AudiBull Report post Posted August 19, 2013 My NEXT Post will be the Birth Cry! If I were you I would put in a fire suppression system for karma's sake. No one wants to see a Thricebaked Bull. Looks good so far.
Surpassing_The_Heavens Report post Posted August 20, 2013 So, I clicked on this thread and got taken to the last page. Scroll and here I thought a COP conversion took place, well it kinda' did, the 4.2 swap is interesting and completely a sneak attack to what I thought would be the case. I knew I had to take a peak at the first page when I saw the custom rear-sub frame. Wow. What were some of the things Turbo Joe said that needed to be changed that got the previous dude pissed? What about gear box? Audi unit too? Pics of the Tri-Five Chevy?
Twicebaked Report post Posted August 20, 2013 Turbo Joe is an automotive engineer and teacher at a local collage, he specializes in wiring go figure with a nick name like turbo Joe. I had hired him to help the first builder on the mess of a harness the builder was trying to adapt to the car, 2001 Audi A8 wire harness. I knew it would not work but who am I just the client.. Turbo Joe went in and pointed out WHY the builders work would not work and got thrown out of the shop. After Turbo Joe got booted the builder sent him a text that I cant post here and Turbo Joe replied, " I can See Why the Project is in the state that it is" the response from teh builder was and I quote " " It went down hill from there with the former builder.. Sad to say its going to be a long while before this gets finished due to $$ issues out of my control.
Surpassing_The_Heavens Report post Posted August 23, 2013 Well, even if it doesn't get finished for a while, I'm still looking forward to the end result. Do post VIDS of you roaming around in the car.
Twicebaked Report post Posted August 25, 2013 Birth Cry still not here But its close... If any of you have photos of the car at Concorso please email them to me [email protected] thanks!
Kerplop Report post Posted August 25, 2013 I think making a new harness is generally easier than trying to adapt one since in the long run you can end up ensuring you have it exactly the way you want it. Turbo Joe sounds like a smart cookie, would be fun to talk to him and talk wiring and harnesses with him haha.
Twicebaked Report post Posted August 25, 2013 When he works he puts in his ear phones and NOTHING disrupts him hes a machine.. The harness is super clean just the ignition trigger is now going external. Very cool team on the project now Eric and his TED's Hot Rod team are just a hoot. They are having an open house in late September Riverside Ca. Would be worth the look he builds some sweet rides.

Haha, that's about the only way I can get things done. I have terrible ADHD. Headphones, listen to some Tool and I'm all good to go. You'll have to post some pictures sometime of the other builds. Thanks for keeping us up on the progress!

Hers is the first fire up timing was on.. It jumped time the "builder" did not have the tension-er in properly. heads are coming off and valves checked. Here is the first fire up. Timing was better LOL...

Twicebaked Report post Posted September 2, 2013 Yes we are pulling it apart. NOTHING ALAN LEE did was done correctly, our bad for even thinking he had the motor right. So we re-re-re-do. The good part here is well if there is a good part, nothing is exotic on the motor so if need be we drop in a new motor and put the Borla induction on it. The trans he built we already have lined up a replacement.. Yes he is that bad.

My race motor is probably not nearly as expensive as yours but simple mistakes can be costly, so I can understand the frustration and stress of that stuff. No bit of motorwork is cheap (Unless it's cheap). Hopefully the next go around will be better for you. What kind of motor is it that you've got in that thing? Twicebaked Report post Posted September 2, 2013 Audi 4.2L V8 sticking with the V.A.G. motor because Lambo does not make a V8 any longer so if they had to get one it would be the Audi. You can get the R8 with the 4.2 or the Lambo V10 but you cant get it 2wd. You can get the G 2wd but not with the V8 so we went Audi V8 2wd. As it was but put in long wise.. Kerplop Report post Posted September 2, 2013 Cool stuff! Interesting motor but a nice modern twist to things for reliability. Let us know how the progress or motor build works. I love engine porn.
