Anybody else remember this car from around 3 years ago? I bid $125k and the reserve wasn't met, could the owner have been that far ahead of the curve 3 years ago? The guy wouldn't return emails yet had the car on ebay 3 times. Any info on the car or owner?

I remember seeing it on ebay. I thought the highest it went was low 100's. I don't remember ever seeing the reserve met. I'm sure Joe Sackey would know this car.

I remember the car. Years ago, it was one of the very few LP 400's, I ever saw available "forsale" in the U.S.

THAT is the prettiest of the series. Keep the later disco Countach' - especially the 25th. But those really early cars - so CLEAN and LOW - love 'em. Wish I had the stones to go and buy one though - I'm terrified. I'd figure on having to rebuild the whole damn thing, thereby adding a new wing to the JCM Performance shop in the process of my expenditures.

cheers

Reserve not met at $125.000? That high? I was looking into the car together with the owner of the Sinatra Miura, and I got the price $100.000 from the seller. Think he was a doctor. At the time a bit expencive, and since the Miura was on the boat over here, he felt he had spent enough money, so we dropped it. Is it OK to regret now?

I also emailed the seller asking for info. I explained I was local So. California, familiar with the early model cars and seriously interested. I received no reply. I assumed he was just fishing at the time and gave up.

All's quiet on the western front with this one. I've not seen/heard anything since the Ebay listing and he provided no detailed contact info at the time.

Perhaps tomorrow?

700K :lol2: :lol2: Forget the home run ball; he wants a grand slam.

AFAIK, the eBay car had higher miles. In addition, at the time, it had a very small dent in one of the quarter panels (as described by the owner). I also remember, that it had a built-in Escort radar detector.

I recall seeing at the time on the Yahoo Vintage Lamborghini Group thread that this was determined to be an Ebay scam. Several people had said the car was put on Ebay many times and never a reply to any questions from members of the Group.

WOW !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Looking at the phone number.....+1-847-394-1291......this car is right in my neighborhood !!!!!!!!!!!!!!

About 4 years ago we had 5 Countaches within walking distance of each other. We are down to 3 right now and from the area code and prefix this one is right in the area as well.

If you think that's bad he wants twice as much for his Miura!... http://www.anamera.com/en/detail/car/8312/...i1%5BRET%5D=151

Im not sure those Ads werent authorized by the owner.

The prices are pie-in-the-sky. Note: top price ever on an LP400 $390k before taxes and fees. On a Miura SV $770k before taxes and fees.

An yes, the "ghost" Ebay car is 1120234. Christian's car is in fact 1120192, my former LP400.
