The 599 is an 11.something at 130mph car, and Im probably being generous here. But even being generous doesnt matter, the veyron is a 10-flat at 140+ mph car. The difference between the two is massive. MASSIVE.

Its 18k gold all the way around, and has "Faisal" inscribed in Arabic on the dial, along with the Saudi Crest/Coat of Arms/whatever it is. Its obviously made to order, but is the brand well regarded?

Cups vs PS2s=huge difference. The Cup is an R-compound tire. DIfferent lines and much higher speeds through corners. I dont know about the actual numbers but on a huge track I would imagine R-compounds would make a huge difference in ET vs regular street tires.

Had an 01 with a blower on it. 300rwhp, and dead reliable. All I did in 25k boosted miles was change the oil. A little twitchy, especially when the stock S02s are worn. Switch to S03s in a slightly wider rear to drastically improve wet traction. The blower retained stock drive characteristics, and driveability. Little below 6000rpm, but the crossover was a lot more violent. Loved it. Miss it sometimes.

Allan, you will never get a public road. I looked into this about a year ago and then it got sidetracked. An airfield is your only shot at this. The setup a few weeks ago never got off the ground. I dont think they had all the logistics worked out. Its pretty challenging to get everything worked out in terms of safety, rules, insurance, etc. If you run into an insurance issue, let me know, I had found someone who would cover an event like this. Maybe I should get back to beating that drum here in CA and see if I can make something happen. Theres always the road we did the bike/POS/supra/murci stuff on. 2+ miles in the middle of nowhere, with no issues, all day. However, its a two lane road, and its at altitude.

Oh, I dont even need to go past 100mph to agree with that. Ive driven a Gallardo once and been a passenger a couple of times, and it feels far more connected to the road. That has been a criticism of the Plastic mess-06 for a long time....the limits are high, but exploring them doesnt inspire confidence. You have to convince yourself the car will stick/track straight, and it does, but it doesn't scream "I can go faster!" of its own accord. Ive had my car up to 195mph and it did it with no drama, but on the road, I never find myself thinking "lets cruise at 120mph for a bit."
