Russell Pranged! Truck crashes into Brand's borrowed Lamborghini

Russell Brand was left shaken after a huge truck ploughed into his rented Lamborghini car.

The comedian and a friend were driving around Manhattan in the £150,000 vehicle when they were pranged from behind.

The 35-year-old Brit was bruised and upset over the estimated £6,000 damage following the accident on Friday night.

The funnyman was trapped in the passenger's seat following the collision and had to climb out of the driver's door.

A source told the Mirror: 'The whole incident was pretty terrifying. Russell was very shaken.

'He refused to go to A&E despite severe bruising on his arm and cuts. He's gutted as he'd only just taken loan of the car.'

Brand has only taken loan of the car recently after falling for the vehicle during a visit to a car dealership for his new film Arthur.

A manager at Manhattan Motor Cars said Brand had hired the car - owned by a third party - through them for his 'personal use'.

The manager said: 'It's not actually one of our cars. Someone lent it to him through us.'

Brand played down the crash, writing on his Twitter page today: 'That Lamborghini crash was hardly Jimmy Dean territory, I barely spilled my espresso.'

Brand is currently filming the remake of Dudley Moore classic Arthur in New York, alongside Dame Helen Mirren.

The comedian plays Arthur, a drunk playboy who is told to choose between his inheritance or love.

Oscar winner Mirren will play a female version of Sir John Gielgud's valet, who acts like a surrogate parental figure to the spoiled Arthur.

Also in the cast is Jennifer Garner, as Arthur's wealthy fiancee and newcomer Greta Gerwig, who plays Arthur's penniless love interest.

Oh man, that is not good. Will be interesting if the owners insurance hears about him renting his car out what would happen. Thank goodness it is the truckers fault.

It's Lambo's demo.

Dude, the 570 looks so sick in black. Lambo Newport beach has one that I saw a couple of weeks back, I couldn't stop staring at it. Amazing. There's just something about it.

The 570 looks hot in black!
