  1. When I heard the gunfire from the crowd videos, immediately thought it was a 5.56 magazine fed rifle. The sound of 5.56 is very distinct, I've watched hundreds of videos of our guys in Afghanistan firing M4s and it sounds exactly like this. He's also just mag dumping 30-40 rounds and then reloading. With a belt fed, the rate of fire would have been maintained for far longer durations. Doesn't sound at all like a 30 to me.
  2. The Porsche residuals are crazy. Almost guaranteed to hold its value
  3. Means jack shit. Mercedes Brixsworth has dominated with this engine for 3 years against Ferrari. It will be a monster. I'm guessing you don't quite understand that suspension setup either. You won't go into why it won't be faster. Maybe your friend should sell the car to get away from it knowing what you know Yeah, Misha knows what he's doing and you can't cheat physics. He took the time straight from his video of the record run. You can even see him in Porsche's video. You also missed Chad's confirmation. Nico Rosberg also mentioned there car would get the record, but I guess he's full of public toilet engravings
  4. Absolutely nothing that I've said about the Project One is false, I stated an expectation. Most people can somehow manage to see that it is a totally different level to anything that has been done for the road before, as is the Valkyrie, but in different ways. Sorry you can't seem to see that. Why do you not expect the Project One to be faster? You said nobody knows what the GT2RS did at the ring and yet here we are, with well known YouTubers living at the ring timing within a couple of seconds of the official lap time. So yeah, you were talking about the GT2RS, and it has been proven to not be "misinformation"
  5. Good luck to you... I wouldn't bet against the GT2RS. There's a reason why even F1 world driver champions are itching to buy it. I'm not talking about the Ring specifically, either, which is its own kind of circuit. My statement about the Project One is not particularly contentious. It's in a whole other league
  6. The GT2RS is a proper monster. Not much will hang with it, definitely not a performante. Ferrari 488 special version and 760LT will be the only competition in this segment. I fully expect the Project One to put the ring laptime massively faster than anything we've seen yet, though. P15 and Valkyrie will be absolutely ridiculous as well
  7. But how can they compete with literally F1 tech at the same pricepoint? Mercedes put 1 billion dollars in development into that engine.
  8. As fast as million dollar cars in the 1/2 mile... Ridiculous. Would the car be quicker in sport or comfort mode for suspension?
  9. We're all benchmarking here. It's nothing unique or strange. Some here are extrapolating from one track to another, which makes no sense. None of us have lapped a Performante at pro level skill to these laptimes. Calm thyself. Yes, a 675LT is slow compared to what is coming. VERY slow. I was hoping for a 1400 kg Performante with more downforce and the ability to really take it to some of the crazier cars coming. Maybe that's what the GT3 Stradale is. Looking forward to that car PS, first generation Trofeo R are a league behind the current generation. The new generation Corsas are as sticky as the last Trofeo R. We're seeing a generational shift in car design in every segment of the market. On the hypercar level, cars like the P1 and 918 will be nothing against the Project One and AMB-001. In the supercar segment, 720+ hp and 1400 kg is becoming the benchmark. This is the most exciting time in decades for car development. Will be exciting to see what everyone else can put down. Driver bounced the revlimiter costing a little bit of time. Car sounds one of the best of any production car
  10. Right, especially when the track special is called performante and performance test is what this article is about. Mhmm. 2.5 seconds faster than a 570S on the last generation Corsas vs latest generation Trofeo R on a short track isn't what most are making this car out to be. It'll get stomped by the coming cars just on that straight and false straight.
  11. That's not fast enough for the next few cars coming IMO. Ford GT, ZR1, and GT2RS I'd expect to put massive daylight to a Plastic mess-06 or 570S
  12. Nice, other than the high horsepower stuff, that's a hard to beat setup
  13. The SV is still a huge car with a big V12. The McLarens run a full carbon tub, the Huracan has a carbon/aluminum space frame and is still mostly aluminum. Just Google huracan chassis and then McLaren chassis to see the difference. The Aventador is just so big, it needs a lot more carbon in the structure. Its chassis weighs 147.5 kg in comparison to the P1's 90 kg, and it has much larger crash structures and rear attach subframe
  14. How much power is your Huracan putting down?
  15. Should be a close race with the 918, which is crazy given the price delta. When will you get Corsas mounted? BP23 and P15 will be absolutely insane
  16. Don't blame ya. Hard to go back when you get burned hard. They really screwed the customer when they were starting out trying to get market share and visibility. I'd stick with the limited editions as the safest bet to minimize the hit. But the conservative approach would be to assume all of these toys as being high depreciating assets. 458s are dirt cheap nowadays as well but are still awesome cars
  17. Actually, that aided in the misconception. We all know Fortis isn't into turbocharging cars, so it seemed like he was saying someone else could put turbos on their car. And yes, grammar is important and actually changes what or who you're talking about. I don't compare cars that you can buy right now and cars have completely unknown specifications and performance. I'm not sure anyone does that.
  18. Interesting, I guess everyone feels different. I almost picture the 720S as a faster Turbo S in street/track balance and the Performante being more GT3RS. Honestly can't go wrong in this day and age with these fast as hell supercars with adaptive damping and dual clutch transmissions. Too bad that manual is a dying breed of cars
  19. Yeah, put some turbos on a hypothetical future generation Lambo (totally opposite of their philosophical stance) is completely clear from your statement. You didn't list a noun, so the typical referred to noun from your sentence structuring is "you", anybody could have somebody put on turbos into a Lambo. Talking hypotheticals (not even suggested or implied by manufacturer) is even stranger than what I thought you were talking about earlier, and makes even less sense. I do think McLarens are tremendous bargains in their respective price segments, but I want a Porsche GT3 991.2 more than any other vehicle on sale right now. McLarens aren't everyone's cup of tea, but that's subjective like everything else. Objectively, they are fast as fcuk. How much that matters to you is a personal disposition.
  20. The 720S is not a competitor to the performante in any way. It's the successor to the 650S and operates in a class of cars that still maintain a decent level of grand touring/every day usability. The performante is the spiritual competitor to cars like the 675LT, upcoming GT2RS, and Ferrari 488 GTO. I've mentioned before that I take little stock in manufacturer lap times and only trust sport auto lap times or viewing lap times across multiple tracks. The SV had a great nurburgring lap time at the ring but is uncompetitive at several other courses. Performante is a sweet ride. Will be hard to choose between the upcoming group of track focused supercars
  21. Do you understand what constitutes appropriate comparison? Like for like means same class of vehicle (modified or production). These cars are designed to meet emissions restrictions and a target reliability and driveability. Anyone can modify anything to beat anything with enough money. Saddest statement ever for lambos, "oh but I could add turbos and be faster to keep up with a stock 720S on standard P Zero tires." To think that a 6.5 liter v12 would ever be like for like to a 4 liter V8 is strange, regardless of what is hanging off of it, it's a completely different engine architecture. Lambo has its work cut it in terms of speed to the latest generation.
  22. That's the furthest from like to like. You have to compare stock to stock
