TrentS Report post Posted April 25, 2008 Has anyone seen them in person yet? Did anyone test drive them ? Your insight would be appreciated. Thanks I saw one yesterday, the 3.5 version with the twin turbo 6 from the 335. I didn't drive it, but looked at it as it was the first I'd seen. Just a quick look though my concern with it would be the rear visibility, from the driver's seat it looked like it's got a huge blind spot and a small rear window. Interesting looking car/SUV or whatever the hell it's suppose to be though, it's definitely different.
DRS Report post Posted April 25, 2008 Seen it, Haven't driven it yet, perhaps next weekend. I think the car is the equiv. of an automotive MULLET. Front looks normal, and then you see what follows...WTF? The front is actually nice..even a little menacing, like a nicer lower X5, the rear is a trainwreck IMO. With the bigger wheels it's not as bad, but with the smaller base wheels it renind me of a nicer rounder AZTEK.
MasterShake Report post Posted April 25, 2008 I have seen it and driven it. The car is fantastic. It will most likely be hated by most, especially the bmw and Bangle haters, but I feel the car has a lot to offer. It's a sporty suv with lots of utility, comfort, and design. Two thumbs up. aedmon640 Report post Posted April 25, 2008 I think they look great, but I don't really understand the market placement for them. Just looks like a tiny SUV with very little room for people or cargo? whats the point?
vilhelm Report post Posted April 25, 2008 I saw it on the roads - summer of last year in Malibu It was covered up though, but cool car.
Lambochop Report post Posted April 25, 2008 I think they look great, but I don't really understand the market placement for them. Just looks like a tiny SUV with very little room for people or cargo? whats the point? Yep. Fat, ugly 3 Series. Or a modern AMC Eagle SX/4. It's as if their marketing department found the niche for lovers of fat bottomed MILF amateur porno producing types and catered the car to that market. Yes! Driving this is the same as fcuking a 1970's era water bed! BMW are assholes.
ameer Report post Posted April 25, 2008 Is the X6 being built at BMW's US factory ? Or is it built in Europe?

RedShft Report post Posted April 29, 2008 I'm still a bit undecided on the style of it, I can see it growing on me. As mentioned though, I don't seem to understand what the purpose of it is.
ameer Report post Posted April 29, 2008 I'm still a bit undecided on the style of it, I can see it growing on me. As mentioned though, I don't seem to understand what the purpose of it is. It's just a cooler sportier SUV. Does it have to have a specific purpose? It carries 4 people and their luggage in style, comfort and safety, in all kinds of weather and terrain. I really like it! ameer Report post Posted May 6, 2008 i have one in my garage. great car in my opinion. i like the drive better than the cayenne but it's just not as fast. and i simply like the looks of it. Could you post a few pics of the car, please? I am interested to see how much room there is for the passengers in the back and how big the boot is. Thanks! azmurciev12 Report post Posted May 6, 2008 here are some pics when i picked up the car. i'm in vegas presently so i'll take the pics of the interior when i get back this weekend. there is ample space in the back but if you have passengers 5'10" or above, they might have little head clearance; leg clearance is reasonable. the boot is pretty large. there will be a lot of things you can put in. D.Wiggs Report post Posted May 6, 2008 I just saw it yesterday in person and I liked it. I loved the comfort and feel in the driver's seat/ I will take the TT V8 for a spin for sure!
TrentS Report post Posted May 7, 2008 You have the 6tt or the 8tt? All of them right now are the 6 cylinders. The V-8 comes out later this year (can't remember exactly when at the moment). I go past a dealer with a couple of them out front every day, the looks are growing on me.

Thanks a lot! Looking forward to some interior pics! I am seriously considering one. I would like the V8 tt but unfortunately, it will be unsellable here, so i am looking into the diesels. zeeshan66 Report post Posted May 9, 2008 looks like ass in the pics...what is bmw thinking i would take the older one hands down. this one looks confused, like it can't make up its mind to be a car or suv
TrentS Report post Posted May 9, 2008 what is bmw thinking i would take the older one hands down. What "older one"? This is a new model/class, not a replacement for anything. They're still making the X5 & X3.
