BLK85 Report post Posted December 3, 2016 http://www.foxnews.com/us/2016/12/02/two-m...g-collapse.html I was shocked when I first saw this today. Two people were trapped in the building collapse. One was saved as well as her dog(Husky). The other was not so lucky. I didnt know either but I have spent time in that building many times, And as recent as Saturday night walked right by the place. Really a sad ordeal.

Smash Boy Report post Posted December 3, 2016 Sad stuff, I'm sure you're a bit rattled by it. Will be interesting to see what the cause of this was.
BLK85 Report post Posted December 3, 2016 Dang Brian! Really sad. Do you have volunteer fire in Sioux Falls? I'm moving there in January. Look forward to meeting you. We have paid Fire here. A lot of the smaller communities around do have volunteer Fire departments. I messaged you back on Facebook about the other. cake Report post Posted December 3, 2016 Sad. RIP to the victim. Hoping they learn the cause so it doesn't happen again.
BLK85 Report post Posted December 3, 2016 Sad stuff, I'm sure you're a bit rattled by it. Will be interesting to see what the cause of this was. Local media is hinting that a construction crew took out a load bearing wall. But the wall that was taken out was the opposite direction of where the building collapsed. So who knows. key03 Report post Posted December 3, 2016 That really is sad. Sounds like they were removing a masonry wall and replacing it. These old masonry and wood buildings are very delicate and need proper shoring during any kind of work in them. We have a lot of them in Chicago and as an architect I am always nervous working in them. You have to be very cautious and proceed very slowly when dismantling them. BLK85 Report post Posted December 3, 2016 When I saw the pic of the dog I lost it... My brother was EMT in SF for a while. Im a huge animal fan too, your reaction was probably similar to mine. There was 3 dogs total there. One other was recovered. A Beagle. My dog is part Beagle so I love that. One is still missing and presumed dead.
