  1. Agreed be careful with Hennesey. I think bolt on cars are making over 600, power in that thing is not a problem and a little goes a long way.
  2. Thanks both for the response. I agree on the seats LOL it took me forever to find the controls, I was looking all around to my left and on the side of the seat. It did have the Linn system but not the 980watt one the 360watt I belive it was, the dealer said they have had issues in the past with the big amp and no longer order that setup for the lot. I agree it is a completely different concept and a GT car was not what I was looking for original. I had looked into the Bentley CGT after spending a weekend in a friends and though then I would give the Aston a look just out of curiosity, then fell in love. I am a bit concerned the Aston is not quite raw enough for me, I am a bit more clubing to 4am silk and gray goose then tea and Burberry, but that kind of automotive sex is universal. I think I have found the compromise, the resale scares me on a new one so plan is to hold out for a used DB9 that has taken a big hit already and drive it daily and then still get an 06 Gallardo for the weekend toy. I love the quality and art of the aston but it is not the WOW of the G car.
  3. yea that is a bit of a let down for me as well, if its just the odd ball here and there that is one thing but a trend makes me reconsider and maybe hold out for one of those odd balls myself.
  4. Really! they must not be advertising it yet or I just missed it. 99% of the used ones I had found run $155-165K. I know the dealer your speaking of I will call tomorrow, Thanks. Here is all I had found in Miami http://used-cars.autos.yahoo.com/used-cars...-used-cars.html I was looking at a new one but not to have to take a bath on it latter.
  5. Except in the resale market... Used db9 coupes with less than 3k miles trading for under $125k! Dont ask where the 03 DB7 Volante prices are! Where? I have been watching the used db9s, the few that there are, and have found 99% to be 10-15K less then new, the one or two deal cars all have a story or at least the ones I found. I am in the market for a new one and resale is always a concern but 155K for the autos looks to be the average used price.
  6. I would go for the 996 I have had both and although I like the 993 a bit better in the looks department the interior of the 996 is a welcome change. Its just much easier to enjoy a 996 rather then have a less comfortable car with what some would say are better lines IMO.
  7. Should be a PAM00 and then three numbers. All the current models for comparison www.panerai.com/s_page.xpd?id_lingua=2&id_sezione=1 I assume the ho767/1000 means its one of the models limited to 1000 units?
  8. I dont know what to say but WOW!!! I would love to just see one much less drive it :supz:
  9. I honestly looked at it as an afterthought, I never would have guessed I would like the car this much. I pulled it into a large lot were I could take a good look around it and its a truly stunning auto, one of the first that I have seen the lines and design that so many speak of. Another thing of note is after five minutes behind the wheel I felt completely comfortable driving the car, the seating position and ergonomics are that good.
  10. I visited the Aston Martin dealer today and test drove a stunning black DB9 six speed coupe. I have been struggling with exactly which car I want next looking at everything form the Gallardo to the Bentley continental and more then a few in between. I was extremely impressed with the DB9 from the fit and finish to the power and exceptional looks. The coach work is excellent and every piece from the hand stitched light red and black suede interior with black piano wood accents to the smallest bracket under the front bonnet is built and assembled to be esthetically pleasing and hand fitted perfectly, the precision aluminum work just found in the gauge faces is incredible, one of the few cars that I was overwhelm by the quality of craftsmanship right away. The 6.0 liter V12 sounded exceptional and the 450 hp feels deceptively quicker with the TQ coming on so low in the RPM band just a tap of the gas and its instant response. I was not very interested in the auto trans but the short crisp six speed was a joy to drive. I truly just fell in love with the car from first site. I think this may be what I was looking for so I was curious if any members here might have one or have any experience with one and what there opinion was of it. Also any forums that may be dedicated to Aston.
  11. I really like the Panerai, it is a much different look. I am in the market for my first one now. I love my Rolexs but they are just becoming so common now and I can not afford the Platinum master piece I want for the sake of being different
  12. It is a good looking watch but my personal opinion is in that price range go for an lambda lambda lambda and the omega mu, I have seen a lot of sea masters in the 800-900$ range and I personaly wear my lambda lambda lambda and the omega mu over my Rolex's many times.
  13. The 997 GT3 is on my short list as well. I know the 996 GT3 was a amazing car I expect the 997 to blow it away. I had the chance to drive a GT3R cup car and the street version had very similar characteristics, weight and breaks being the major difference. From someone who has lived with a lot of different P cars over the years it is tempting to go back with something comfortable you know you can put miles on without killing the resale.
  14. Thank you, I may very well stop by tomorrow as it looks like I will now be in town for new years. I assume your track days are at Road Atlanta? I am very good friends with Don Panoz along with many of the guys up at Panoz and JRD tuning. I do have a few cars that would turn a good time at RA but after totaling my 996TT there my insurance company said the next one is on me . Sorry only track cars on the track from now on for me timed event or not.
  15. I bought mine form the Tourneau store at Lenox mall one of the best in Georgia to see all the models in the flesh, they sell all major brands including Panerai, AP etc... they do not have a 50th and I have a few buddies on the list there. I know the dealer at phipps had about twenty people on a list trying for one. I am not sure what they are going for now but I paid quite a bit for mine over a normal black sub, it gets a lot more comments then my presidential which is why I like it something out of the ordinary. I plan to check with Stryke before my next purchase once I find out which Panerai I want. I hope he significantly beats the dealers on them as well BTW Chris I have been wanting to take a trip out and see the dealership, I dealt with Tod a lot back when Paul Sprull had the rights. I am considering a Gallardo in the near future.
  16. The anniversary sub is not really a green face per say but black face with a green bezel. I am surprised you have one sitting Stryke I was on a list for a while before getting mine and the only reason I did was I buy a fair amount from the dealer, I will let some buds know you have one that have been looking for a while. What are you asking for the 50th sub? One of the things I love about Rolex or at least the ones I already own is they are going up in value every year.
  17. Found these pics online while searching for a new watch. What do you think? I have always though of Panerai as a rugged simple brand.
  18. Very well put you have a better way of wording what I was trying to allude to. My dealer Atlanta Classic Cars sells Renn Tech at the dealership and promises the factory warranty will be honored in writing. I would assume this is a dealer by dealer agreement and maybe my post was misleading as I do not think just any MBUSA dealer would honor there agreement. I have been told other dealers around the country also have similar programs for tuning in agreement with outside tuning shops. The only draw back is you pay dealer prices but for the expense I would assume AMG would get for a new power plant in the event something should occur I think of it as insurance at a moderate price.
  19. Really. Well like I said you know how those rumors go, Funny its not turboed at all. I know the car had been there for some time as I used on of the other business in that complex to tune on my Porsche.
  20. There is a black Diablo here in ATL built by Supercars international a tuner just outside the gates of Road Atlanta. It was twin turboed, built motor, standaone ecu etc... I have heard rumor it made in the 900hp range but you know how rumors go. I will stop by there in the next few weeks and snap some pics and ask a few questions about it if the car is still there and see if I can get any information fro the owners. I would think someone on this board had heard of them, there are normally five or six lambos there at any given time.
  21. I went with Renn Tech on my AMG and could not be happier. I agree the prices are way over the top but its the price you pay, the quality is very good but we all know the prices are inflated many times over. If you shelled out the money for a 65 I would just bit the bullet and go with one of the name tuners if it was my car for these reasons. As for the product basically 99% of programing the factory ECU by any tuner simply manipulates fuel and timing curves along with removing or rasing limiters. Some companies go about this via a chip ie. an additional after market device taped into the board by way of a added socket or hard wired interface, others simply "flash" the ECU buy having broken the software coeds and learning how to manipulate the factory settings, therefore most flash programs are simply software. I would stick with flashed programing for the simple fact that the chance of your ECU being damaged is much less, it is more of a stealth installation and easier to reverse if the need should ever arise. I also chose Renn Tech due to reputation and the fact that my dealer is mod freindly were Renn Tech products are concerned therefore I can mod into the 600hp range and retain my factory warranty.
  22. Hate to drag an older thread up but do you know were that pic was taken? I think that is my old x180r at road atlanta. I loved that car was Zach Zacaludus (sp?) personal old car one of Docs factory co drivers and Doc had signed the dash. Once I find a Gallardo I may put one of my other cars up for sale and get another newer esprit I really like those cars for the price. Good luck on yours a nice start into the exotic game.
