  1. Offer lighter-weight RWD variants of the Gallaro and Murcielago.
  2. Which magazine is that? Please let me know.
  3. How many times have I said this!?!? 150 hp+ is on its way for my car, but I just heard of a heffner modified GT thats making more than 1000rwhp! That's with the use of twin turbos. No disrespect to Heffner, but the car can be modded very easily (and reasonably priced) with the supercharger remaining in tact. In my opinion, it would make no sense to go for a TT setup, when for $10K you can get 800hp.
  4. Aram, it was fun driving with you the other day. It's great to get two awesome cars together, and much more fun than driving with just one car. Thanks for taking the time to come out and enjoy the day. Hopefully we can do it again this weekend, and maybe hit the Forks area I mentioned to you. As for the questions by the other member about my car, I can confirm that the car is 100% completely stock. I do intend to modify it, but not sure yet to what degree. I know that the car can attain some sick HP figures, but I want to also ensure that I do not lose too much drivability and realibility. So, I will probably shoot for 100-150hpin terms of mods (max). In stock form, the car clearly loses traction in 1st and 2nd gear as Aram indicated. We did it many times throughout the afternoon, with both Aram in his car, and as a passenger in mine. The first time I took the car on the highway, I was doing 70mph in 2nd gear, stomped on it, and got some decent wheelspin. That's when I knew the car was going to be fast.
  5. :?: that much without any modifications? I've never heard anyone putting up that high of numbers. That would mean its basically a 700hp car from the factory Depending on the dyno, stock GT's are dynoing at around 525 rwhp. I would say that redzone's car is either particularly strong, or the dyno he used gives higher numbers than normal. With the stock cars dynoing at ~525 rwhp, and assuming 15% driveline loss, the crank hp should be ~615.
  6. Redzone, I too have a GT. What did you do to "dyno tune" the car? Please provide me more details. Thanks.
  7. Yes, the V's interior is definitely "edgy", but I kind of like that. It's different than anything else out there. I had one for just over a year, and the car is a blast to drive. And, it was probably one of the most trouble-free cars I have ever owned, which says a lot considering how hard I drove the thing.
  8. Cadillac is heading in a great direction, IMO. The cars they are coming out with are really amazing, and definitely world-class. It annoys me when people scoff at a good car, just because they think German cars are best, or Japanese cars, or whatever. It doesn't matter what country the car is built in, a great car is a great car. And Cadillac has some great cars. The CTS-V, the STS-V, and the new Escalade. I thought that I would never find an SUV that I liked more than the Range Rover. The 07 Escalade is the cream of the crop, in my opinion.
  9. The Sky and Solstice are great cars for the money. Target competitor is the Miata, and I think these 2 cars are leaps better than the Miata. My hat is off to GM for these 2 great new cars. As for power, they are not targeting that market to start, but they are experimenting with a V8 in the Solstice. That would be insane.
  10. Given that the Ford GT can outperform the Gallardo, I agree that the car is more of a performance match for the Murcielago. However, given the pricing of the FGT, they are probably more readily competing for market share with the Gallardo and F430/360. In addition, FGT's are dynoing in stock form at about 520-530 RWHP, which means they are actually putting out over 600 HP at the crank. Nice to see a manufacturer that actually is conservative in their HP claims. In the right hands, I think the FGT could hold off just about any car, short of the Enzo and Carrera GT.
  11. Damn. Sweet Porsche.
  12. I thought the round one he wears was a Jacob & Co. custom, but I could be wrong.
  13. http://bimmer.roadfly.com/bmw/forums/z8/ This board is a great resource. There is a guy there named "Grease Monkey" that is extremely competent with Z8 technical information. I read about the aftermarket solution on this board.
  14. The other thing that appeals to me about the M6 is the future potential for mods that are sure to come from tuners like Dinan. They will definitely be producing some hp-gaining mods for that V10 in the M5 & M6. Guaranteed within 12 months, there will be products out that will provide over a 50hp gain in that engine.
  15. I looked into that, and there is an aftermarket solution that can remedy the problem. The issue is that the current owners are unwilling to fix it themselves, and want BMW to fix it (understandably). I would use this as a negotiating tool in getting a lower price, and then just do the aftermarket fix myself.
  16. I was VERY impressed with the Q7 when I took a good look at it last week. The quality of materials just oozes from the vehicle, and it's the first "smaller" SUV that I really like. And the price is very reasonable, considering what you get. They did a great job with that thing.
  17. I'm trying to think of a 3rd car that can complement the Gallardo and SUV. These are the options that I am thinking: M6 V8 Vantage CLS 55 Z8 Any other suggestions? Trying to keep the price point below $150K CDN ($125K USD). I like the fact that the M6 is understated. And, it serves a different purpose than the Gallardo, so the weight doesn't bother me.
  18. I just checked out the M6 at the auto show, and it looks pretty cool. Anybody here have a chance to drive this thing yet? Any other general impressions? The understated look, combined with the 500hp V10, is appealing to me.
  19. As long as the road is smooth, the POS handles decently. If the road is uneven in any way, forget about it. Bye bye.
  20. POS driver needs to brush-up on his counter-steering. Or, ride the public transit.
  21. Repost of the century. Let's all beat the dead horse again. Ready...go!
