  1. Brea is basically on the Whittier/Elsinore fault, which is one of the biggest in So Cal if my geography and geology are accurate... ...my understanding is that having the lift base and building moving in unison is exactly what you don't want in an earthquake, as the motion is then transferred to the raised lift and the unsecured car. While the lift may move and potentially damage things around it if unsecured, less movement within the lift itself reduces the chance of lift failure and/or the car shifting off of it. Anyway, we can compare notes after the Big One hits...
  2. I see you are from So Cal. Is that where the lift is? If so, surprised you have it bolted...I was told that's a bad idea in earthquake country...
  3. The air locks on the BendPak lifts are a hassle. I have an HD9 and it will not hold pressure even after BP replaced most of the pneumatic components more than once. They have basically given up and won't return my phone calls.
  4. Of those, I only consider the CGT worth mentioning. And as it was introduced only months after the Cayenne, Cayenne revenue had nothing to do with its development. I left Porsche for Lambo after decades of loyal ownership because of what it has become. What you consider a more sophisticated 911, I consider a luxury car that has gone to the middle - just like BMW, MB, Lexus, etc. GT3s still have a bit of edge, but the rollout has been...and continues to be...a disaster. They are clearly more focused on churning out badge-engineered VW/Audi SUVs than building sports cars.
  5. No different? The Lambo SUV will not be from a supercar company. It will be from Volkswagen on a platform shared with the Q7 and a hybrid drivetrain; could not be farther from sharing a platform with an F12 with a NA V12. Not awesome, IMO. It is never good when an exclusive luxury brand decides to go after sales volume.
  6. I do not think that is a safe assumption. From what I read elsewhere, the passenger was life-flighted from the scene. They may have both survived (amazing in itself), but I have not seen anything to confirm they are "OK"...
  7. IIRC, they stopped offering the 'entry level' membership briefly, but then brought it back at a higher price. Must have been a decade ago.
  8. Thanks for the advice, guys...had excellent service with Mike at O'Gara.
  9. I've got to get off O'Gara's Bentley list and on their Lambo list. Would like to have joined this weekend...
  10. My car is a year old now, so time for its first service. Need some warranty work (a couple of interior trim pieces), so it is off to a dealer. Should I go to O'Gara or Auto Gallery? The O'Gara sales management did not impress me at all when I was shopping (got the car from Symbolic), but they are a 5-10 minute ride down the hill. I have had good experiences with Auto Gallery (Porsche and Lamborghini sales), but they are so inconvenient. However, I will make the trip out there if they are the better choice. Thank you in advance for any advice...
  11. jay f, let us know how it worked out. I will be looking for a good LA-area dealer soon for my first service, and am curious how AG handled your issue.
  12. Do not accept that answer. It is a $200k car; if he is going to throw around the "hand made" claim, then the attention to detail should be even better than that of a mass-produced vehicle. My 2013 has a very annoying rattle coming from the passenger seat backrest release handle that I will have addressed when it goes in for its first service. Other than that, no squeaks or creaks at 1k miles. I would check that your tires are inflated to spec. Both the 2013 that I test drove and the one I bought (at a different dealer) had tires very over-inflated by the respective dealers resulting in a brittle ride. If yours is the same, it could be contributing to squeaks and creaks...
  13. I see you worked out a deal Symbolic. Congrats!
