  1. I'm game. The RS is stock not to fair to compare. When and where?
  2. While I agree with the statement of a 911TT is not an exotic, it is clearly above an M3 or S5, ask any owner of those cars what car they would like to have next. I'd bet money most would say a 911TT because it IS the next logical step. As far as a GTR comparison, it is very equal in speed but interior material quality is not as nice in the GTR and even my friend that was with me made the same statement last night. He also said that as great as the GTR is the 911TT is still a "cooler" car...I agree with him. To me the 911 offers a different type of excitement than my G. From a looks & sound perspective, the G all the way. At times i prefer the lighter steering of the Turbo and the ceramics are easier to modulate. I still enjoy a manual trans. It's easier to jump in and drive and I can put my little ones in the back seats! My solution like Allens is simply to have both..it's the best of both words
  3. Hey Kilo, I am right near King of Prussia, 1/2 hr from Philly if you want to meet up!! You can pick which of my slow cars you want me to bring:)
  4. Tubi street & Softronic ecu flash. Also 20" wheels & Bilstein damptronic coilovers/h&R adj sway bars.
  5. As promised after a night at the track: Disclaimer: this was only the fourth time I've done this and the last was 1998! It's also much more difficult to launch a car properly..a lot of credit to those that get it right. First run air temp @ 80 with a slight wind at your back: Launch somewhere around 3K RPM can't find slip - 11.9 @ 121mph I think I forgot to turn off the A/C Second run - I took about 10K miles off of my clutch...a total throw away run! Launched somewhere north of 5K, not really intentionally...it didn't smell very good. Definitely had A/C on because they stopped me at the end of the run and asked...rookie move huh! Third run - temps in low 70's I definitely took it a bit easier after the last botched run - 60' - 2.138 1/8 - 7.897 1/4 - 12.004 @120.63 Fourth run - temp around 70 60' - 2.119 1/8 - 7.897 1/4 - 11.92 @ 121.74 Last run - air temp about 66 60' - 2.018 1/8 - 7.776 1/4 - 11.80 @ 124.7 Overall I was impressed wit the car...not necessarily my skill. I definitely think that properly driven there is a couple/few more MPH and possibly a couple/few tenth's. My friends stock 09 GTR ran consistent mid 11.9's at 119 to 120mph in either manual or auto mode.
  6. Even if the springs are the same size, the rates could be different. Make sure you ask about compatability with the oem shocks/struts!
  7. That's a bummer! Does Lambo run the same spring/ride height for the rest of the world or are they lower elsewhere? I know Porsche used to do this, not sure if they still do.
  8. Hopefully adjustable coilovers like the first Gen SL.
  9. My regular 07 coupe to my current 08 SL - I actually find the SL is quiter/ more dead, due to the Alcantara. I noticed this as soon as I drove the car. Also, with the alcantara there is no sun reflection off of the dash through the front windshiled, the leather at times was a bit anoying. The exhaust is a bit louder but nothing offensive but I don't think it has anything to do with the interior materials.
  10. I'll be running a 93 Octane file. I've only 1/4'd a few times so I'm sure that this will not be the world record:) BTW, the Tubi street sounds great! I picked it up used for 2K then added the double round Fabspeed tips. I also did the Softronic flash myslef...pretty easy to do. You should check out 6Speed classified for exhaust sales, there is always something there.
  11. I was thinking about taking the 911. I did the softronic ecu flash and tubi exhaust.
  12. Hey Ryan, Do you have these on a local car that I could stop by to hear? Thanks, Pete
  13. If I make it to the 1/4 mile track this Friday, I'll post up my results.
  14. Copy cat...a white turbo and a yellow g! I just did the softronic tune w/Tubi exhaust. Nice gains over stock. Congrats!
  15. I tend to disagree with the new SL effecting the old SL pricing. The new SL loaded is over 280K US. Used low mileage SL's are holding steady at 140 - 150's. If anything, used 560's will potentially impact the ols SL values more. BTW, an 08 SL is a more aggressive driving car than an 07 spider...worth the upgrade if that is your thing!
  16. Hey I started the thread so I get first dibs on a yellow stiched pair! Also, contrary to some here I think the CCB's are worth it for the look, feel and lack of brake dust.
  17. I had the opprotunity to drive a brand new SL today and thought some might be interested in the comparison. New SL was black, egear, CCB's and sport buckets. 1) Exterior: New SL - better rear diffuser integration and quad tailpipes looks better than old SL's setup. New SL - I like the front bumper but I'm not necessarily crazy about the black lower lip. I would prefer it to be body color. On the black car it looked OK but still looks a bit unfinished. I have an RSC LP nose on mine so I can say I like mine better from that perspective. 2) Interior: New SL - sport buckets are great and look even better. A must if you are going to order one. Everything else prety much the same. 3) E-gear trans: New SL - this is where I find the biggest improvement. From initial take off, to upshift/downshift, the new trans is far superior. I did not use launch mode but I can only imagine it would shine even more. 4) CCB's: New SL - to those that are concerned with the "grabby" feeling of the old car, the new CCB's are definitely improved. I've learned to manage mine but there is a marked improvement. 5) Exhaust Note: New SL sounds a little more refined and the old SL more course. Tough call I might prefer the old SL here. 6) Wheels - New SL's look better in person but once again not necessarily better thasn the Old SL's , just different. 7) Ride and handling feels similiar, tough to call on public roads. 8) Performance - feels stronger but we did not have the opprotunity to run them side by side. No doubt from posted videos of a 560 vs old SL, the new SL should be even better. Value - The new car is better, but I can't justify the delta of well over a 100K. I'll have one someday but that will be a couple/few years down the road. For all of you ordering them, please get CCB's and sport buckets, this will give me a greater pool to choose from in the secondary market:)
  18. 458 is ugly as balls! Paint quality is worse than my '95 Z-28 from back in the day! Even the dealer joked about how bad it is but hey it's a Ferrari...that makes it OK
  19. Factory coilovers...fully adjustable. 15mm H&R wheel spacers also a must! From a previous wheel spacer thread I had posted a while back. Car lowered, wheel spacers & lp nose. Pictures about 1/2 way down page from photobucket. http://www.lambopower.com/forum/lofiversio...php/t43214.html
  20. What's even funnier is that 9 IDIOTS bid on the toilet!!
  21. I just bought this to compliment my G SL. Great car...more daily usable than the G for me.
  22. +1 The first time I ever looked at an SLR and said "wow it looks great"!!
  23. You should have it wrapped in black leather with a Lambo logo in the center.
