  1. How many cars are you anticipating? Is it Lamborghini only? Where is the original post?
  2. I believe it went up yesterday and now I can't find it. Is it still on?
  3. Better looking......not faster. Creepy handling at the limit.
  4. I agree. Porsche made thousands of 996 TT's and will make thousands of the 997 TT. The GT2 limited production and it's rather hairly reputation will always make it worth more. However I suspect in the real world a 996tt or a 997 tt is a faster point a to point b car for an average driver. Both cars are incrediblely easy to drive very quickly. I suspect that 993 TT's will eventually be worth more than either the 996/997tt's because they made a lot less and it has the cache of being of last aircooled turbo Porsche, plus they look great.
  5. I would say the 997 tt. A much much easier car to drive very quickly. 996 GT2's are known for killing people.
  6. Plus TR 512M's suck ass.......I'd rather have a Porsche '95 928 GTS....that was a great car. Early TR's if you are mad can be got for $70k or less. That engine has to be removed for almost any type of service. It's one of the last really bad cars Ferrari made, well that and the 348, 465, 612, 360, early 550's............. They are on drugs.......
  7. I think how you drive it will determine the life/reliability as with all exotics. It's the one variable Heffner cannot control.
  8. That's weird I always thought SE's were 05 only....... Anybody?
  9. SE were 06's? I thought it was a late 05 model. I was my understanding that 06 G was an SE without the paint job.....
  10. RR Sport Supercharged and BMW 328i
  11. Check this link out....still think it's safe. http://www.cnn.com/2008/WORLD/americas/08/...ref=mpstoryview U.S. tourist hacked to death, wife says Woman says robbers used machetes to kill husband and wound her Attack occurred on retired couple's sailboat on lake in northeastern Guatemala Woman recovering in hospital in Guatemala, awaits children's arrival GUATEMALA CITY, Guatemala (AP) -- Robbers armed with machetes hacked a U.S. tourist to death and seriously wounded his wife in an attack aboard the couple's sailboat in northeastern Guatemala, the woman told The Associated Press. In a telephone interview Sunday from her hospital bed, Nancy Dryden, 67, said her husband, Daniel Perry Dryden, 66, was killed by four men who boarded their boat late Saturday while it was anchored in Lake Izabal. "They poked us and stabbed us with the machetes, and they were asking for money, specifically dollars," said Dryden, who was listed in stable condition at a hospital in the lakeside town of Morales. The thieves were apparently unhappy with the take. "We had a few quetzales [Guatemala's currency], but we had no dollars with us on the boat," Dryden recounted. The Drydens, who are retired and live near Anchorage, Alaska, had bought the boat in February. They were equipping the vessel in preparation for a voyage into the Caribbean and eventually to the eastern coast of the United States. Dryden said the four assailants may have reached the boat by swimming from shore and brandished long machetes that "seemed liked curved swords." After assaulting the couple, the men demanded she hand over the keys to the vessel, which has an auxiliary motor. When she didn't -- she was unable to tell whether they wanted the keys to the boat, or a small dinghy the couple used to get to shore -- the men left, also apparently by swimming. Dryden struggled over to the boat's radio and sent out a distress call. "I said we need help. ... I said my husband was not moving," Dryden recalled. She said she expects her children to arrive in Guatemala on Monday and plans to be transferred to the United States for medical care. Assistant Police Commissioner Luis Say said the attack is under investigation. Lake Izabal, near Guatemala's Caribbean coast, is popular among tourists for its jungle scenery and wildlife. In March, protesting farmers briefly kidnapped four Belgian tourists at Lake Izabal to press for the release of a jailed activist. They were released unharmed
  12. Anybody know how it turned out? What are those things mounted horizantally about 3/4's up the windscreen on each side?
  13. Of course he is. He just that bought that CCX in Houston.
  14. buy an LP 560.....the R8 got crushed in the latest side by side test
  15. did you strip out the car? if not add 100-150 lbs.
  16. Awesome car.....just not digging the color.
  17. I read somewhere, I think it was in Motorweek a few months ago when they had that group test with the TT G and the F-GT Turbo. They mentioned that Heffner was building a quad turbo Murci. Haven't heard anything since though.
  18. As somebody that owns several businesses. AMEX is a double edged sword. Ever wonder why a lot businesses will not carry AMEX. They give you the standard BS it costs too much. That's not it. It's because AMEX ALWAYS sides with their consumer customer. Always. Regardless of what proof of contracts, signatures etc. the vendor has..........We process hundreds if not thousand of AMEX transactions a week and while you only get a few deadbeats they always win.....and it costs too much to chase a $250-$500 transaction. I had a customer with a black card, dispute a $15k charge after she had given three bad amex cc numbers. No reason given other than she was a heroin user getting divorced as we found out. AMX sided with her and it took us 18 months with litigation to get the money back......cost me $5K and she had declared bk in the meantime. So no money. He had to go back to AMEX and sue again and got the $10k back plus our incurred expenses.....only took 2.5 yrs. Not worth it. We see more and more of this as the economy continues to collapse. If the banks fail....it's all over. Data point...... FDIC is insured for $60 billion. INDYMAC Bailout will cost the FDIC $8 billion. 2nd largest bank failure in US history. Being investigated for fraud. FDIC assets are $60 billion......almost 14% of reserve is gone on one bank. NPR reported this morning that 90-150 more banks will fail in the next 18 months......do the math. That $100,000 FDIC insurance that keeps the economy stable may be blown out.... Here's a tip for the conservative investor....buy cd's in euro's......get 5% return plus the increased value against a continually declining US dollar. No FDIC issues. Your money is safe.
  19. AMX always sides with the consumer.......
  20. I had the same problem on my 01 966TT. Lost a few batteries and then the alternator. Lots of heat from the turbos in the engine will destroy parts. The battery (in the front trunk) isn't that big and it has to do a lot of cranking. Put it down as an operating cost. Heat will destroy hoses, water pumps and turbos as well. Very tight engine bay. 1st gear syncho is very weak also. Be careful if you track it. Make sure it is under warranty. If you blow out 1st gear, Porsche (at least when i owned one) won't sell you the syncho. They make you replace the whole tranny. As a DD they are bullet proof. A great truely useable car, just a pity Porsche interiors of this era were awful. Basically the same as a base Boxster with 3rd grade leather.
