  1. No Verde from the factory. SW says that the Verde can never pass the "heat" test without discoloration. I have successfully had my calipers matched to my Verde Ithaca and more recently Verde Mantis by my dealer. I will do the same on my VI SV and they are looking into whether this can be accomplished on the center cap.
  2. Sport Bucket Seats Q1J Standard Meant to say "Sport" seat which is the standard seat. Big SV Logo 0KF Just the size of the "SV" on the side of the car.
  3. Verde Ithaca All options with race seats Big logo. Will be an epic car!
  4. While the criticisms are all very reasonable from owners and prospective owners, my personal feeling is that this is the first Aventador that I will own. I have cancelled pre orders on both Roadsters and 50th after reveal because I was not really taken with either car. For me, this is the one. Crazy, bold and emotion provoking. Just look at the pages of controversy. The other thing to remember is that Aventador will almost certainly have a mid cycle "refresh" that could entail dual clutch and other Audi induced updates that will really take away more emotion from the car. For the mindless track monkey commentator who demands silent boring shifts then maybe this will silence your complaints. There is incredible pressure on Lamborghini (as on all car companies) to get away from natural aspiration. The follow on cars could very well be full of batteries, turbos and other things that will potentially make us look at this SV as the last real flagship car in the same way the 670SV is looked on as the last V12 Lamborghini before Audi-ization. They are going to make this transition at some time. This may be it.
  5. It is a terrible car and everything is wrong with it. I recommend everybody cancel their orders and Lamborghini should only produce two of these cars. One for Bryan and one for me. We will then suffer with them for eternity.
  6. I'm with Bryan. Fantastic looking car. First Aventador I'm interested in. I'll take #2
  7. Eric was one of those few people you meet who are totally genuine and totally honest. He's likely shining up the pearly gates right now with his buffer and that great grin.
  8. I saw it yesterday AM in LA and after 24 hours I am still very impressed. I think it is the best looking car they have put out since the Countach. I know this is a bold statement but those are my thoughts right now. The photos do not do the car justice and in person the Huracan is striking. I agree with what others have posted. It is a bit wider and it looks wider than a Gallardo. I was also told it is a bit longer. Interior is excellent as posted above. The rear diffuser will look much better in carbon when available but is tolerable as is. Rear bonnet area is excellent and I personally liked the forged CF. Wish it had perforated leather steering wheel and dark rims offered early. My order is in!
  9. 10AM session tomorrow. Just got in and debriefed my salesman who spent all day today with the car. Everything sounds very positive. Very excited to see it in the morning.
  10. Thanks emilio. Mine had flaked off and was unrecognizable. This appears to be the exact size and look of the old one. The only problem I had was whether to put it on crooked like the old one or straighten it up. In the end, I placed it exactly where the original was. Great work and it got across the pond quickly.
  11. Before we pass judgement on the Sesto based upon observation of a few who have reviewed a video of a driver driving on an airfield for an entertainment TV show, it may be wise to consider that people who actually drove the car loved it and said it handled great. All three presenters thought it was fabulous and echoed those who drove it in Las Vegas. James and Richard went into detail about how easy it was to drive and how well behaved it was. I would concur with every statement they made. I actually drove the Sesto and it handles better at speed than ANY car I have ever driven. It is amazing how easy it is to drive and how it refused to oversteer, understeer, break traction or be "twitchy" within my ability as a driver. A professional driver with TC off on a bumpy airfield breaking a record may be a wild ride but 99.9999% of us are not going to drive like that.
  12. Awesome Video Bryan!!! It was Great to ride pre and grand Giro with Team Salamone along!
  13. These few sentences sum up what I have learned (sometimes the hard way) over 30 years of driving and collecting cars. I drove the Sesto in the second group. I have no frame of reference that I can use to communicate what it was like to anyone except those that drove it. On this very same track, I have driven two separate Aventadors, my personal LP570, and a Super Trofeo Stradale. I am an amateur track driver by all measures and every one of these cars could give more than I could handle as a driver but they were fun and crazy and brought a smile to my face. Nothing like the Sesto! It was insane, tame, crazy, scary, safe and wild all at the same time. It allowed me to be a much better driver than I was. I have woken up every morning thinking about those 5 laps and how powerfully fun they were. It wasn't about engine tweaks or high tech suspensions, etc. - it was about a balance that Lamborghini found and out of it came easily the best car I have ever driven.
  14. Single clutch egear. Shifted the same as my SL. Just much quicker and much harsher. Think of a 570SL in Corsa and add a lot more noise and firmness to the shift. Listening to this beast downshifting on the track was awesome. The only thing better was downshifting the gears yourself as you threw the car into a turn. As others have said, this is a very special car.
  15. Did not drive the ST race car but remember that the two cars have about the same engine setup while the SE is 500 or so lbs. lighter. The ST car was used only as a pace car but my uneducated guess is that the SE would have walked away from it with equal drivers. Different cars with different purposes. SE represents the tip of the spear in terms of what can be technologically done with carbon fiber to gain the most advantage with power to weight ratio.
  16. Just turned 5 laps in the SE chasing the ST car. In short - Phenomenal! Very fast and very responsive. Never driven anything like it. Made a 570SL feel like a truck in comparison. No AC, no nothing. Just a steering wheel, pedals and a gear indicator. That is all you need.
  17. Your opinion . . . and that is all it is worth. I couldn't form a strong opinion until I spent 5 days around two of them. My stated opinions are my own and your mileage may vary. I think this car will cause strong emotions (both positive and negative) in many. It is a much different animal than I thought we were dealing with and nothing like the current or past Gallardo, Murcie, etc in form or function.
  18. The rear is the best thing about the car. Spend some time behind one! The interior is unusual. No other car has ever had anything like it. Reminds me of sitting in a single seater fighter jet. A little strange a first but addictive. Don't knock the trans until you have shifted one. If you want a DCT go get a S4. The car is phenomenal. The only fault may be that it is too easy.
  19. I drove it yesterday. It is phenomenal. No further words are needed. They did not break down. They drove two of them with us the entire run and only two of the other cars were dealer cars. I didn't see anybody "beating" on them.
  20. My second favorite color. I have to admit that I will be trading for a VI LP570 this summer!
  21. So, has anyone with a 07-08 SL ordered the new sport seats within the US and installed into the old SL. I know there were some people that were able to get them for Europe when they were "illegal". Are the new gen SL sport seats a straight swap for the standard seats?
  22. Just for the record, I met Tom for the first time at the Giro this year. He had the best car and had every reason to be arrogant and superior, but he wasn't. One of the nicest guys on the trip. I also didn't see Winkleman or for that matter any of the other management spending any more time with him than anyone else. Tom was kind enough to forward me some of his pics of my car and did a great write up on this board of the event. Based on my encounter with him, I would disagree with the assessment to date. As in my previous post, I found Winkleman and Hoffman engaged and friendly. (Renee was the meanest one there but once he warmed up a bit, he was a big teddy bear.) I've read this thread several times and haven't seen any specific complaint about the management team aside from comments about cranial/torso proportions. I'd like to hear some constructive criticism of Winkleman et. al. If we get our wish from the survey and Lamborghini actually comes over and looks, wouldn't it be better to have them see legitimate complaints instead of photoshop insults? BTW: The best to our Australian friends. Fortis, those pictures are incredible and heartbreaking. I hope everyone is safe. Note, my handle is from an infamous fictional Australian.
  23. I spent a fair amount of time with him at this year's Giro. For whatever reason, we ended up sitting together for most of the lunches and dinners. I found he was very approachable at the welcome reception and the other events although he did have to warm up. We talked over the days about a variety of subjects including parenting and the world in general. He is not unlike the other CEO's of major companies I have met, he choses his words wisely and stays away from controversy. I came away feeling he was a CEO who was trying to navigate a company through many challenges. The world economic collapse, stricter emission and environmental requirements and a generally more competitive business environment. It was clear that he was very interested in the brand surviving these challenges and he also said many times that he wanted to keep the Lamborghini DNA clean and separate from the Audi influence. He also had a strategy of survival that involved technology and new products. Time will tell if his strategy will work.
  24. I think we found one problem they can improve immediately. Owners didn't get the survey!
