Top Gear Tests the Nissan GTR - Stigs time...

--------------------------------------------------------------------------------

Just had Stig take it round the Top Gear Track - 1.19.7, thats the same time as the Ferrari Scuderia and 0.1s faster than the Lamb LP640. The Enzo did it in 1.19.0

Dry or wet track? Impressive.

Very impressive. I was not expecting it to be faster that fast.

I can't believe its as fast as a scuderia. That car weighs less and shifts faster than an Enzo!

Gallardo TTs are very fast, but I think the GTR with a nice big turbo would be a pretty nice challenge.

Do you mean converting the GTR to ONE big turbo? The GTR comes standard with a TT engine.

Yes that's exactly what I meant. I hope MCR implements their boost scrambler technology into this car. Unlimited Boost would be pretty fun.

I just don't understand why this car is so fast. The only thing I can think of that this car has that the F430S does not is the DSG transmission also the F430S is RWD.

The answer is the picture in my post above, it's not difficult to break it down.

AWD + CPU-controlled diffs/power/yaw to each wheel independently (without driver input) = HAL 9000 lap times.

Ok, understood.

And I agree with Mako & Hollywood996 on how it was done. I.e. all of the GTR's (Skyline GTR 32, 33, 34) are quite easy to drive as a DD; almost being mundane. But take them to the track and it's a different story, you need work to master the car with its on-board tech: AWD, AW steer etc... The R35 GTR simply adds more tech to it and takes the driver element out when it's on track. But given a good driver who has honed in on how all the electronics work and if he's competent enough to complement them, the car should fly.

Not much of a difference between the GTR and the next closest times..and the drivers are different..who knows how many "Stigs" there are...Impressive time though for the $$$ though ...

GTR with a nice big turbo would be a pretty nice challenge.

Converting a GTR to a big single would be hard as fcuk. The engine is a v6, not an i6 like the supra or old skylines......really this engine is closer to a 350z engine then a skylines.

I had a Stealth RT/TT which I had modded. Intercooler, about ever greddy part you could have save the exhaust...all in prep or doing the turbo upgrade. I thought about switching to a single turbo.....but then after doing some research on costs and all the crap I would have to switch to do it.....single turbo got scrapped.........although, so did the car as I sold it once the kid came along....

Single turbo v6, unless it is designed for it from the start (ala turbo buicks and stuff) are a PITA and the costs aren't worth the returns.

steve is right on, also, this car has a beautiful chassis altogether, and sophisticated systems, its not designed for 1000 HP and only straight lines.
