  1. How does it feel off boost? I expected that I4 to be a bit laggy in a heavy 4 seater like that. Looks fun none the less FYI, be careful slamming the throttle closed when in high boost with no blowoff valve, bent throttle blades are a not so welcome surprise.
  2. HOW? 1. It's McLaren So add a 0 to the total if it were any other reasonable type of supercar 2. It's a massive one piece carbon fiber body panel, probably hand laid by some retired rocket scientist. I mean, without exaggerating there could easily be 50 man hours in making that part. Granted it should probably be $15k, but what are ya gonna do. Can you even buy the part, or is it one of those things where you are required to send the car back to Germany to be rebuilt?
  3. When the car is split in half and destroyed like that, I find it hard to believe you'll survive with anything short of an ejection seat. Truly terrible news regardless of the time of year.
  4. Clear or salvaged title? Is the carbon tub structure in tact? Looks like the door and side took a good smack, do they still open, close, lock as usual?

    SR71

And yes, in my opinion the SR71 is the greatest mechanical achievement of man thus far. The technology advancement that went into it, sheer power, engineering, and 100% success rate say it all. Kinda makes me wonder what kind of cool shit we have now, and at the same time if we even do? With satellites is this kind of equipment even necessary?

I have wanted a copy of Sled Drivers (book this story was taken from) for many many years but just haven't been able to pony up the $$$. It is the ultimate coffee table book! http://www.sleddriver.com/ Another story:
  8. Has to be the benz... anyone who had the turbine style G550 wouldn't own a honda minivan if his life depended on it and he sure wouldn't be bitching about losing an S600.
  9. I think we're all learning a valuable lesson here... if in this situation you drag the guy back in the house and put a couple rounds in the chest to make it look like you didn't intentionally just shoot him in the back Maybe a couple stray rounds in the walls, "but officer, I was scared and shooting wildly"
  10. That is my stance as well. It isn't someone just saying it, but when they take the initiative to break into your home and ambush your family, you can make a reasonable assumption they are serious. Just because they run away like little cunts when confronted, IMO, does not mean the threat is gone. It could be an isolated incident, but that kind of planning sounds pretty well though out with some ulterior motive. That alone sets the stakes (at least in my mind) that only one of us is going to survive to talk about it. It might take 3 months or 3 years, but the person who made that move will be exterminated.
  11. 10 on or not, I'm calling Lohan, shes way overdue for an OD.
  12. Pelican is one of the most elite communities in Newport with a few big name celebs, iirc Kobe has a place there. I'm fairly certain 7 figures won't buy you a home there kind of place and security knows every resident by name. Needless to say you don't just stroll through the gates and wander as you please.

This conference was fully supported by the Massachusetts Department of Education, the Safe Schools Program, the Governor’s Commission on Gay and Lesbian Youth, and some of the presenters even received federal money. During the 2000 conference, workshop leaders led a “youth only, ages 14-21″ session that offered lessons in "fisting" a dangerous sexual practice. During the same workshop an activist asked 14 year-old students, “Spit or swallow?… Is it rude?” The unbelievable audio clip is posted here. Barack Obama’s “Safe Schools Czar” Kevin Jennings is the founder of GLSEN. He was paid $273,573.96 as its executive director in 2007. Jennings was the keynote speaker at the 2000 GLSEN conference. Unfortunately for GLSEN, undercover journalists with Mass Resistance recorded these outrageous sessions. The audio was later leaked to a local radio station. This created such an uproar that GLSEN leaders were forced to apologize for their disgusting behavior. Thanks to Soros-linked Media Matters we now know that GLSEN director, and current Obama Safe Schools Czar, Kevin Jennings was confronted on the vile content discussed at the children’s conference. “Like the Parents Rights Coalition and the Department of Education, GLSEN is also troubled by some of the content that came up during this workshop,” said Kevin Jennings, national executive director of the Gay, Lesbian and Straight Education Network. He said people who run workshops in the future will get clearer guidelines, though Jennings said the network’s annual conference at Tufts University should not be judged on the 30-student seminar “What They Didn’t Tell You About Queer Sex and Sexuality in Health Class.” “We need to make our expectations and guidelines to outside facilitators much more clear,” said Jennings. “Because we are surprised and troubled by some of the accounts we’ve heard.” But despite Media Matters’ claims, Kevin Jennings and his GLSEN organization did nothing to clean up their act. In fact in 2001 activists handed out “fisting kits” to the children and teachers who attended the GLSEN conference. That’s correct. Fisting kits. Photo: This kit for fisting was distributed by Planned Parenthood at Fistgate II. (Mass News) At Kevin Jennings’ 2001 GLSEN Conference an estimated 400 student attendees were given their own “fisting kit.” Mass News reported on the 2001 conference: Fistgate II was held on Saturday in the same building at Tufts University as last year with the same message about how to practice homosexual sex. More students attended this year. Out of approximately 650 attendees, about 400 of those were students. Kits of plastic gloves intended for “fisting” or oral sex were distributed at Planned Parenthood’s table in the lobby. Public funds were used for the event with at least two school buses being used to transport students, from Methuen High School and Marblehead Public Schools. Adam Glick, Conference Coordinator, said he did not know how the buses were paid for. Other children were transported by public school teachers in private cars. The private homosexual sponsor, GLSEN, is given state funds for many purposes and does not publicly report on how the money is spent. There was a heightened sense of security with many Tufts campus police being highly visible in order to stop parents from seeing what occurred at the conference. Although Tufts University was able to claim ignorance about the event last year, they obviously became complicit this year when they welcomed the conference back and provided the security muscle to keep the strategy sessions and indoctrination of the children running smoothly. Founding Bloggers has a photo of one of the school buses that brought students to the conference. Mass News had another article that described the contents of the “fisting kits” given to the students. Planned Parenthood of Massachusetts distributed kits for fisting and oral sex. They contained a single plastic glove, a package of K-Y lubricant and instructions on how to make a “dental dam” out of the material. The instructions explained how to cut up the glove with scissors until all that remains is a rubber rectangle with the “thumb” portion protruding from the middle. “Use the thumb space for your tongue,” say the directions. The label on the ziplocked package says, “protects against STD’s,” and bears the Planned Parenthood logo and phone number. GLSEN (Gay Lesbian and Straight Education Network) got into trouble last year for hosting a workshop that gave young teens explicit how-to instructions on homosexual sex practices such as “fisting.” The ensuing scandal was subsequently dubbed “Fistgate.” Regarding “dental dams,” Dr. John Diggs, a specialist in internal medicine who lectures about STDs, said that the kits create a false sense of security. “I’ve written a brochure about this whole thing,” he said. “The way I describe it is, I ask ‘How many people want to take a bite of a sandwich without taking the wrapper off?’ ‘How many people want to suck on balloons?’ Nobody does.” Again, Barack Obama’s Safe Schools Czar organized and sponsored this conference as executive director of GLSEN. His organization later pushed filthy books on America’s children. Today he’s running the Office of Safe and Drug Free Schools in the US Department of Education. Do you feel safe now? There’s more to come.
  14. Actually there is a bit of positive effect in scaling up aquariums, in that the larger they get the easier they are to care for. Now this is somewhat in regard to watching the water ph and things of that sort. If you're even looking at tanks that large you won't even attempt to maintain it yourself. Hire someone to come once a month or so to keep an eye on all the filters, fish, plants, etc. The cool thing with a tank that size is you could get into some of the smaller sharks. One thing, they NEVER stop growing and even the smallest will get over 4' in length so eventually they will outgrow the tank, but they look awesome! Also, plan ahead for the equipment room which is generally located directly behind or next to the tank. And when I say ROOM I'm serious, you'll probably need a 10x15 room just for the filter equipment. Have you had an engineer review the slab design as well as the ground under the house? If not, you'll probably want to do that. It's a shit-ton of weight and you can run into some problems down the road. Those big tanks can easily run into used gallardo costs.
  15. Of the people I know with homes over 10k, I would say 75% of them feel the same way. Next round they will downsize to something more manageable, that doesn't hemorrhage cash like Lindsay Lohan on a coke binge. Dropping $8-10k per month on W/G/E plus maintenance would get old.
  16. Walk around a 15k sq/ft house and tell me anyone that doesn't have 10 people living there needs that much space. 10k you can make comfortably livable, big rooms, wide hallways, theater room, small gym area, office, etc and you're pretty much there without it feeling like an office building. I never understood the desire to 14 bedrooms and 20 bathrooms. I have to think there are entire floors of a home that size that don't see footprints other than the cleaning staff. A 2k sq/ft master bedroom/bath/closet is pretty legit though
  17. Really? I've been to Portobello once and honestly I didn't care for it one bit. Great piece of land but not my gig. I'm with Skokos, anything over 10k is just wasted space unless you have a few massive rooms and like to entertain hundreds of people at a time. Personally, if there are ever hundreds of people in my home it's probably going to be my funeral. They sure won't be there by open invite lol
  18. One thing I didn't consider, these men CHOOSE the Court-Marshall.... I'm thinking they have confidence in their chain of command and know full well nothing will come of it.
  19. Sigh, I long for the days of "Wanted, Dead or Alive" Seriously, we risk the lives of 3 of the most highly trained soldiers in our military and they return a wanted terrorist murdered with a fat lip... and they get a court marshal for this? No wonder the rest of the world laughs at us. Makes me wonder why they don't just light the guy up and say it was a fire fight. Would save everyone a lot of time and money.
