot many are only about gaining $$ and not investing $$ to gain or keep clientèle by extraordinary service. Let us know how she drives once you get her back. P.S. Happy 4th of July
  10. Don't change your oil based on mileage being you don't put much mileage. A rule of thumb to have is at the least change your engine oil twice a year. The reason being is that they are not driven allot of miles but the climate changes from winter to summer do affect oil condition. I always recommend my customers to do their services in the spring time and in the fall just before the summer and winter months. Start off with that because I believe that is your primary issue. Then from there let me know your results. Best Wishes to you Chris.
  11. CTOMIC - Great sound clip. This is what I have gathered: I believe you are having two noises combined, one of them which is very pronounced is the oil pump and the other very faint is the power steering pump. How is the oil quality of the engine and the power steering pump? The reason for the oil pump noise is when the engine is cold, oil is at its thickest state, the pump is somewhat forcing this thick oil through out the engine thus resulting in the noise. Here is what I would do; I would have a second opinion from a local technician to verify the source of the noise. If it is what I think it is, the oil pump should be replaced at a qualified repair facility. They are tricky and somewhat challenging to replace as I have done so in several vehicles in the past. Best of luck and let us know what the outcome has been.
  12. UH-Matt Try these instructions. 1. Remove left and right panel with a wedge. 2. There are some torx screws are revealed on the inner center side of the panels. 3. Remove. 4. With a wedge lift panel up carefully. Good luck getting the shine back in. I have not seen these color match painted, but like the Idea.
  13. What you have is an E-Gear hydraulic hose leak. There are updated hoses. The reason it doesn't start is that the system will not pressurize the shifter and clutch to put itself into neutral upon start up as it is designed. Consider yourself lucky in a way. Attached are pics of a customer's car that the hose burst leaking on to the catalyst and creating a small fire. Take it to the dealer as the hose will need to be replaced, then the system will be filled, bled, selflearned, and tested. Best wishes Dash50
  14. There are several key components on the left rear of the car. It would be hard to give an idea unless there is a video with a sound file. Some of the components are external oil pump, power steering pump, air conditioner compressor, vacuum reservoir, brake booster vacuum piping, fuel filter for bank 6-10, and oil cooler. Will be waiting for the video and/or sound file
  15. Thanks Carbuff!! I figured sometimes repair hints in words don't always paint a clear picture. This Issue Played with my skills for two days. I had checked harness continuity from the cluster to the sensor plug and all over. As you can see the issue is hidden in different locations.
  16. You are very Welcome!!! I am just adding on to Jeff's Post... Thank you for letting others know the exact cause that you found. Also to ContinentalGT for starting the thread and all others who imputed. When ever you're in the Orlando area don't forget to pay a visit. Dj Ant Live.
  17. You need to remove the trunk "Tub" there are numerous grounds around the chassis points. There are some that are hidden by the ABS pump and by the cooling piping system. Here is what you do: 1. Loosen Battery ground 2. Loosen ground bolts. 3. With sand paper clean contact points on chassis, ground wires, and bolt. 4. Secure ground bolts 5. Apply Dielectric grease in grounds to eliminate future contaminations 6. Reconnect Battery Let me know results Here is a layout of the connectors in the front CD02.bmp
  18. You seem to have overlooked Jeff's Post......... Look at the grounds around the area. From my experience as a fellow lambo tech and am repeating Jeff's advice. I have seen bad bulbs, bad ballast, and in rare occasions slight loose grounds in the area that get disrupted from the body flexing while over speed bumps, rough roads, or unavoidable pot holes. DJ Ant Live - Inspect these Items and let us know what was the failure. Best of luck my friend.
  19. From most of my experiences; both front pad harness on the vehicle's side not the pad side get stretched and damaged. Attached are some pictures showing the damages. Hope this helps
  20. "Apparently this is a common problem with the Gallardo mirrors that are liquid filled with that corrosive acid. That is why on later years, they replaced these with non-auto dimming mirrors, that have a little tab that you pull on for night mode." Just a pointer - all the models came with non-auto dimming standard and with the option of auto dimming mirrors. CarBuff - You are also right; allot of times people think that just because the part is either from Audi or VW it should be cheaper when at the factory Lambo part is cheaper.
  21. When I drove the red G, allot of people stopped and asked me what model Ferrari was it? In my mind I was saying....... Traditional colors from majority of what I have seen and what customers say: Ferrari = Red Lamborghini = Yellow, Black
  22. CHAY4 It is a plug and play installation. Not a big deal to change.
  23. 1. What year and model is your car? 2. Are you trying program the remote or the key? Thanks
  24. - When there is a guy with his Fine Ass Girlfriend driving a Hooked up Japanese car or what ever it was and she is giving you her number and telling you to call her in sign language. BTW this just happened last night. LOL......
