Lamborghini Aventador LP 700-4 makes its Asian premiere at Auto Shanghai 2011, alongside special ‘Italian’ unveil for Gallardo LP 550-2 Tricolore.

19th April 2011, Shanghai/Sant’#### Bolognese - The V12 Lamborghini

Aventador LP 700-4 makes its Chinese debut on Lamborghini’s stand at the

Auto Shanghai 2011. The new V12 flagship of the Lamborghini super sports

car brand is redefining the super sports car market, with not only

extraordinary performance but with lightweight engineering technologies

and unparalleled design.

Lamborghini is also unveiling the Gallardo LP 550-2 Tricolore at a special

off-site event held in the Shanghai Expo: a fitting location for the exclusive

special edition of the highly successful Lamborghini Gallardo model designed

to pay homage to Italy.

China is an extremely important market for Lamborghini, achieving over

150% sales growth in 2010 compared to 2009.

In 2011 Lamborghini will expand its dealership network to 20 dealers from

fourteen today. Lamborghini has now state of the art sales and service at

facilities Lamborghini in Shanghai (with two showrooms), Guangzhou,

Beijing, Chengdu, Shenzhen, Hangzhou, Dalian, Qingdao, Wuhan, Xiamen,

Chongqing, Kunming, Tianjin, making a total of fourteen locations in

mainland China.

Stephan Winkelmann, President and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, said:

“Our presence at Auto Shanghai 2011 reflects the importance of the Chinese

market, which is now our second most significant after the USA. The appeal

of the Lamborghini brand in China is illustrated by the launch here of the

Gallardo LP 550-2 Tricolore: definitively Italian, and with all the performance

and handling a Lamborghini Gallardo promises. Demand for our cars

continues to grow: our worldwide order book for the Lamborghini LP 700-4

Aventador is already eighteen months ahead of production.”

Lamborghini has also chosen the occasion of the Shanghai motor show to

unveil its new exhibition stand. A powerful black monolithic structure with

huge external walls, that display Lamborghini’s famous brand films during

shows, complement the white interior, which creates a perfect backdrop for

Collezione Automobili Lamborghini – Lamborghini’s official merchandise

range. The cars, as always, are the protagonists of the display and this new

stage is designed to display the cars to their maximum, reflecting the

extreme, uncompromising and Italian style of Lamborghini with no

detraction from the cars themselves.

“The Lamborghini brand has very strong appeal in China, so it is fitting we

should launch our new show stand here,” said Stephan Winkelmann.

“Lamborghini also runs regular events in China, including at least one track

day every month, Winter and Track Academies, which allows our clients to

explore the Lamborghini brand and lifestyle alongside the cars.”

While you are in Italy, go some tailors. I don't think it looks good, but people do wear it like that, not only suits also regular classy pants. :)

he looks ridiculous, his pants are way too short and the suit seems two sizes too small.

Saw it today. They only had the orange one. Must have shipped the other two off. I really wanted to see white and grigio. The other two cars were Gallardos -- white SE, and white something else that had the two stripes on the hood like the 570 Spyder, but it was a coupe. No idea if it was just a painted car or a special edition.

It was cool. Lots of nice lines and cuts, read end looked cool, but still a bit underwhelmed. Maybe it was just the color. I assumed it would be less crowded on Tuesday at 130, but the place was super crowded, maybe looked at it for a couple minutes. Didn't see the doors open. A 45 year old woman was sitting in it the whole time and looking it over.

I actually thought the white 560 with black roof looked cooler.

OT: There was also a brownish Bugatti SS with cream interior, and they had the hybrid 918 race car. The Porsche stand was gay. The 918 was all the way in the back, super far away behind all the other Porsches. Not a big deal except you couldn't even walk around the regular ones. They only let certain people walk around the stand, like VIP or something. Who the fcuk feels VIP walking around a bunch of cars that are waiting at the dealership? M5 looked like an M5, didn't bother to look for the Ferrari FF. Had a white One-77. Skipped the RR and Bentley stuff. Maybach was there for some reason. Just looked like all the same Maybach for the last 7 years. CLS looks kinda nice. Everything was pretty much standard auto show stuff.

I was there on Tuesday Brian, i loved the new LP700, even tho it looked a lot like the LP560 bicolor next to it, personally, i love more of the bulky lines of the reventon. But I still loved the LP700. The seating position is very good, the new doors are fine. but it didn't feel that much different than the LP640. They've got 9 already in Shanghai, not too bad.

the one with the stripes is the tri-color. no one bought it so far appearntly, bicolor has been selling pretty well.
