That thing is nuts! Great work! -is it just me or do the tires look like they are just about to deform off of the rim at the end of that burnout? -and what the heck is happening to the panel in the rearward-view camera footage? Does that happen to all G's at speed?

It's not as simple as needing a relay. The "vents" are computer controlled. If you want to use a relay to control them you pretty much have to disable and then circumvent the existing system (not recommended due to who-knows-what other glitches that could cause). The procedure that YM describes above is meant to play along with the computer and keep it happy. Following this procedure would be 100x easier than re-engineering the current system to function like an "on/off" switch simply because you already have the procedure at your disposal. If you do make a switch though, please let us in on it. Cheers

I don't know Gustav or the MBoard. I want something I can watch with my wife in the room and not feel like a cheeseball for watching it. Things like "super mean machines burning up the street" are NOT said in the videos I'm thinking of. And constant/needless T/A isn't necessary (a little is ok of course..just not half the video or to the point where it interferes with the car stuff). Not a bunch if kids being stupid...no foam parties.... just cars. The Superspeeders looks interesting.

Using quotes is unfair because it limits the latent semantic engine that google uses. Without quotes I get "About 609,000 results (0.25 seconds)" Change it to Lamborghini LP 700-4 and it's "About 74,700 results (0.41 seconds)" Not sure what numbers we are expecting. Can't compare to the Mclaren numbers today but instead to the McLaren numbers months before release.

So what happened between the auction damage and Brian acquiring the car? Did R&S insurance cover it? Or did TC's insurance have to eat it? How did that work out?

I'm always on the lookout for good exotic/race DVDs, but they just don't seem to exist. Most times I can't get past the reviews, which are often horrible. I've been looking at this series repeatedly but the reviews keep me away each time. Opinion is so split. It seems like one crowd (possibly a younger crowd with bed-head hair styles) likes the music-video style production, and others (prob car guys like me) rip it apart. But I can't be sure who is providing what opinion. Gumball series has it's moments, but most of it is crap. The Getaway series went to crap after the third or fourth installment. That was promising but it all became so ultra staged and overdone, and the cars keep getting crappier or more boring. Anyone have recommendations or is the Speed and Motion series the best stuff we have? I'm looking for: -first person views -lots of cameras -"grown up" commentary and less tech analysis like "dude this is a sick/killer ride" -minimal music dubbing -lots of actual/real sounds from the event being recorded

Could someone summarize this thread in a short paragraph? Normally I would read every page but I just don't have time right now but have been trying to piece this together for a while. TopCarbon (now called TopCabron for some reason) had a Diablo. It went to Russo and Steele for some reason. Did they borrow it? Or was he trying to sell it? I can't get that from the first post. Seems there is another post somewhere with the beginning of this story but I haven't found it. He got the car back and, for some unknown reason, it was destroyed, "not one panel unaffected". Someone suggested vandalism but as far as I can tell everyone ignored the requests for more info in the first few posts of this thread. Then the car went to someone named Malcolm Forbes, I am assuming THE Forbes of Forbes magazine, and not just some other guy with the same name. Then the car went to Brian's shop and he has basically restored it (excellent work too!). So... -what happened? -who owns the car now and is paying for this resto? -why is everyone so interested in this particular Diablo, just because it's a revival story or something deeper? I feel like I'm walking in on an inside joke, so if that's the case just tell me and I'll p!ss off back to "new guy" land. No harm, no foul.

Oh ok. The way your post was written (reposting the "leaked" detail) and the way the shots were taken it seemed like you were posting these as spy shots taken during the preview. Was a little misleading just because of how the info was presented and arranged (ie I realize it wasn't intentional)

This is a pic of the Reventon, no? Are you saying this is the LP700? I appreciate the info but am confused by the pics you've shown in your post. Are these pics of the new Gallardo, and a Reventon, and none of the LP700? Where are these pics from? There is no explanation? The assumption is these are from the Preview, but if so then why bother risking getting caught by taking a pic of a Reventon?

That car is sexy! If there had been a 6.0 near that price when I was hunting I'd prob be in one of those instead of my Murci, for better or worse. Too bad about the exhaust system. That will need swapped asap.

I hate the idea of new laws. People should just know better. People should KNOW and WANT to wear a seatbelt in a car. People should KNOW and WANT to wear a helmet on a motorcycle. They so badly don't want to follow common sense that they will circumvent any rules, exploit every loophole...just to get the job done. Stupid people (the ones who drink and drive, the ones who use cell phones and drive, the ones who splatter their face all over the road in a motorcycle accident, etc) enable government to control our lives by giving them the excuse to control our lives. Then everyone gripes that the government is controlling our lives. I say forget the laws. Just provide less coddling when bad things DO happen. Does your cell phone show talk time at the time of the incident? No insurance coverage for you. NONE. Were you drinking when you killed those people on the interstate? Death penalty for you. You ripped off your arm when you got thrown from the car during the accident because you weren't wearing your seat belt? Well forget that health insurance coverage...no reason everyone else should take a hit just because THAT ONE PERSON was stupid. Side note: Cell phone drivers annoy me so much that I purchased a cell phone jammer to carry with me in the car. Works great. I just want more range out of it. The EvomsIt site shows the following conditions: Are these your conditions as well? If so, can you explain the 45 day return period, satisfaction guarantee, and warranty a little more? What is warrantied? Is there a URL with this info? I cannot find one. And typically reflash tunes are based around an assumed set of hardware...a lowest common denominator of OEM and aftermarket mods. What "mods" would you recommend be complete to take most advantage of the reflash? Eg I have a Larini exhaust with secondary decat right now. Will that help or hurt my gains given the spec the reflash tune was designed around? What other parts would help maximize the tune in the reflash? Thx! Sorry for so many questions. I'd PM but I figure many others might become more interested some some of these little details come to light.

Check your local regs, everywhere is different. I got a ticket driving through Mississippi once and looked it up...their structure is wild but not dissimilar to others...basically you pay per speed range, and everyone tops out at a different spot. I think this one was 120 or something. Anyway, it costs the same if in a 65mph zone you are going 66-79mph. And it costs the same from 80-89, and so on. So I decided then that from now I was always going to speed at the top end of any range I was driving in. May as well get the most for my money I figure!

Any updates on the AFR data? And how does the reflash process work? Do you perform an "on the rollers" dyno tune? Or does the customer remove their ECU, ship it to you for the reflash, and then reinstall? Thx!
