  4. I love the Atom, but this is going to be a handful... http://www.pistonheads.com/news/default.asp?storyId=17680
  5. They're 2 year old pics from eBay. I just saved them because that's the nicest color combo I'd seen on an SLR, and a couple of years later it still is IMO. Champion on Long Island however has either this car (now used with 3k miles), or it's twin... http://www.championmotorgroup.com/external...DAJ76F46M000984
  6. The documentary was great, this could be too if it's done right
  7. Yes, purple car is a Cobra There are 2 orange cars - McLaren F1 is the Kandy orange car, but I assume you mean the heavily customized 'Cuda. He bought it at the Barrett-Jackson auction in Scottsdale a year ago. Here are some more pics from the builder... http://www.johnsonshotrodshop.com/g_force_cuda.htm
  8. He's an RV dealer in Tampa... http://www.lazydays.com/ He seems to be a nice guy, at least he always has been to me. He usually brings several cars to the larger FL shows. The Enzo is #400, the one built for the Pope and auctioned off for charity a few years ago.
  9. I like the drophead (with the top down), but the lines on the coupe are fugly. The upcoming Bentley Brooklands looks much better IMO... http://www.autoweek.com/apps/pbcs.dll/arti...E/99140189/1024
  10. There are a lot of great pics there... http://www.chrisgrosserphotography.com/gal...=5&subID=26 The Ford is nice, but I love the Lola... http://www.chrisgrosserphotography.com/gallery/151.jpg
  11. Going from a Gallardo to a 360 is going backwards... It doesn't make any sense. IF you want to go from a Gallardo to a Ferrari at least go to an F430... The 360 came out 9 years ago, it's old, tired, and outdated - Who the hell wants one of those anymore.
  12. Yeah there was, first season IIRC, in a scene at that old Chinese restaurant (that's still there) on Biscayne just north of 79th Street.
  13. You'll hear that a lot if you don't lose them. Shields just don't look right on a Lamborghini, it looks like you're trying to copy Ferrari.
  14. I don't believe orange was a Diablo color until the 6.0, but that one at Autodrome Cannes is red. It's just the lighting and photography that make it look orange in those pics. They do however call it "red" in the pic names when you enlarge them.
  15. I guess we'll just have to agree to disagree but I think it WILL see the light of day. Gas or diesel the R8 is never going to be a high volume car anyway, but I think with the success of the R10 in endurance racing there IS more interest in such a car among enthusiasts. The mentality of the average American regarding diesel must be changed, and it is, albeit very slowly. The problem is just getting people to TRY it, once they do and realize the old stereotypes regarding diesel no longer exist, they love them. They're simply not the same as they were 20 years ago, they're vastly improved engines that get great fuel mileage. With increasing CAFE standards you will see a lot more diesels in America, and with increasing fuel prices there will be a lot more interest in them. I still fail to see what the problem is with the number of stations carrying diesel is though. You said 2 of the 5 you passed today carried it... So what's the problem here? Were those 2 closed? As I said before if one doesn't carry diesel there's another usually across the street or down the block that does. I drive a diesel every day and have never had a problem. As more diesels are sold in the US though, creating more demand for fuel, more stations will be forced to carry it.
  16. D.Wiggs - WELL SAID! Mako - "lack of Diesel-offering refueling stations over here" HUH??? My DD is a diesel Merc (we also have a couple of VW TDIs) and I have NEVER had any problem finding a station with diesel. Stations that carry it are EVERYWHERE. If one doesn't the one across the street does, that is so not a problem. The more I drive modern European diesels the more I love them. I like the R8, the design is fine by me, but the fact that this IS a diesel is why I have to have one. I love the technology, the torque, the sound, the fuel economy, and perhaps what I like most is it's something different than the norm, something new, something never done before in a sports car.
  17. Did you end up buying that one? I don't remember seeing pics
  18. The auction is Tuesday through Sunday this year.
  19. Guess I'm in the minority on here, but I love modern European diesels. I like this, but I liked the look of the original R8 better.
  20. As stated above it's not Sackey's, his is an SV by the way.
  21. Here's the story with more pics... http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/21078089/
