Pelican is one of the most elite communities in Newport with a few big name celebs, iirc Kobe has a place there. I'm fairly certain 7 figures won't buy you a home there kind of place and security knows every resident by name. Needless to say you don't just stroll through the gates and wander as you please. I'm fairly certain 7 figures won't buy you a home there kind of place and security knows every resident by name. Needless to say you don't just stroll through the gates and wander as you please. Homes start in the 8 figure range in the community, the CEO of broadcom lives there, his home is gated with his own guards within already gated community. Also know the founder of Hotpockets snacks has a gated within gates home inside pelican as well. So sure does raise questions on how the suspects got in. The back of his house is also facing Newport Coast Drive, it wouldn't be all that hard for someone to run up the hill and get over the wall. Its very likely that someone let them in. That would be the easiest way to get into a gated community. Just because there is a gate does not always mean the place is secure like the federal reserve. I am pretty sure someone that is determined to get in and do something like this is not a small time thief. This is DEFINITELY a weird one..... My spidey sense is tingling all over. They should be looking at who he has been dealing with. I am sure the motive is more than just to rob someone because they would have a greater chance finding a slightly easier place.
