alpha6164 Report post Posted March 28, 2013 Just pulled the trigger on the 06 Murci i had posted earlier Arancio Atlas yesterday. The PPI went well only issue is both fron shocks are leaking which from my search appears to be very common and annoying problem. Besides dropping $2500 on each shock are there any other options? I was searaching this mornig and came across this site that shows rebuilt Koni shocks for $675 which would be a steal assuming it is legit and done right. Does anyone have experience with this place ? ItalianCarParts.com

kaoss Report post Posted March 28, 2013 I have used them in the past for shock rebuilding...they are SLOW but do a good job and their prices were as advertised. He's In Oregon and seldom answers his phone, but he does return calls. I think he pretty much does it in his spare time, but like I said, he did perform and it was a HUGE savings over new shocks. Worth the wait for the cost savings.
emanon Report post Posted March 28, 2013 I don't have direct experience with the murci shocks, but if the shocks can be rebuilt, it's a pretty simple procedure. New seals, new oil, nitrogen charge and you're good to go. I'd check with a few local shops or guys who do suspension work on race cars, even offroad stuff. I bet you can get them rebuilt for a couple hundred a piece.
kaoss Report post Posted March 28, 2013 I think you are correct in using local shops, however what italian car parts said was that is wasn't the process as much as it was obtaining the seals and parts from KONI. I didn't research it further after my conversation with him, cause I needed the shocks done, so I sent them to him and they were returned as he promised and still no issues to this day. emanon Report post Posted March 28, 2013 Parts availability could be interesting... I tend to think they would use parts which interchange with other shocks. I've used these guys with success in the past on other projects. http://performanceshock.com/ http://www.propartsusa.com/

Alpha, try calling supercar specialists in Scottsdale. There is someone there who rebuilds them too.
szabo_martin Report post Posted March 28, 2013 I'd make sure to use a shop that someone on here has actually used and can vouch for. There are a lot of people offering the service, but I've seen too many cases where the shocks come back, get insta;lled, and first time the lift system is used they leak. They're simple and they're not. The shock part is basic, but the lift applies such a massive load on the seals.

If it were just the shock, it would be cheaper. I'm happy with the results and I had both fronts rebuilt, no leak and worked perfectly immediately.
