  1. Lots of possible reasons the car could be in limp mode. Try cutting the battery off with the switch in the engine bay for 10-15 minutes and then restarting. That will reset some codes. If it does return to a normal operating condition try to find an open road once the car is up to operating temperature and accelerate fairly briskly (75% throttle or so) and let the RPM's stay high for a few minutes. When the cars get driven around slowly or in a lot of start and stop traffic they are much more likely to throw codes and malfunction. Also could be some bad gas so try topping it off with some premium gas from another station.
  2. The car looks great. I love Blu Caelum and the gold wheels really work well on it. Enjoy it in good health.
  3. The Lambo home link system is not compatible with certain garage door openers, particularly LiftMaster which has a much stronger market share here in the US than in Europe.
  4. I certainly remember your LP640 and the rest of your cars. Great collection of beautiful yellow Lambos. My first Gallardo was Giallo Midas and it was definitely a color that looks great from all angles.
  5. That was me! I hope you are enjoying the car but we need to get you in a Lambo soon! I am in Europe now for a couple of weeks. Missing the car badly.
  6. OEM Body Panels will be ludicrously expensive. Probably at least $45k installed and painted (I think the unfinished front bumper is $18k and the rear is $24k). I would suggest finding an aftermarket SV kit or 640 kit and using it.
  7. I took the car out for a drive this evening. It is definitely due for a detail after the rain driving this week but I thought driving was more important than cleaning for now. Here are a few pictures with the new wheels on. A few more - http://edbolian.com/?p=4110
  8. The previous owner of mine appears to have experienced the same issue and removed the locking pin and apparatus. I replaced it and it works fine for now. Thank you. There is just something about the presence of the Murcielagos (from 02 to the SV's) that nothing else does for me. I love it. It gets a crazy amount of attention. Profoundly noticeable even after daily driving the blue Gallardo for almost a year. I think orange and green put the cars into a completely different category of conspicuousness. That is a great looking car and I love the configuration. Good luck with the purchase if you decide to go through with it. It has rained every day this week in Atlanta but I did get the Titanium Hercules Wheels installed yesterday. I think they came out great and I love the more aggressive look on the car. I took a couple of pictures under our service drive so forgive the poor lighting and ridiculous Instagram filters to try to make them look ok. Hopefully the weather will clear up this weekend and we can snap some better pictures and take the roof back off.
  9. The car is doing great. Have it in to fix a couple of things today - the fuel door is not locking (preferable to not unlocking, but still worth fixing) and a couple of other minor things. I am loving the car. We had some pretty serious rain here on Friday so I had the top on for the weekend. It was a bit of a hassle to get on because it had not been on the car in a couple of years but it worked fairly well. It leaked a bit around the A pillars but it was not an issue to wipe up a bit of water when I got to where I was going. The Titanium Hercules Wheels should be done in a couple of days. Can't wait to get them on and have the car exactly the way that I have always wanted it. Thank you for all the kind words. Have a great day everyone.
  10. Thanks. We need to get you back in one soon! I appreciate it. Had to follow your example and join the Murcielago club. Now we just need to find a good occasion to drive somewhere far away in them!
  11. It is a great looking color. We have an 07 in Rosso Vik here in Atlanta that is absolutely gorgeous. http://edbolian.com/?p=1866
  12. From Carfax: 8/28/2010 Florida Damage Report Accident Reported Involving Front Impact It hit a sign/sign post It hit a fence Vehicle Disabled Airbags Did Not Deploy This was less than 2 miles after an oil change at Ultimate Motor Works in Orlando and it was back there for repairs from the looks of things.
  13. No, not odd. The Hermera wheel was standard on the Murcielago starting in 2005 and continuing with the LP640. The Hermera wheel was optional beginning in the 2007 MY on the LP640.
  14. You still feel the size but the lightening of the AWD components and the improvements with the transmission/shifting really help. You really do feel the hp/tq difference between the two cars. The 640 feels like an animal in acceleration relative to the 580 cars. They are all prone to some level of creaking and there is quite a bit of chassis flex but the 640's do seem to feel more solid than the early cars.
  15. It is truly amazing how different the cars are. I think that the Gallardo is the best sports car available right now. They are reliable, they handle amazingly well, they are easy to use in virtually any situation, and they are great. The Murcielago is a completely different animal. The revvy nature of the engine is very unique compared to the torque that the Gallardo builds so early. The drama and excitement of driving the big car is very cool and nothing really matches it. The presence of a Murcielago is something that nothing else can really come close to in my opinion. The steering is completely different, tuned for very high speed maneuvers. The seating position is much more comfortable for me at 6'5" than I ever am in a Gallardo. I love the power and the V12 scream and I love the mechanical simplicity of the car. Not nearly as computerized as everything today. The difference in the attention that the two cars get is also much greater than I had expected. It gets more attention than anything else that I have driven, short of a Verde Ithaca Murci. I think it is probably due to the fact that in the Atlanta area there are about 40 Gallardos and only 7 other LP640's (http://edbolian.com/?p=3932) Thanks. I was really thrilled with the configuration of this one. It is exactly the way I would have ordered it if I had $395k to spend in 2008. They are actually black. There was some hazing due to the heat and over-lighting in those pictures. The car is all stock except for a built in K40 Radar detector. I did. I had been daily driving the Gallardo but that didn't seem as appropriate with the 640 so I picked up a daily driver. I love the 55's and after 2 S classes, I thought it was a good idea to try the CL. Love the car. Drives great and is astonishingly more nimble and rigid than the S. Much moreso than the weight difference would suggest. Here are a few pictures of the CL: More here - http://edbolian.com/?p=3942
  16. I have been looking for the right Orange Murcielago for years. A few weeks ago I heard about one and was able to make the deal line up. I got the car a few days ago and I am hugely impressed. It has a bit over 24k miles and is very well broken in, definitely one of the strongest Murcielagos I have ever driven. Lots of service records and ready to go. I have only driven it about 200 miles because it is 105 degrees here in Atlanta but I am absolutely smitten. Here are some quick pictures that I snapped of it: More pictures - http://edbolian.com/?p=3944
  17. Great pictures. Thanks for sharing. Looks like a great time.
  18. Great looking car. Good luck with the sale. I love that color combination. Needed it in this photo shoot:
  19. Ceramic Brakes were an option starting in 2006 and became standard in 09.
  20. I know what you mean about that. You really have to look at the "special editions" of the Gallardo as option packages. The Nera, Balboni, and Super Trofeo could probably be justified as unique in different ways but the newer cars are really just pre-packaged sets of optional extras to increase the appeal. Fortunately it has worked really well.
  21. Congratulations on the car. Enjoy it in good health. Can't wait to see some pictures.
  22. Congratulations on starting the search and best of luck. You will find a lot of great information on this site and some very passionate enthusiasts who will be happy to help along the way. Right now the 07-08's are great value for money. I have compiled some thoughts and remarks from owning, selling, and servicing the cars here. It may be useful in your search, particularly the PPI Checklist as you begin to look more seriously at a particular car and work up a list of questions to ask as you call about some cars.
