  1. Jay-Z is a master of the double entendre. I have had some friends read this book who dont even like Jay-Z come away totally impressed with his lyrics now (while Im left smh wondering what they were listening to when they play his music) But, the book is not just about his lyrics and background. I have not finished reading it but I do like the "Art With No Easel" section. A long excerpt. "Which is the other reason hip-hop is controversial: People don't bother trying to get it. The problem isn't in the rap or the rapper or the culture. The problem is that so many people don't even know how to listen to the music. Since rap is poetry, and a good MC is a good poet, you can't just half-listen to a song once and think you've got it. Here's what I mean: A poet's mission is to make words do more work than they normally do, to make them work on more than one level. For instance, a poet makes words work sonically--as sounds, as music. Hip-hop tracks have traditionally been heavy on the beats, light on melody, but some MCs--Bone Thugs 'N Harmony, for example--find ways to work melodies into the rapping. Other MCs--think about Run from Run-DMC--turn words into percussion: (cool chief rocka, I don't drink vodka, but keep a bag of cheeba inside my locka). The words themselves don't mean much, but he snaps those clipped syllables out like drumbeats, bap bap bapbap. If you listened to that joint and came away thinking it was a simple rhyme about holding weed in a gym locker, you'd be reading it wrong: The point of those bars is to bang out a rhythmic idea, not to impress you with the literal meaning of the words. The art of rap is deceptive. It seems so straightforward and personal and real that people read it completely literally, as raw testimony or autobiography. And sometimes the words we use, ******, b****, mother*****, and the violence of the images overwhelms some listeners. It's all white noise to them till they hear a b**** or a ****** and then they run off yelling "See!" and feel vindicated in their narrow conception of what the music is about. But that would be like listening to Maya Angelou and ignoring everything until you heard her drop a line about drinking or sleeping with someone's husband and then dismissing her as an alcoholic adulterer."
  2. I have never seen anything like this before. I understand family resemblance within a car line, such as Audi where all of the sedans share the same design features but, you can still tell them apart (the size, design details, rooflines, wheels, etc). However, AM made a duplicate of the DB9, changed the wheels, threw on some Lotus Evora headlights and gave it a new name. They didnt even bother redesigning a new interior. To make it more confusing (and simply retarded), its NOT replacing the DB9! WTF? How could this possibly make sense to Aston?
  3. Just watched a movie last night called "Spread" with Ashton Kutcher (he plays a womanizer). I knew the home looked familiar. Unbelieveable house!
  4. Interior pic of one of the first Veyron Concepts from years ago if i recall correctly.
  5. Agreed. Jay already had a number one album when BIG was alive. What would have changed is more collabos and joint albums between the two and that would have been SICK.
  6. I've read that its based on a book/broadway play written 30-40 years ago called ''For Colored Girls Who've Considered Suicide When The Rainbow Is Enuff''. It was written during a time when black women got absolutely NO public media exposure. Nothing wrong with a little history about african american woman (and a movie that they may be able to relate to). With that said, I'm sure the movie is meant for everyone, but Tyler Perry movies do not interest me at all.
  7. Its really not that shocking. BMW changed years ago and they needed to (new regulations, profitability, market share, etc etc). They produce SUV's, throw M badges on trucks, use turbochargers across the model range. 5-7 years ago they said they were strictly a NA company that would never produce a FWD car and years before then stated trucks is not in the BMW DNA. But whats most interesting, a story came out I think last year that stated 80% of BMW drivers didnt know there car was RWD. So in the end, does going FWD really matter?
  8. I believe you actually have to buy a new Aston Martin to purchase this. Like a supplemental city car. Used car market I suppose will be totally different. Or you can just go and buy a Scion IQ next year and get all the Aston bodykit parts. lol.
  9. Is that the exhaust coming out from under the rear wing? What an over the top design. So many little details that I love. And everytime I look at it again, I see something new I didn't see before. Simply awesome.
  10. Definitely caught off gaurd by this one. It doesnt even look like a Lotus, but I also think it looks very nice! Not exactly sure how I feel about a Lotus that weighs 3700lbs, but for a hardtop 2+2 convertible of this size, its not bad. http://www.roadandtrack.com/auto-shows/par...014-lotus-elite
  11. Looks good in white! Absolutely beautiful combination the 570 and DBS make!
  12. I've done it. The warm up in Insanity is like doing cardio x on P90. Its an intense workout. I lost 12lbs on insanity. I started it the week after I did P90x. Its crazy to see the people on the cd give up in the workouts. I'm suppose to aspire to have there stamina and body, yet even they are quitting half way through. Its definitely do-able, but its surely not easy. Good luck with it man. Not saying one is better than the other but personally I preferred the mixture of workouts that P90 provided
