  1. i agree and was going to say the same thing. these cars were cheap a couple years ago. i don't know what happened since then.
  2. my mother has one. very good SUV. you may want to consider the LandRover Disco 4 as well.
  3. i had the previous gen cayenne turbo. while the new one should be better, my biggest gripe is the stiffer ride. yes it's better handling and more precise, but really for a DD, i would rather have the comfort offered of the ML63. it's faster on the straights, more comfortable, and cheaper... to me that equates to better value -but resale might be a different story.
  4. I have a 2013 ML 63 with performance pack. I like it very much because there is a lot of power, the ride is supple and the interior is reasonably luxurious. I got a preowned with low miles which I think is a very good value for the car. There's pretty good trunk space and rear seat legroom. Mine has a rear entertainment as well for the children.
  5. That's the problem, I am not since these cars are not available here in my country. Well, I'll be in the US around November so hopefully I get to do that.
  6. which do you think is the better car to keep, F12 or the SLS Black Series?? seems like the latest Merc have been getting very good reviews but i haven't read a real world customer based assessment of the car (perhaps it's not even out yet in europe). the F12 got rave reviews as well from journalists (all ferraris do), but 2 guys on the mclaren forum who has had an F12 preferred the 12C. what do you guys think?
  7. how were they able to custom tune, piggyback ECu or reflash??
  8. but that's what kills the Egear clutch so fast. being stuck in traffic and the egear slipping the clutch so much. frankly, i didn't mind getting stuck in traffic in my manual murcie. as i said, clutch is so soft that it's not stressful. try being stuck in traffic in a GT3RS or a porsche 930, that's what i call a nightmare... clutch is stiff as hell.
  9. i will be biased because i never really liked the 458. it's definitely a good car but i was expecting more in terms of straightline performance considering the technology in the car. i love the manual LP640. with decat, exhaust and RWD i reckon it's going to be one fast car. with those mods, it might be able to close the gap to the 670SV and if it does then it's one fast car. i like the manual because it brings in some old world charm of rowing thru the gears but gives you the comfort and reliability of a modern vehicle in the LP640. plus the clutch and gearshift in the LP640 is very easy to operate which makes the car a pleasure to drive. i am not a big fan of the E-gear system. i have driven my friends LP670 and i'm still left with preferring a manual. i don't think the 09 Egear can be better than the one in the 670SV. i didn't like the jerkiness and i didn't like the violent feel of the shifts when on sport mode. i much prefer being able to shift fast but smooth as you would be able to on a manual tranny - less trouble/ maintenance to think about as well. i have over 12000miles on my murcie and my clutch still engages properly. while my friend on the 670SV has 7000 miles (no burnouts or anything crazy) and is needing a replacement. he has also been stranded because the Egear would not shift as the ECU required a hard reset. some things to consider especially if you want to use the car more often than be looking at it in the garage.
  10. it might feel that way but i think a stock LP640 will still edge it out. i've heard it so many times how people thought the 458 was fast but when raced side by side, it wasn't afterall. the sensation in the ferrari is like nothing else. however, if you are able to do the standard mods on the LP640 like decat and exhaust, it can leave behind the 458. i've tested the cars here in the philippines... at least i could say this would be the outcome given our conditions. a manual LP640 is SWEET. i got to drive one and it was fantastic. go for that if you can. you'll have less headache and maintenance to worry about too.
  11. on the contrary, i think it has tons of respect from the enthusiast community. the car won't appreciate so much if people didn't like and respect the car. it's soo good that owners rarely sell them or even buy multiple units which causes the price to go up. and as to a newer ferrari or lambo outperforming it. this is very much arguable. even if you get the factory pulley and tune upgrade, it's going to leave behind modern ferraris and lambos.
  12. they are not so rare. i think they made over 3500 units. so really to me i am very surprised that the price continues to go up. amazing.
  13. i paid $168K for my black with silver stripes with 2800miles about 1.5 years ago. when i look at the dealer sites, it's quite difficult to find a car for sale with less than 5K miles for less than $200K nowadays. my buddy who got a red one with 200 miles about 6 months earlier than me paid $142K, i think. where did they go? i'm sure a lot of them got exported. here in the philippines, we have about 20-25 FGTs and ALL of them came from the US. it's not many but if you factor that all other countries are importing from the US, it all adds up. why they are rising in price? i think the dealers are hoarding the cars and are willing to sit on it. they would rather wait and get their price than make a deal. the owners are not selling while some have multiple units. here in our country, not 1 FGT was sold by it's original owner. nobody here wants to sell. i figure something similar happens in the US as well which drives up the prices. if you get one at a high price, at least you can be assured it's not going to go down significantly so the difference is the capex is simply larger.
  14. is this car really that good? 740hp, dual clutch, RWD. i wonder if it's really that fast. the interior (as usual) looks gorgeous. seems like a nice GT car. anybody here have any experience driving this car? i've heard all the praises from the journalists and ferrarichat but those guys never say anything bad about the prancing donkey. these things are reasonably priced in europe. like this specific car is only $340K and ready for delivery.
  15. i was going to mention the same thing. the mechanic that used to service my cars scratches his head on the electronic gremlims he sees with the arnages that he services. he told it's very nice but too many issues with electronics. as for the complete no throttle response and have to turn off (reset) the car, i experience that from rarely on my '94 MB e500. i think it's related to the traction control system but never got it figured out. i just turn off the car for 1o seconds and start it again. it works right away. i know it sucks but never bothered as the car is so old and i very rarely use it. however, on an arnage i would be worried. well another bad news about the car from another reliable source. sucks!
  16. i'm still itching for this car. i saw an 09 final series in anthracite color several months ago at marshal goldmann, how i wish i could have gotten that car.
  17. that's sad if true. but nonetheless i wouldn't believe it until it is done on customer vehicles. i've seen it time and again that these ferraris not living up to the factory/ magazine claims. i recall back in 2003 when there was all this rage on how fast the F430 is, that it would be faster than the murcielago as shown by the press performance numbers. wow! with the numerous cars i've seen and having owned, the 430 is not even close to the murcie. and the old LP570 is still faster than a 458.
  18. damn! i should start using my 512tr then. it's been sitting for 2 months straight already.
  19. nice to have 7 seats. don't understand how the new RR Sport will seat 7 but the big RR does not -not even an option. but the report doesn't mention it. from the looks of it, the EWB is just to give more legroom for the rear passengers
  20. there are issues that come up sparingly on the mclaren forum. most have to do with the nav/radio system hanging or the bluetooth not operating properly. there was one incident which he had damaged engine; one that had overheating issues; and several with transmission oil leaks (which were all replaced by the factory). i got my MP4 on July 2012. it has about 2500 miles only. the only issue that has come early in the ownership was a slight leak in the suspension hydraulic fluid. dealer had to tighter some bolts and that's it. the car has had the update done and annual service. no other issue ever since. i've taken it to a mile run and track and it performed flawlessly.
  21. like i said above, after all the mods i did to my murcie, it was only as fast as a stock LP640 - dead even. imagine if you could do all those bolt on mods to the LP640 and hope it can get close to the performance of the 670SV. if it comes close to it, which i think it will, the difference from the 6.2 Murcie is very substantial!!! also, after driving the LP640, the car just feels more refined. the way experience is similar but simply on a higher level. the question is, is it worth the price differential?
  22. this is precisely what i was trying to get at
