  1. Whenever a tire makes a night and day difference on how the car handles, it clearly means the car's handling is really knife like and on edge... It almost made me wish it would be more appropriate if they had made this car in a awd
  2. The inherent problem with mid engine cars is that once you breach it's high limits, very very hard to recover... With older mid engine cars, slightly thicker tires and flex allowed some warning, whereas modern cars with super low profile and very stiff side walls, when tire breaks away, it's sudden, and much much faster without warning... That's why most car manufacturers either dial in a lot of under steer at limit or through 4wd to add some safety net... Frankly, when the car came out, I was surprised since I felt it was a pretty gutsy move by Porsche since high hp with lax traction control and mid engine rwd usually means Hairy beast...
  3. While it is more rational not to blame the car, you can't help but wonder if Porsche could have dialed in more under steer on the car... The car just is too tail happy and beyond the level of the average driver... More spin outs mean the greater likelihood of slamming into poles trees etc...
  4. man... now I REALLY am not sure about getting a cgt.... That car is just too dangerous to own as you never know when that car is going to turn around and bite you.... especially considering these guys were around all kinds of cars...
  5. just saw this... wow... omg... is this a needs nothing car? lol. Im just ashamed to have people trying to flip cars like that for greed when clearly it ends up creating problems for the next owner. Should sticky this thread with a new buyer beware next to it in case any new potential buyer comes on and buys it hook line and sinker... Reminds me of a old movie from Tom hanks. Anyone seen the money pit? lol
  6. Look at the side and then look at the front... The side looks cleaner than the front... Seems to me that the car has lost its design balance. Too busy head on , too simple on the side... too traditional on the rear....
  7. As with the Mclaren F1, it wasnt the craziest looking million dollar super car... but its styling has really stood the test of time... similar formula followed on the 12c. Which IHMHO is a wise move considering the small line up Mclaren has, its the right strategy.
  8. I've grown fond of the styling of the 12c. Very understated and refined looking... The 458 already looks boring to me... And perhaps that's where design strategies lie...to provide something that won't feel like last seasons fashion accessory... And also to speak softly but carry a big stick...
  9. i think product strategy wise, Mclaren has provided a entry car 12C that performs on par or beyond supercars from the established marques. The P1 will be no different. Usually the new guy always has to prove his worth in the field.... The 12c already destroys the 458 and even the F12 on the variano track... that being said, the P1 has the optimum packaging in terms of aero, engine size/weight/hp, weight distribution vs la la la F...
  10. Not sure what you are getting at... the original wheels are tested but we are considering to build a bigger sized wheel which would require testing... From testing to product is about 4-6 months...
  11. Lol... It's all Internet marketing... The real life viewing usually is different
  12. there is one on ebay already... http://cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/Other-Makes...b31&vxp=mtr
  13. Yes. bigger wheels with same design is like doing plastic surgery..lol. A nip and a tuck there to give the perception of the original... Recreating it is not an issue. The key is to having it tested... I have been very reluctant to put out something with zero testing. The testing required involves front, side impact and fatigue testing...All those testing would take about 2 months to complete. Plus all said and done, something that would mimic the originals in terms of tooling cost would cost in excess of 20k which if just for a few sets might not make sense even if its just for few sets.... But that is usually the best way vs a bolted on 3 piece wheel which IMHO I wouldnt want to put on anyone's car...
  14. these silver and the red ones are better replicas than the yellow one.
  15. What is the deal Allan, I like the dauer too! lol. Id rock that replica but with some changes inside and outside... kind of update the look a bit...
  16. Yeah it is... It is a dd... Not a fuel injected...
  17. Thanks Roy . I pasted the article on this thread
  18. ive been saying that when you were going through the murcie and the g... lol.
  19. Yeah that is much more entertaining... NOT... I dont want to see demolished ct (
  20. Usually most cars look better with updated wheels.. However, ironically the anniverary does not look good with its wheels. The wheels being multi piece makes the wheels look way too small. Plus with that bumper that blocks out the beautiful rear it makes the wheels look even more out of proportion to the car... That is why it was even brought up to build bigger wheels... Sadly, the anniversary was over done by the then young pagani... There was a reason the Countach styling stayed for 14 years with very little change. It was perfect already.
  21. Have access to those guys as well. They are more into Outlandish look vs stock look...
  22. Actually on the m1 without the flares a 17 factory version would look good. But pro car m1 need multi piece wheels to look consistent with the Motorsport look.
  23. Now fcrap has become a rolling infomercial for trying to push up Ann ct prices...sigh...
