  1. HEY!!! I resemble that remark!!! Although, that being said, I've put over 30K KMs on my car in the last 2 years, and other than the power steering/shocks problem (they are on the same system) the car has been a dream. And I haven't had any clutch problems either.
  2. That's the problem with this car. I was sitting with a good friend of mine at the RM auction as one came across the block. I asked him if he was going to bid on it. He said he would love to have it, but would never want to take it out of the garage for the endless " does it have a flux capacitor" questions.
  3. This just confuses me. If he wanted Lambo doors, why not just buy a LAMBO? For what he paid for an F430 plus all the conversions....he could have had a Lambo and not looked like quite as much of a jackass.
  4. We'll be there with ours, and we haven't registered yet. I figure there are more people like us out there.
  5. There is a discussion on height difference on F-chat. We measured our car vs an 87 QV. Thought you guys may be interested. http://www.ferrarichat.com/forum/showthrea...54&page=140
  6. Considering my screen name.....
  7. That is so cool to have documentation like that! What number is your Jalpa?
  8. Possibly the long wheelbase 250GT Competizione? Here is a model of the one that won in the 1957 tour http://shop.svetmodelu.cz/DetailPage.asp?DPG=42449
  9. when our group was asked to participate in filming for a tv show, they closed off an access road that ran parallel to I-15. Totally legal, we even had the cops that closed off the road radaring us and egging us on to go faster If they can do it, I don't see why we can't, especially if we turn it into a charity thing. The only problem with that road was that it was kindof bumpy and things got a little stressful after about 150mph.
  10. A few years ago, learning the fine art of detailing
  11. Thanks, she always wants to go in the Lambo, I guess she gets that from mom too I've dropped her off at school in it a few times, it's always a big hit. Fortunatly, I don't have to worry about what the parents think--at her school we would be considered "mid-income".....
  12. Here's my little girl. The V12 puts her to sleep everytime
  13. I haven't tried the manuever in a Countach (my husband isn't in the sharing mood yet) but this weekend i tried it in the Diablo and it was pretty darn easy, For once, I actually looked like I knew what I was doing!! I have always propped myself up in the seat (I have a roadster) to look over the top, but it is hard to get leverage that way. So I thought I'd try the door sill technique. Try adjusting your seat way forward to get some leverage on the back of the seat. It was amazing how much visibility you have that way.
  14. Teach 'em young My daughter is learning. Scares me to think about when she's a teenager
  15. We will definatly keep the bumper thingies.......on the wall of the garage!!!
  16. Thanks, To be honest, my first thought when I first saw it was " that's the coolist, yet FUGLIST car I'v ever seen" But it's starting to grow on me...hell, we may just keep it this way
  17. You liked the cattle prods?? The 88.5 belongs to a friend of ours in Las Vegas. It dosen't get out much, but should be at the reunion.
  18. Just got done with ExotiCorso!! I need a nap!!! I have a ton of info on this car, but here is what I thought was the most pertinent: I believe it is a 1979. I will try to take a pic of the plate in the engine comp. tomorrow. (it's too dark tonight) It was brought into the US by H.R.H Prince Turki Ben Saud in 1981 or 1982 ( I have a lot of importation paperwork with varying dates throughout the process) It was supposedly painted by Claudio Zampolli to match the Prince's yacht. (I did find Blu Aculpulco traces behind the door panels) It was sold to Porsche Plus in Laguna Beach, who in turn sold it in Feb 1983 to the gentleman we bought it from. The car runs strong, we probably put 200 miles on it this weekend. What a sight! I was tailing it in the Diablo at 120mph, and he was pulling away! Here are some pics from this weekend--Enjoy!
  19. It is being gone thru right now to make sure it is mechanically sound. We will certainly drive it enough to keep it in sound shape, but unfortunatly, not as much as the Diablo.
  20. That's the only reservation I have about having such a rare car. I want to drive it constantly, but worried about putting too many miles on it. We bought our Diablo about 1 1/2 years ago with 12K km on it, now we have almost 40K km on it!! No reservations whatsoever about driving the Diablo that much, but concerned about such a rare Countach
  21. Looked thru the paperwork last night--it is a 79. It was only a 2 owner car. I have all the paperwork starting with when the prince imported it to the states. I need to go through every piece in there. Unfortunatly, I won't really have time to do that until next week. ExotiCorso starts today and I will be busy the whole weekend!
  22. I have looked everywhere that I can think of for a different color, but whoever did it must have stripped it bare. I will post more photos after ExotiCorso, we are planning on gently taking it on a run or two!!!
  23. Agreed, any help in finding out what that color was would be appreciated.
  24. I believe the previous owner had the car for 20+ years. Yes, it was in Nevada. It may be a 1979? I need to look through all of the paperwork. Some says 78, some says 79. I originally said it was a 78 because that is what's listed in the registry. How can I find out for sure?
