  1. Thanks guys, really appreciate it. 15% tint goes on it next Mon.
  2. So, I found out Monday that it is now certain that the first customer LP700's won't be to the dealers until late Aug/Sept best case scenario. Well, I sold my 2008 SL about a week ago and I thought I could rough out 2 months or so without a Lambo around the house, but 4 months!?!? No way. So, I found a little something to fill the void until the LP700......
  3. This is an interesting (and encouraging) perspective on the ISR transmission in Road and Track's initial review of the LP700. Should help put the minds at ease of those who are worried about around town drivability: Perhaps the biggest surprise of the day came during our cool down session, when we were just cruising in the Aventador. The car behaved in such a civil manner that it reminded you of being in an Audi sedan. In Strada mode, with the gearbox in full auto, each gear change was smooth, not accompanied by the jerking motion of eGear. Also, the cabin remained amazingly quiet and ride quality was smooth.
  4. Autoweek posted the following official numbers for the Aventador: Consider a few of the Aventador numbers: -- 0 to 60 mph in less than 2.9 seconds, or the time it takes your TV remote to change a channel. -- 0 to 124 mph in 8.9 seconds, or the time it takes for a traffic signal to change from yellow to red (we assume that's in places without red-light cameras and allegedly "quick" yellows). -- 0 to 186 mph in 24.5 seconds, or the time it takes to power up your iPad. -- 124 to 0 mph: 420 feet, or a little more than the typical distance from home plate to the center-field fence in a major-league ballpark. -- 60 to 0 mph: 98.5 feet, or the distance of a 32-yard field goal. -- Quarter-mile: 10.5 seconds -- Acceleration force: 1.5 g's And all of that comes with a 13.5-mpg combined fuel-economy rating from the EPA. Your mileage, obviously, may vary. Read more: http://www.autoweek.com/article/20110502/C...1#ixzz1LFXH8rtP
  5. AutoWeek is quoting the official 0-300 time for the Aventador at 24.5
  6. I love the way they were using that VW as a blocker so no one could get right behind the car. He boxed out the moped guys a few times too....
  7. I don't see their motivation to make up a number and lie to the dealer service managers about it, but I guess anything's possible.
  8. I was speaking with the service manager at my dealership yesterday who just returned from the factory training on the LP700 and he had some interesting things to say. They were able to tour the CFRP facility and walk inside the huge autoclaves. They were able to tour the production line, but were not able to take any test rides in the cars, even though during their training sessions they could hear the rumble of each completed car heading out on its 40km test drive. He mentioned that the cars in camo that are still parked behind the factory that "look" like LP700 mules are actually something different (can you say "cabrera"?). Most interesting, and why I posted this in this thread, is the fact that Lambo said that the LP700 surpassed 1100 orders (WITH individual customer deposits) last week while the service managers were there. That is over 2 years worth of production at maximum capacity. Lambo claimed they were going to try and complete those orders in 20 months, but weren't sure if they could. So, over 25% of the 8 year run is spoken for, and there hasn't even been any real magazine or press articles on the true capabilities of the car yet, as in, a lot of the public still doesn't know much about the car yet. Not bad............
  9. It appears that Ferrari might have sent one of their "special" cars to auto bild for this test?
  10. I have one that I will be selling in June. I have received a couple of unsolicited PM's already about the car, interestingly enough. PM me if you need more details...
  11. To get down and dirty in the desert!! http://www.insideline.com/lamborghini/aven...or-lp700-4.html
  12. Well, at least we know where the press car went from Beverly Hills Lambo..... http://www.insideline.com/lamborghini/aven...or-lp700-4.html
  13. It appears it's actually at Lambo Beverly Hills.....
  14. I actually like the sound of my Superleggera exhaust....
  15. It's probably a dealer demo car, since all they can order is white, black, or orange, and their cars are to be available before customer cars....
  16. Let's keep our fingers crossed they stay on target or I'm going to need a truck load of Ambien...
  17. They are 2012's.--at least that's what it says on my order confirmation printout.
  18. Hmmm.... we had a knowledgeable Lambo official telling us this was the way to go and to change it after a year--the paint would be prestine. This could very well be true, I don't know. I was just sharing some of my research from last summer. I was seriously considering getting a matte white 670SV that was available and the points I shared were gleaned from several knowledgeable sources. It was enough to deter me from the purchase (plus the fact that I decided to go for the LP700 instead!). I guess the good takeaway here is that if the factory is saying it's ok and you do it and there's an issue, hopefully they would be willing to rectify it!
  19. You can apply clear bra over matte paint--you just can't ever remove it--it takes the paint with it since there's no clear coat to keep the adhesive from doing so. Thus, if the clear bra yellows in the sun, you're stuck with it.
  20. From what I have been told, matte paint has a few challenges. First, you can't touch up small nicks or scratches. They can't be buffed out and you need to repaint the whole panel where the damage occurs. You cannot clear bra a matte car from what I understand. Also, it should be washed with deionized water since it is very prone to "spotting" after you wash it. On the other hand, one advantage is you never have to wax it!
  21. From what I know, the dealers are getting half of their annual allotment for 2011, which I believe all dealers now have committed orders for. The portal will not accept an order for a car from a dealer without a specific customer name and proof of deposit attached to it. The dealers are working on orders for the 2012 calendar year which they have up to 7 cars available for the largest dealers (of which there are only a few)--the majority of the dealers are receiving only a couple of cars. The U.S. is supposed to receive around 15% of the annual production.
