AVENTADOR S ROADSTER MAKING SQUEAKY BRAKE NOISE at 900 miles?
svoshop replied to kingrichards's topic in Archived Content
Don't spray brake clean!!! Just go get them hot. Do a few repeated high speed stops but not panic. 90-30 4/5 times in a row. -
It was in full performante trim. I think adding 580lb to the front, and I forget what the massive wing does. Mike

It was crazy to hear that car spin the tires in every gear. Just imagine what would have happened with traction! Mike
-
It was a good event the last time I was in Marion. You bringing both cars, or just the white one? Mike
-
Picking up 9 MPH will be a lot... But I sure would be happy with that!

This means it will go 240++... LOL Looking forward to a good weekend. Always fun to get back behind the wheel of the Gallardo. Mike

FYI: SV recall; loose centering bolts may cause wheel detachment

I have no first hand with Lamborghini center lock wheels. However, I do with Porsche. I have had zero issues with any Porsche center lock wheel. I personally have proper torque wrench to remove and torque them to the required 450 ft lbs. I never once had a wheel that needed a re-torque. The lock tight makes me wonder what the deal is. On the Porsche cars, there is an anti-seize past that we applied. I can not think of the name, but it was made by Castrol. It was the only product that we were instructed to put on the locking threads. All I can think is that there is a heat related issues and lock tight is the only option. I have no first hand knowledge if lock tight is used in the racing world or not. I also read the part about 8 cars?? Mike -
I can not speak to the quality of that company. However, the setup looks just like mine. Mine also came with the ability to roll around. Let me tell you, that is not something I will EVER EVER do. I started life with mine not being anchored down. The movement that I saw scared the hell out of me. Was it safe, most likely... Was it something that I lost sleep over until I anchored them down... YES. Do not go into this thinking you will be rolling your lift setup around. It simply will not happen. I also will tell you, that you need to anchor them. There are too many moving parts, too many things that can pivot and cause weight transfer... Again, this is just my opinion. However, I would strongly take that into consideration. Mike

I do not have much more on my phone, but these should help. It works out fine. Of course, it is a little tight. You need to pay attention to mirrors etc when backing in. But it was the only way I could fit the obsession into my garage space Mike

They are staggered. On is just in front of the other. That allowed me to have both, and for a taller car ( like my Hellcat ) I can use the lift that sits further back to allow more clearance between the auto/garage door. Mike

That runway looks like it has hills and valleys. Mike

I have two T*I*T*A*N ( must be a banned word, lol ) four post lifts. Rated at 7000 lbs. They are about 6 years old and I have had no issues other than an o-ring leaking on the hydraulic line one time. It was right when I had them installed, and honestly feel it was installer error. Otherwise, I have them inspected and adjusted every other year. I do not know the width, however I can measure. I can park my Aventador under one and I can open the door. Position is everything, and I have pool noodles on the lift just to be safe. But it works just fine. I have 13' ceilings, however the garage door does impede just a little. Again, feel free to reach out if I can be of any help. Mike

You are going to love it. And yes, you will never feel that any car is fast again. Consider yourself broken for life, and welcome to the club. Reach out with any questions, as I am always more than willing to help. Mike

Yes. We should be there. Let's get some dinner. Drag Fox away from work and have him come too!

Thank you. I had a feeling the car was up to something. I have a Galileo and scanned the climate system with no codes. But you made me feel 1000% better. Thanks Mike

I feel kind of silly posting this. But today we took the car out. It was about 95 outside , but my daughter wanted the windows down. I just have a habit of turning off all hvac if the windows are open. We stopped and got ice cream ... 😉 and on the way back the car insisted on turning on the AC on the climate and would not let me power down the hvac system. It would turn right back on. I got home. Powered the car down and restated. It was still the same operation. Is this some secret hot weather operation I don’t know about? Not a huge deal. But I found it odd. 2016 700-4 with 1100 miles. Thanks in advance. Mike

Tunnel vision. Inexperience. And a bad outcome. Thankfully, as said prior. This could have been much worse. If you have zero or little experience at high speed, it is 100% necessary you build up to reaching your vehicles limits. Glad he walked away. Mike

The biggest thing I take away from the video is the street/race car difference. Of course both cars are fast. The Huracan is however a street car. Has AC, a full interior, and some added safety equipment. The GTR was stripped. Bare bones. No headliner, no panels, no headlights, taped up edges. Aftermarket panels like the trunk lid etc. Time and time again, to say I am part of the UGR team is amazing. So proud to know that I am with the best of the best, racing street cars, and breaking records. Huge congrats to KC, Kevin, and the entire crew. KC, You drove the wheels off that thing. Can't wait to see what is next. Mike -
Having two Huracan and one aventador. Gosh, how to answer this... the Huracan is great. I senses what you want and does it. Driver input is optional, the car can perform and make you a race car driver with no experience. The aventador ... well... the doors. The sound. The drive is engaging. You have to drive the car or it will kill you. I wouldn't change the radio station while in motion for the first few hundred miles. It's a big car, demands your attention. It's hard to drive, feels a little clunky, and will be out performed by the H in the real world. But the exhaust note of a V12 is magic. The scissor doors are pure sex. The car is a flagship. And it you want to be the flag ship , then you get the flagship. Mike

A bolt on Huracan TT built by UGR... I firmly believe is going to walk a stock 720. Even though I would imagine the 720 has variable geometry turbo's and may make boost more quickly. When the Huracan gets into the power (3000 ish RPM ) it is going to be game over. The 720 is an amazing machine. And for a stock auto, its even more impressive. But at the end of the day, the Huracan is going to come out on top.
