  1. Even though this is still just rumor...it does say that current owners will be able to retrofit or upgrade there current Veyrons. Not that i have a veyron, but sounds good to me, with its super low production numbers and ever increasing price the Veyron will remain a rare sight outside of socal. these days a run like the SLR or CGT that results in 1500 or so cars is pretty damn exclusive, there are 4500+ FGT out there and they are pretty rare...the veyron with a run of 300-500 cars will always be exclusive.
  2. I dont even understand why the Veyron needed turbo's in the first place...its an 8litre W16!!! There are quite a few V8 engines out there making 500hp NA...i would have thought that Bugatti could have gotten 1000hp NA out of 16 cylinders. I also think that would have set the bar a lot higher, just about anyone can buy a car and TT it to 1000+ Hp...Gallardo, viper, supra,porsche, POS, hell even EVO's but 1000hp NA...very few are even close. SSC, Koeningsegg and Salleen are all forced induction, the only car that comes to mind is the Ferrari FXX which i think makes around 800hp (Which i think is damn impressive for a NA V12, thats probably what the Veyron makes without its turbo's). Just my $0.02.

  4. Yeah i thought that was Crank HP as well but i just wanted a clarification. I thought that maybe with Allan shooting for 1000+ that the Veyron made 1000+ at the wheels. Not to start another topic...but since the Veyron has four turbo's or essentially is turbo charged...why hasnt someone turned up the boost? I'd think on an engine that large even the slightest increase in boost pressure could net 100+ HP. Does the factory not allow owners to tamper with the cars? or would the ECU need a complete remap to be safe? i'm sure there is a good reason why we havent seen a 1200hp tune running around, but again i'm just curious if anyone has more insight.
  5. Does the Veyron make 1001Hp at the wheels or at the crank? With Allans GTT making 1005hp at the wheels it just got me curious.
  6. Does anybody think that they are just trying to reduce or recoupe some of the loss they apparently take on every car sold by making extra's? Also, correct me if i'm wrong, but i was never under the impression that the Veyron was a limited production run of a specific number of cars. I thought Bugatti believed they could sell around 300 of them but if demand was there they would make more. Lastly I dont really think that 150 more Veyrons will really effect exclusivity in a daily sighting kind of way or the value of Veyrons already produced. I Ferrari decided to release 100 FXX's i dont think it would have much effect on the resale of the current 399. (just my $0.02)
  7. Holy S***, thats fast. The ACR has cleaned up any track shoot-out I've read so far, at least for lowest time...auto journalist usually then notch it down for being to raw or something like that. But 7:22 is wicked fast for a production car...thats what 7 second faster than the GTR...i cant even remember what the ZR1 ran...but i cant help wonder now with these times that seem to be dropping every month, how much of this is the driver not the car? could the guy who drove this viper be able to run a 7:22 in a CGT? i say probably, both cars are of similar weights and HP...down force i'm not sure. It would be nice if all these times were done by the same driver.

  9. Resentment of success or wealth is rampant and unfortunate...its also infuriating when someone makes up for there shortcomings by F***ing with personal property. Something Exotic or even just nice car owners need to remember despite this is to as good an ambassador as possible for all exotic owners...these ignorant pricks dont need fuel for there fires. I always try be as modest and pleasant as possible when someone approaches/compliments me on my car, and luckily I personally have never had any problems. (not saying this is why any of you do). I do remember one sunday i was just sitting in traffic with my girlfriend in my NSX and a SLR cruised by my right side and turned right into the same neighborhood i was heading to...so as the SLR pulled into a parking lot at a business I followed him in (in my neck of the woods and SLR is a very rare sighting, the first i'd ever seen in real life and i wanted a closer look). I pulled in and parked several spaces away and my GF and I got out and walked over as the SLR driver was just closing his door. Now I am alway very respectful of other people/there cars, I keep my hands behind my back while looking and all that...and at this point i was still just walking over...i hadnt even begun to look at the car...just as the SLR driver turned to walk away i said "I'm sure you get this all the time...but that is such a beautiful car you've got"...all he had to do was say thanks and keep walking...but he didnt say anything, he just looked at me with this snobby disgusted look on his face, one that said why are you even talking to me you little shit, and walked off. I've never forgotten what an example of how i dont want to react to people that was. It would'nt surprise me at all if i acted that way to someone that i'd return to find my car keyed. Kudo's to everyone to does there part to make exotic car owners look good...i'm sure one good experience from someone who stayed and chatted, let there kid sit in it or was just nice could cement someones outlook on all of us for a long time.
  10. I had a 1992 NSX Black 5spd that didnt so much get away...IT WAS STOLEN! Damn that hurt...(till i got the insurance payout ) That was just a few years ago...so yes it was like 13 years old...but being 19...that car was the shit.   11. I'm not a fan of the looks...but i do like that somone is taking a shot at making a super lux SUV in the $200K+ Braket. I always wondered why SUV's price/exclusivety wise seemed to top out at the Cayenne Turbo S or Range Rover Sport level. Sedans and Sports cars certainly have much higher echelons...why cant suv's.
  12. I really hope it makes production, and that the number stay very low...the speedster adds an air of impraticallity that i feel the SLR could use.
