adam76 Report post Posted September 23, 2010 YESSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSSS!!!!!!!! My delta was quite a bit more too, like 70k, did new 560, and still yes. Night and day diff, if just for the trans. 30k is no brainer. went from Telesto 2008 SL to Telesto 2009 560 +
Turbo50Mike Report post Posted September 23, 2010 Errr.....It's a tough call. Two different cars. The SL is just plain awesome with all the CF, and the RAW feel of the car. The 560 is more refined and not as radical. Depends what you are looking for. The trans and engine are light years ahead in the 560, so if you have any gripes with the current powertrain, the 560 will NOT disappoint. PCJR Report post Posted September 24, 2010 Thanks Mike & Adam....I was afraid someone was going to say exactly that! I did drive an SL 570 and I was very impressed with the egear engagement and overall refinement. I found a sweet rosso vic 09, we'll see what happens:)
Ag02M5 Report post Posted September 24, 2010 I'm scared to drive a 560 for fear I will no longer be content with the SL.

Ag02M5 Report post Posted September 24, 2010 Cool. I def. need to stay away from the 570 tho.
LAUTLOS Report post Posted September 24, 2010 > I prefer the SL to be honest! Me too. I prefer the old head lights -- I find the new ones too small. I prefer the old rear end -- I find the new one quite boring. I prefer the old gill-like cooling vents above the rear wheels. I cannot stand the new chrome buttons in the center dash. The 560 engine is a nice refinement, but not St'####-made. The 560 transmission is a nice refinement, but I'm still happy. The 570 wasn't available until this summer. The 570 seats I like... but they limit access to the storage. Since I'm using that storage every day, I won't get the seats. The 570 nose I like... except for the look & feel of the material that the left/right scoops are made from. In particular, I worry about easy scratching, as well as color-fading. So... I have not yet decided whether I'll get me a 570 nose for my original SL.
TRANSAMERA Report post Posted September 24, 2010 Cool. I def. need to stay away from the 570 tho. Last time I was offered to drive, I declined, I had just bought the Spyder and didn't want to ruin the feeling
adam76 Report post Posted September 24, 2010 im not sure why people are saying they are so diff, i just dont see it, IMO. the "rawness" is just not the same diff you experience between the 430 and Scud. the 560 is pretty much the same car, without the annoyances of the older SL, again IMO. I put over 10k miles on my SL in the last year, and thats with storage during the Chicago winter. if we water it all down to pure driving enjoyment...the 560 wins hands down for me. ive driven all on a track, including the 570, and the 570 did not compel me enough to stick with the SL, the 560 was good enough, plus i want to mod the car into something more personal. just go drive the 560 and decide for yourself...i can say from the first day i drove one though, i knew i had to make the move ASAP

matherto Report post Posted September 26, 2010 The Superleggera is certainly more unique and special than the LP560. I think it probably still looks better as well, though the revised headlights and rear lights have certainly grown on me since the 560 was launched. Cannot comment on what they'd be like to drive but I'd imagine the 560 will definitely be discernably faster, it's just whether you could feel it during everyday driving. PCJR Report post Posted September 28, 2010 no 570-SL? Would love to but simply can't justify $125K+ Thanks for all of the other replies! Anyone interested in a yellow 3500 mile SL w/RSC front bumper conversion?
