  1. Hey, Chip! Yes...I'm alive and well...Just very busy. I would like a Huracan or a 650. I'm sure I'll pick something up in the next few months...
  2. This is certainly sad. I couldn't of cared one way or the other on what he posted online, and all the drama. It's a sad situation for everyone that knew him. Even the 'haters' would have never wished this on anyone, especially someone as young as he was. RIP Robert. It sounds like he knew his time was limited, and lived life to the fullest! Exactly what I would want to do.
  3. Awesome! Now I need to get another Lambo! (Just sold mine a week ago). The last dealership was 1 mile from my office, this one is 2 miles. TWICE as far away as the last one! This sucks!
  4. I don't think there is a single one there that isn't poster worthy...Great shots! Damn!!
  5. Seriously, though...Can't wait to see what you guys are able to get out of both platforms! Good luck!
  6. Here you go, Trans....From my Uncle Teddy -
  7. I went from the S3 to the S5, and I'm pretty happy. Basically the same phone, just a bit faster, and a few extra bells and whistles. A few menus are different, so it takes a bit to get used to, but overall I'm pretty happy...And the improvements in the still/video camera are really good. I'm sure there are a few photos and vids that will pop up of her...
  8. Sorry, I was busy kicking ass in my GTR!!! I only stopped racing for a bit just to watch the Aventadors and 911 PDK turbos launch...They are a thing of beauty to watch come out of the hole.... But don't worry, Allan...There were plenty of people there filming and taking pics...Something should be posted shortly, but everyone is tired from yesterday - it was a long, fun day!
  9. Grrrr...Then does the Murci have a clutch switch? (i.e. you need to have the clutch depressed in order to start the car) If so, I would check that limit switch on the clutch pedal.
  10. Yes, but I didn't take video of his car... I see a GoPro on his car here, and I saw him race at least two or three cars, so there should be some video surfacing.
  11. Did a private runway event yesterday, and I just love watching the Aventadors launch....So I took some slo-mo vids...Enjoy guys!
  12. Tell him to try rolling it back (or forward a few feet) with the ignition on - if the trans can't lock into neutral it won't start (that is if this is an E-gear car).
  13. Nice car...Yes, there are a bunch of DIY guys on here...The 2004-2008's are VERY easy to work on for the routine stuff (oil, plugs, air filters, etc, etc..) Enjoy the ride!
  14. Yes...I should have said that I was quoting prices on the fluids, not the entire job...It's really not rocket science, and any accomplished mechanic could handle it. And I agree...Brake fluid > Coolant.
  15. I don't think I'd mess with the coolant at 15k...Maybe just check the level and concentration, and top off as needed. The oil and filter are ~$150 altogether. The trans/rear diff fluid and front diff fluid is probably ~$100. Spyders are a touch more difficult than coupes. So I would say about 4-5 hours labor TOPS! This is not difficult stuff to do. In a coupe this would take about 3 hours.
  16. Sure...While this may be correct, 99.9% of the people on this board interested in painting/powdercoating their calipers are doing it purely for cosmetic reasons, and will probably never ever get their brakes near the temperatures where this would be an issue. I can also say in the ~20 years I've spent on tracks in all different kinds of vehicles I haven't had a caliper crack or fracture that wasn't related to another part failing causing obvious damage (and I've been in some REAL shitty cars with some REAL shitty brakes!). I've had caliper piston seal failures, but even those are somewhat rare. But then again, I'm not racing competitively at 10 10ths, more like for 'sport' at 7 or 8 10ths. Not saying that it doesn't happen, but if it's going to happen, there is probably something else going on, too.
  17. DO NOT take the bolt that you have circled on the right...That is coolant. The one that faces front is ok...That's oil. The center biscuit is OK, that's oil (yes, Buff, I believe it has a crushwasher). FYI - You are supposed to get the oil HOT before changing on the 560 to try and get the oil cooler thermostat to open and get all/some of the oil out of the cooler. FYI2 - I've never been successful in getting more than about 7-7.5 qts out of the 560, and about 6.5 of that comes out of the dry sump tank. PS - Jeff, where is the drain on the timing cover? Never knew about that one...
  18. The drains for the climate control system run down by the footwell, and then out under the car. If someone has taken the lower diffuser off to check the front diff or something, it is possible they kinked or cut those lines and they are not draining properly. Check those, there is one on each side of the center console (one for driver side, one for passenger side). If they are not right, you can end up with ALOT of water under the carpets.
  19. I've had painted calipers on all of my cars and never had any issue. While powder coating may be more 'durable', it is VERY difficult to match specific colors with PC. Painting is fine, and you can get perfect matches much easier. Car looks GREAT, Gem!
  20. Man...This is terrible! Ray was a legend! Terrible news to hear...RIP Ray.
  21. There are 2 sets of cats on the 560's. One is part of the header, and the other is part of the factory exhaust/muffler 'suitcase'. The cats on the header would be difficult and expensive to remove, but I guess it's possible. The muffler ones are easy - just install any muffler setup - i.e. Fabspeed - and you'll eliminate that secondary cat.
  22. Damn...Congrats!! That is one hell of a car! Curious to see how it stacks up to previous/current cars you've owned. Enjoy!!!
  23. Damn....And just a few weeks under a year to do so! LOL!
