  1. That was $200K cash PLUS a 2001 Diablo 6.0 for my Countach. :-) The way prices are going, it would take even more cash now! LOL! It's fun to watch it go up. It's also nice to be in the position where you don't have to sell. I really enjoy the car. I never bought it for the purpose of an investment, I was just one of the many kids who had the Alpine posters hanging on my bedroom wall and kept telling myself "One day, I'll own one!" I'm sure all of us who own these cars are amazed that at any auto event (Concours, etc..), the crowds are always around the Countach. I am always taken aback at our weekly "Caffeine & Gasoline" event to see the crowds gathered around my Countach even though there are Gallardo's, Murcielago's, Aventador's and the new Huricane in attendance. Mike
  2. Sorry for the double post... Not sure why it did that. Must be solar flares. ;-) Admin can delete one if they'd like. Mike
  3. Wow, $1/2 million for a 25th. Can tell you one thing, if anyone ever offered me a half a million for mine it be gone so fast my head would spin! LOL! http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lamborghini-Counta...=US_Cars_Trucks Mike

  5. These kind of videos always leave me scratching my head... What is the point of racing an 80's era car against a modern car? What would be shocking is if the Countach would have won. A GTR should win, its 30 years newer. Its kind of like racing a Countach from the 80's against a T-Bird from the 50's. Oh wow! Look, the Countach beat the T-Bird. I never buy a car because of how fast it goes or what it can beat. I buy a Countach because its rare, I liked it as a kid and not everyone owns one. :-) Mike
  6. And, its not just the Countach they are behind on..... Check out the values of the Espada, Jarama, Miura, etc...
  7. His price guide is so far behind the times, its worthless. I don't think he has updated any of the Lamborghini prices in over a year. I'm letting my subscription expire because its so far behind the curve on not only Lamborghini, but other marks as well. Check out these values from the latest price guide dated Summer/Fall 2014.
  8. RM auctions in August down in California... Any guesses on sale amount??? http://www.rmauctions.com/lots/lot.cfm?lot...m_campaign=MO14 Mike
  9. Alan: If it helps you, here were the weights I got when I swapped my Big Box for the Quicksilver stainless. i also have the front USA black bumper in my rafters. Let me know if you want me to weigh it. I can tell you that it is HEAVY!!!!! Mike
  10. Just got the new SCM "2014 Summer/Fall" Price Guide...... I think most of us can say if we could find a Countach for the prices listed in this issue we'd be jumping all over it.

  12. Just noticed this today on eBay. http://www.ebay.com/itm/Lamborghini-Counta...=US_Cars_Trucks Mike
  13. I wonder if anyone will want my signature after I sell my Countach?
  14. Bonhams Countach sold for $1.1 Million today.
  15. Wow, I guess I havn't been paying that close of attention to the fuel injection prices. Seems all anyone talks about are the DD cars. Mike
  16. Wow, $249k for a fuel injected 5000QV. It will be interesting to see what it sells for. Mike
  17. Photos showing Countach 5000QV with drowndrafts and mine with BOSCH k-Jetronic fuel injection. Also for comparison, Countach with Weber side-Draft carbs.
  18. Yes, the term "Downdraft" is used for the Weber Carbs that draw the air/fuel down into the intake manifold. Other cars used side-draft carbs as with the earlier Countach's. And yes, the double hump is on the 5000QV cars (which use the BOSCH K-Jetronic fuel injection).
  19. Correct. That 1985 5000QV and the first part of 1986 used to 2 slats like mine. Due to the lousy air ventilation it provided, about 10 cars after mine, they went to the 3 louvered vent version. As BlownDaytona pointed out too, the single huge hump is for the downdraft Weber carb version.

  21. Well said! With only 410 Jalpa's built, every one saved is a good thing! Mike
  22. Wait until you see what the motor-mounts look like when you get them off! This is unless they've already been replaced. Mine were in horrible shape.
