  1. Automotive Sex. A manual transmission would have made it perfection!
  2. I saw Cody's ZR1 at our first airfield event, and thought it was the perfect ZR1. PERFECT!
  3. I was at the staging lane with my camera, I had a cameraman on a lift by the pacing area, another one in a lift by the entrance to the grid, a cameraman at the finish line, and a camera shooting directly over the finish line. In addition, we had a friend on his Ducati with a GoPro pacing behind the racers in a few special races. I've got all the footage, but as mentioned before, it will take me a good amount of time to review all the footage, and put it together in a video with some value, especially since I work a normal job that takes up a good amount of my time. If UGR would like some of their GoPro footage included in the video, you could send it to me, as several other people turned in their GoPro footage of the event. The more angles in the races, the better the final video will be. I talked to K.C. on Sunday, and he said he would send his footage of Jamie Carter's final race, as my finish line camera shut down on that one race (still have the footage from the camera directly over the finish line though). The purpose of having a cameraman in the pacing area is to review the hits, and see how the cars left. In the final video, you guys should be able to tell who had clean starts, and who didn't.
  4. Blue one was sold to a member on another local board I frequent, and is absolutely beautiful. A manual 570 in blue/nero would be my dream Gallardo!
  5. Just saw the ad on ebay. Wow man, just wow. I love your car! If it was a manual trans, I would sell my car for it!
  6. I find myself at a lack of words, to describe just how amazing that is. I don't believe I can choose one word that would do that car justice. Congratulations, and enjoy in good health!
  7. Wish I had known of Mr. Ed before I purchased my car (private party in Atlanta), but I was lucky and got a great, well taken care of car. I've read Ed's articles on his site, and they are very thorough, and have been passed on to my friends that are in the market for a Gallardo also. Thanks for everything you do for the members Ed!
  8. I see it used on a lot of supercharged/turbo Corvette applications, with a single nozzle before the IAT (intake air temperature) sensor, so the computer compensates based on IAT. If the meth fails, the IAT's will be high, so the computer knows to pull timing, to keep the motor from grenading. Not 100% foolproof, but it is another safety feature. A friend of mine made over 1000rwhp on his TT Corvette on pump gas + methanol, but runs C16 exclusively now. If you were to spray meth, the safest way to do it would be to have it directly sprayed into the individual intake runners. If you follow the Corvette method of being sprayed into the charge pipe before the throttle bodies and IAT, you might run a small risk of the methanol not being evenly distributed among the individual cylinders. Being a fluid, you can imagine that being force fed into the intake manifold, it won't want to turn as easily. A "direct port" methanol injection system would alleviate that concern. Now, rather than add all that complexity to your TT application, why not run E85 pump gas or C16 all the time, instead of risking your $100k motor setup?
  9. Lots of respect after reading the rebuttal. I thought the part about wearing the Lamborghini gifts was especially important, as people assume I'm an idiot when I wear my gifts also. Well done!
  10. Got another pic from the shop, with a little more editing. I thought it looked cool though
  11. Thank you! It wasn't the top of the tire that was rubbing, it was the back of the tire rubbing the fender liner when turning. I tried several heights in hopes it would work (Stock height, stock height + lift, lowered, lowered + lift) but nothing worked. I was really stressed about this last week, as I baby this car a lot, but can now drive it without worry. Pardon the crappy cell phone pic. This was when we first heard it making some noise:
  12. Thanks Jerry! Hanging out at Lambo Dallas all the time ruined me, lol. It was the next step up from the Viper, although I'm definitely going to have to give the 2013 Viper a hard look when they release it. Hope to see you at a lunch or meet in the future.
  13. Sorry, I only have one pic with the car lowered and the old tires on the front, from the shop that installed them. I was too busy driving her to get more pics, but hopefully the shop will post more pics of it. I bought the car with 6111 miles on it February 3rd, and it clicked 9000 yesterday. Someone's having a little too much fun.
  14. Just wanted to thank both Enrique (LvnLrg213) on here, and Jordan at ADV.1 for what could have been a not so great transaction, and making it just a great example of customer service. Most of you will remember Enrique's blue Velos Designwerks Gallardo with the ADV.1 5.2.1 SL's from this thread: http://www.lambopower.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=60856 I saw this thread right after I purchased my Gallardo, and instantly fell in love with the wheel design, as it was everything I wanted in an aftermarket wheel for my car. I'm not big on aftermarket wheels, as I think that most take away from the design of the car, but when I saw these, I knew it's what I wanted. When Enrique said these were up for sale, I must have been the first person to PM him. I finally purchased the wheels from Enrique about a week ago, and he had Velos Designwerks remove them and send them to get packed and shipped, and I received them last Tuesday. He sent me pics and kept me informed every step of the way, after I expressed I had been burned on a previous transaction on another board. Inspection of the wheels revealed two very small chips in the front wheel, which were not there before shipping (packing company packed and shipped the wheels). After I was notified by Dallas Performance who is installing them on my car for me, I told Enrique, and he said he would make it right, and asked that I let him know what I want to do. I told him that I would see how noticeable it was on the car, and if it wasn't distracting, I would live with it. I was happy that he was willing to make sure I was satisfied, so that went further than actually getting a refund/getting them repainted, etc. We mounted the wheels on the car Tuesday night, and ran into an issue with the wheels rubbing really bad. I won't lie, I was very disappointed, as I was leaving with the car on a trailer for TX2K12 Thursday morning, and wanted to show off the car. We lowered the car to try and get rid of the problem, but it was still touching the fender liner behind the rear wheel. I let Enrique know what was going on, and he offered to buy them back, or contact Jordan at ADV.1. Wednesday morning, I got a call from Jordan, and we talked about what was going on, and what the solution was. Jordan let me know the size that was needed to make the tires work were on back order (235/30/20), and a wider tire was ordered to have a matching set previously. He offered to find a tire that was the right size (different brand) that would allow me to take the car to Houston, and when the right brand of tires came off of back order, he would swap those out as well. I couldn't believe he would offer this to me, especially since I didn't buy them new from him, but he just wanted to make sure I was happy with the wheels! He contacted his dealer in Houston (Ted at EVS Motors) to set up the exchange, who called me to arrange the exchange. Unfortunately, I wasn't going to be able to make it there in time to do the tire swap, and they were going to be closed for TX2K12. Ted referred me to Henry at Tire and Wheel Master's in Houston, and I went there Friday first thing, and they swapped the tires out, taking great care not to damage my wheels. I can finally turn and make u-turns, without feeling like I'm going to destroy my car, which made me real nervous turning. I can't express how happy and thankful I am, at how well this all turned out! I think a lot of times we only hear about the good transactions, but I think it's really important to show how a person and shop handle a less than ideal transaction. I got a LOT of compliments on the wheels, and feel like I had the best set of wheels on a Gallardo (although I may be biased) at TX2K12. I'm a ADV.1 customer for life, and very proud to refer them to my friends. Thank you again to Enrique, Jordan at ADV.1, Taylor at Dallas Performance, Velos Designwerks, Ted at EVS Motors, and Henry at Tire and Wheel Masters. I love this car and these wheels, and am proud to have good members and sponsors on the forum that take care of each other!
  15. Spent almost a year looking for my perfect Gallardo (blue, manual trans, black interior) but always found those nasty interiors. If you didn't think about ever selling the car, I'd say go nuts. But black is just perfect for the interior on these cars, alcantara and deviated stitching is also very nice subtle differences that add to the appeal, without shooting yourself in the foot. Just my $0.02, and congratulations on getting a new car!
  16. Wow man, your car is gorgeous! I love the aero mods, and I'm a huge sucker for blue.
  17. I bet he was sad he couldn't say that he was a "young single entertainment executive", one more time.
  18. Awesome, I'm on staff at the Airfield event, so look forward to seeing it up close. Will be a good AWD shoot out!
  19. Will it be at TX2K or the Airfield event? Looks like this could be very interesting.
  20. 30whp is very impressive, not to mention 60lb savings! Great job!
