emilio Report post Posted July 2, 2013 I'm sorry Roman, there must be an error: "Ansa Sport" and "boring sound" cannot be joined. Nobody ever told me my car has a boring sound! i cannot take out my car from the box early in the morning or i would wake up all my neighbors! Poor fit is very strange, unless you have the USA rear bumper: it doesn't fit unless you ask in advance you need the USA bumper type. You need connecting tubes too, and if you have the cat manifolds (those shitty insulated tubes for FI cars) you need the manifolds too (the tubes coming out engine exhaust ports on the heads side). Poor finish: yes, the Ansa has not a perfect finishing, but just in the part under the car, the visible part is good finished. ciao exactly! i heard the most common sport exhausts for countach ...from stock to Al burtoni to Kriesseg to Tubi ...etc the ANSA and QS have the right good 80's sound imo the kriesseg is too "modern F1" for an old car like the countach...it sounds good but does not match well with the car look-period as for the quality: i had a 30 years old ANSA SPORT on my old S...it is still on the car with current owner today and worcking perfect as for finish: ANSA is really hand made and it looks so, so i am sure there are exhausts with better finish
Roman Report post Posted July 2, 2013 ok they never heard one so No... These are people who bought them... And are unhappy. Bottom line for me, the Ansa is out. I guess its between the QS and the Larini

I'm saying "That sounds Boring"... Your response is "Its not boring, it sounds like the 80s" Lets bottom line this: "Sounds like the 80s= boring". Roman Report post Posted July 2, 2013 well, go for the Larini it is different Thats what took me three pages to discover... Diagram of the thread since I rebooted it three days ago: R: "Tell me about exhaust, my priority is X" QS guys: "Get the QS, it is Y and Z" RD: "What about X?" QS Guys "Better X than stock" RD: "I want a LOT better X than stock." Enter the ANSA guys: "Then get an Ansa, its A&B." RD: "What about X?" Ansa guys: "X Much better than stock" Enter Larini guys: ""Larini is X" Ansa guys "But its not A&B" RD "but is it X?" Ansa guys "We dont care about X, We care about A&B." I would have to move my license plate up, and Im not doing that. My one downside now is, I havent been able to hear a larini... And thats a bit of a problem as my taste is obviously different than the rest of the known universe. Edit.. I just looked at the picture of the Kreisseig for the QV and it doesnt have the "Sticking up in the air pipes" like the 25th does... Id probably have to lose my inboard toasters though... But Im not hugely opposed to that.
Albert-LP Report post Posted July 2, 2013 3D opener, post Feb 20 2011, 08:43 PM Post #1: Anyone have any recommendations for a sport exhaust system? I'm looking at the orginal Ansa but was wondering if anyone had any other suggestions? Thanks! Dear Bartman, maybe CT is just an old boring car and maybe an old "boring" exhaust like the Ansa Sport perfectly fit in that old and boring car. I forgot to say you I'm not an Ansa dealer nor a Quicksilver dealer nor i have any money advantage whatever exhaust you get. Ansa is available both in steel and stainless steel, Quicksilver in Stainless steel. Retail price of the Ansa is (more or less, this is what i remember) 1700 euro + 21% VAT. I asked two times here to know the QS price but there was no answer so i do not know which of the two is cheaper, but at the end they probably are more or less the same thing as the QS looks to be a later copy of the Ansa Sport. My car wears a steel Ansa Sport since three years and it still works: i think it will last by far longer than the engine. Have a nice choice. ciao

qvpower Report post Posted July 2, 2013 So the copy is better? Once i saw an excellent Countach copy with a 5.7 liter Chevy V8 in the engine bay that had a fantastic chrome finish on the head covers and a wonderful Holley with a giant chromed air filter cap: that had a by far better finish, price, reliability, weldings (and fitting...) than my very expensive V12 five liter Italian made engine with six bad finished Weber carbs and just a black air filter cover... ciao I think that's a bit different comparison. What I'd look for is the finish on the overall exhaust rather than focus on name. Sloppy welds even on areas where not viewable doesnt mean it should be acceptable. I'm not sure if I was the buyer I would accept anything less than perfect workmanship.

qvpower Report post Posted July 2, 2013 People are getting their panties in a bunch over exhaust choices..its noo big deal people. I didn't know they wore panties?... Lol. Seriously, as I stated before, quality acceptable to you and sound acceptable to you along with agreeable price is all you need to know... A sticker or a plaque showing the brand becomes irrelevant. I put a ms straight race exhaust on based on a few considerations, the quality of the exhaust and sound. Did I ever heard of ms racing then? Not really....and this was like 5-6 years ago. Allan-Herbie Report post Posted July 2, 2013 I think one of the biggest factors that changes the sound between the carbed F/I cars is the design of the F/I header... Those must be changed.
