  1. Wow, that is great! Sounds like you got them out fairly quickly!! I would think your starter motor would be easy to access while the headers are off now? Has it been rebuilt lately? I do the exact same thing as you. After I drive the Countach and shut it off, I raise that engine hatch immediately to let all that heat out!!! I need to find someone selling the later model engine deck lid (like someone who converted their FI car to Webers and put on the engine deck lid for the Weber cars), that wants to sell theirs. The factory "only" wants something like $4800 for one. I bet you can't wait for UPS to arrive!!! Mike
  2. +1 on that!!! I swear, it gets hotter than a 2-peckered frog back there in that engine bay!!! One day I need to replace my old 1st generation engine deck lid with the later '86 model (and on) engine deck lid that has the 3 open vents. Mike
  3. Reiner: Wow, you really do have your work cut out for you!! Can you change headers on a Countach with the engine in the car? If so, one day I might replace my old OEM USA headers with the Quicksilver units! Mike
  4. Mario would love to see how well his "ex" is being cared for!! Great video! Mike
  5. I've said in the past, the front end of that car really reminds me of the Aston Martin Bulldog. Here is a shot I made back in the early-80's when the Aston Martin Bulldog was at the Seattle International Auto Show. Mike
  6. Very nice Allan! One other thing you probably have noticed when filling the Countach at a gas station..... it takes FOREVER to get the last 2-3 gallons into it!!!! I've tried everything! Turning the pump handle in different directions, pulling it further out, pushing it further in, etc... But it just cuts off.... I put about .50 cent into it and "Click", it shuts off. I've got to the point where I barely squeeze the handle and let the last few gallons go in at a snails pace! Seems like I'm at the station for a 1/2 hour at each fill-up! LOL! Mike
  7. Mine are completely missing! I made those photos off my buddy's Countach so I could show folks what I was looking for. Mike
  8. Here are the 2 stickers that I am trying to locate:
  9. Did I hear someone say "Rosso Sivglia"? Why, yes! :-)
  10. Thank you, Emilio! Wish I could get over to Italy again soon!!!! Do you and Albert live close to each other? Mike
  11. Albert, You are to kind! Such nice words! I try my best to help out where I can. I find that life is too short for petty arguments and bickering. Like my Mom & Dad use to always tell me when I was growing up as a kid: "Mike, always leave room to be wrong. Just because you think you might be right, doesn't make it so". Very true. I might be 53 years old, but I still learn things every single day!!! I only wish my car was as good as yours! My paint is nowhere near as good as yours! Since my paint job is original and 27 years old, it has all sorts of heat related spider cracks all over the deck lid, air pods, etc.. I've thought about painting it one day, but everyone tells me to keep it original. If we ever get back over to Italy, I would love to meet you and your wife! Last time I was in Italy was back in 1987!!! Take care and talk with you soon! Mike
  12. So true! I am looking for a 2007 or '08 Maserati Quattroporte and there is one for sale about 10 miles from me in Black (I'd really like to have Blue or Burgandy). I had a 2002 Maserat GT Coupe that was black (sold it to get the Countach), and was FOREVER cleaning, polishing and waxing it!!! LOL! But, it sure looks great when clean! Mike
  13. Yep, it is very nice! After a couple of runs with my car, I could see it was starting to curl like the old one. So, I carefully removed it, sprayed the backside with a 3M adhesive and put it back on. 6 months later it has not curled 1 bit (even on the edges!) Mike Roman, keep us posted if you find anything! I'm looking specifically for the "specification" sticker for the 1986 model year. Mike
  14. Allan, if you find them, let me know! I'm looking for them too! The only one I could find and bought was the AGIP sticker. I bought it from Glen at the Lamborghini Registry: http://www.lamborghiniregistry.com/TheStore/PARTS/Agip-.html Mike
  15. Yep, that is where I got the above info. They are a great place! I've bought stuff from them in the past. Mike
  16. Allan: I'm guessing the '87 5000QV uses the same radio as my '86. That being the Alpine 7273. The trim piece for the Alpine 7273 is part number: 82000E34402I78 It is used on the following Alpine units, which should expand your possibilities just a bit. It does show as "Discontinued", but keep searching on eBay, you might be able to find someone selling a unit that has the trim ring: ALPINE 7171 Mobile Electronics: Radio/Cass Player 1985 ALPINE 7171R Mobile Electronics: Radio/Cass Player 1987 ALPINE 7172 Mobile Electronics: Radio/Cass Player 1986 ALPINE 7272 Mobile Electronics: Radio/Cass Player 1985 ALPINE 7272R Mobile Electronics: Radio/Cass Player 1985 ALPINE 7273 Mobile Electronics: Radio/Cass Player 1985 ALPINE 7374 Mobile Electronics: Radio/Cass Player 1985 ALPINE 7374R Mobile Electronics: Radio/Cass Player 1985 ALPINE 7900 (ALP) Mobile Electronics: Radio/CD Player 1987 Mike
  17. Dean is a member on this site. He lives in Australia and came up with those heims as a result of all the issues with the ones from Kurt. Mike
  18. Which hose or connector is leaking? Here is the diagram showing the oil cooling circuit. Hopefully it isn't the cooler itself that has cracked at the fitting. Mike
  19. Russ, So sorry to hear about the trouble! I know you were so looking forward to being a Countach owner again!!! Arrgh!! Got to be so frustrating!!!! Since the outside photos of the car looked so nice, I take it the issues with the car are mechanical (Engine, Transmission, etc..)? Hope it all works out! Mike
  20. I wish any of the companies (AutoArt, Maisto, etc..) would make the 5000QV in a 1:12 scale! :-(
  21. That looks like the BOSCH Fuel Pressure Regulator. Was it leaking because of a crack in the rigid pipe? Or, was the nut not tightened down all the way? Mike
  22. Wow, that's scary Larry!!!! I'm glad they caught it in time! Mike
