  1. If you plan to keep the car for a long time, paint it whatever color you want If you plan to fix and flip, then OEM color is the way to go.
  2. I'd recommend T-9 Boeshield instead of WD40: http://boeshield.com/products/
  3. That's some great feedback! Greatly appreciated!
  4. It's going to me, wife, and the kiddo ... so trying to figure out how to balance everything. I've never been to a car auction, so that would be pretty fun to do that once. I'd like to test drive a Huracan if I could get the opportunity ... Are you looking at just hotels? What about airbnb.com options? Since there are 3 of us bumming around, do I need to show up in the diablo? Can we show up in our Kia rental car, lol It seems every show costs $$$$. Not sure if that is to attend without displaying a car or even if you have your car displayed it still costs you $$$.
  5. That's some great info. Thanks! Are the auctions good to attend to see unique cars?
  6. I'm planning to be at Monterey Car Week 2017 with the 6.0 and trying to plan things now. Looking at airbnb.com, it's showing that there already isn't much available to rent for next year ... How close to Monterey does one need to stay? Is it worth staying close to the action? My interest is doing a few cruises (maybe Italian Stampede) and some get togethers. I'm not really interested in doing Concours and stuff. There's some events listed https://whatsupmonterey.com/events/monterey-car-week but would probably want to also do a few other non-car things with the family. Thoughts? Suggestions?
  7. For outside temperatures in the mid 90s Fahrenheit, my coolant temp never went above 100C and my intake temp was below 70C. Car was running for about 45 minutes in idle, traffic, and spirited driving conditions. I can upload a graph of the data later.
  8. I have a 6.0 and always monitor via OBDII. My car has never run that hot even in outside temperatures of 90s Fahrenheit. I'd have to find some of my logs to see how hot i was running. I have stock headers and cats but aftermarket exhaust.
  9. If it's just a fun car to drive around the track once or twice a month, are the maintenance costs really that high? I would have thought it would be only a little more compared to a regular diablo.
  10. If I was buying, I would send to Steve at Driven Exotics in Gilroy, CA for a PPI just to see what it would take to make it reliable and safe to drive on a track again.
  11. Is it stick on now? So that if you remove the emblem for wrapping or detailing you have to buy a new emblem each time? Or get some 3M adhesive and reattach?
  12. I think this is correct for the 2 VI 6.0s ... Limey -> Megachad -> alpha6164 Roy -> another LP board member -> camaro97
  13. It's a scam ... nothing to do with the owners of LP: http://www.lambopower.com/forum/index.php?showtopic=77967
  14. I own the other 6.0 that Roy had re-sprayed in VI. I love the car and will likely keep it a long time
  15. Although not always the case, it seems (from my perspective) events in which people have to pay to attend draws a different crowd (sometimes more respective) than free shows.
  16. What model diablo do you have? If you don't run tires of the right size you risk damaging the drivetrain/transmission. I only run the PZeros on the 6.0.
  17. I am pretty sure from reading other threads that none of the three will ever sell for any amount of money. I think Roy was offered a mil for his SV and refused, but don't recall if that is true. Roy has made it clear he will not sell any of his personal cars ... only when he meets up with Ferruccio and the kids sell the cars will anyone have a chance to buy. If I had the means to park an SV next to the 6.0, it would be getting a swap as we speak.
  18. ... and if you wanted a manual SV, your only choice is to do a swap.
  19. I think the question is more of supply and demand of manuals. And you probably have to settle on a car regardless of color and options.
  20. Haggerty quoted me at $13k/year for insurance for just the 6.0! It was 4 times less with TDC. Things are well here in ABQ! Just don't get to do many car events these days :-(
  21. Searching some of the parts sites, looks like a manual transmission with the tower retails for $35k new ... not sure if the main casing is the same such that holes are there for manual or egear parts.
  22. It might be worth calling a few places like Underground Racing, Dallas Performance, Driven Exotics, etc to get some pricing. If it really is sub $30k to do a swap, then that would be nice! I am guessing the difference in price between egear and manual LP640 is greater than $50k ...
  23. Scroll down to the long post with the picture: http://www.pistonheads.com/gassing/topic.a...443161&i=20
  24. I recently switched to Barrett Jackson Insurance Co, TDC Risk Management (American Modern) to insure the 6.0. Underwriting didn't accept my value for what I thought was fair based on my attempt at a market analysis. Roy helped me out big time getting the 6.0 insured for the right value
