interesting they choose the 6 speed 997TT over the faster automatic, though all three cars hit 60 mph in 3.4 sec. the porsche seemed to pull away from the other 2 cars up untill about 100, when the Plastic mess-06 caught up, but the GTR was half a sec behind at that point.

from a 30 mph roll to 120+, the GTR would get beat by both. and the GTR's trap is miserable for all that hype.

My god, nearly 4,000lbs on the scale for this boat and after all of the incessant ridiculous hype all it traps is 116mph???

:lol2: :lol2: :lol2:

The laptime is purely electronic assists, means nothing to me. The straightline speed reveals the earlier press cars were absolutely overboosted ringers.

A good DD but that's about all. In the end, when Hal 9000 isn't optimizing everything and it's just a straight line, PHYSICS ARE PHYSICS. 480hp and 4,000lbs. does not a fast car make. :icon_mrgreen:

so far three acceleration times have been recorded

a Japanese model by edmunds which wasn't a press car

another by EVO to 100mph since it had a speed limiter

and the slowest an R&T tested press car, which hardly qualifies for a ringer

the latest from C&D runs 11.5@124 in the 1/4 mile.

one known difference b/w USDM and JDM cars is the Japanese cars rev limiter is set at 7500rpm vs 7000rpm for the American exports. and a race at Buttonwillow would indicate the GTR had 91 octane available vs 96 octane for Japanese cars.

It is what it is. Don't care about what it traps in Japan, as I don't live there. Don't care about what it traps on 96 octane gas.

In the US, off the showroom floor, it's a dog compared to what we were originally led to believe. And if it weren't for the AWD + launch control the US cars wouldn't even break 12.5 in the 1/4.

Physics are physics. The GTR does not have magic powers. :icon_mrgreen:

If the car truly has 480 AWHP , and weighs 3800lbs, 11.5@124 is easily possible. Thats better power to weigh than an Lp640.

480 mfg rating at the crank (they didnt dyno the three cars), actual test car weight was within 40 pounds of 4,000.

Hence why the 116mph trap is probably spot on, but you never know with the corrected figures/DA. But the 997TT and Plastic mess-06 were right where they should be, only the mythical worldbeater posted shockingly low numbers.

thats IF...

how the HELL do you trap 124 mph in one test and 116 in another? thats the difference between an SLR and a Murcielago 6.2! its not like they can get a bad launch, the GTR has a LC system.

It's even worse, the slowest Murci ever made is still a 118-120mph car. This is really more like an SLR versus an 04 Gallardo...
