  1. You went away feeling exactly how they want you to feel. Like you have to be someone special to get a car. You have to be part of the club. You have to pay your dues. I hope that Lamborghini never decides to do things this way. Brand management is job 1 at Ferrari. Building and selling cars is about job 3 or maybe 4.
  2. Actually Roy's info would help confirm two of the guys "stories'.
  3. Never met him, I just think he has a giant head. I do think it was a mistake to not go with a double clutch transmission. My theory on why they did not is because they kept the same transmission in front of the engine, same as the Murci. They should have redesigned it and moved it to the back of the car and gone with a dual clutch setup. I don't think there is room for it in the current setup.
  4. Chip is a very talented guy and pretty down to earth. He seems to want to interact with his fans even though he doesn't have the time. His dad and I got off on the wrong foot and to this day I think he is an ass. "Do you know who I am?" if you have to play that card buddy, it is never going to end well.
  5. We have been over this. Most Lambo replicas are crap. Period. There are some that are pretty close to duplicating a Lambo, but the guys that build these that are even somewhat close, spend almost used Lambo money. There are lots of G cars around for well under $100k. My problem is that most replicas fall far short of the performance of the real thing. Sure some may be as fast in the quarter mile, but I have never seen one that I would actually trust at high speed. Most have suspensions that are sub-standard. Brakes are usually terrible. When ever I read an evaluation of one of these cars there always a bunch of 'ifs' included. If the car would have been tuned for xxxx or If we would have run the other tires or if xxxx. They never seem to add up to the sum of the car they are trying to duplicate. I don't mind properly engineered cars, like say an Ultima. It isn't trying to be something it isn't and has the performance to back up the looks and price. The "100%" replicas you speak of, well, I have never actually seen one. I have seen some that look the part, but when you start to dig deeper, they just don't add up. You can buy a salvage car and pull bits and pieces from it, but at the end of the day, it is not going to be as good because you do not have the same manufacturing capabilities of a large car company. There is also the resale aspect. When it comes time to sell the car, what do you sell it as? A replica? And while Lambos aren't known for high resale value, they can be sold and people know what they are getting. With a replica Lambo, you are ALWAYs going to be making excuses. We don't even need to talk about the Wanker factor with most of the replica exotic guys. These are the guys that think they are passing a fake off as the real deal. PS.. I spent 5 years working at a company that built replica cars. We did such a good job that we became an OEM supplier for the guy that built the original cars. The ones we built though are generally acknowledged as being better than the ones the old man turns out. www.kirkhammotorsports.com
  6. This SR company is amazing! They not only rip off other designs (poorly) they rip off music, names and images for their promotional videos. Foose shows up to promote his product in Panama and they turn an autograph signing into a supposed business deal/endorsement. Check out the Lebron James Ferrari video they have. It makes it sound like Lebron had them build him a car and you can get a copy. Wow.
  7. I don't know if you are looking for big dollar ideas or something that can be incorporated into a regular production home...??? I have always wanted a love loft in the master bedroom. Like a little room you can climb a ladder to get to that is kind of isolated. Just a place to hang out and chill or, you know, get busy. Wiring for sound/video/data is always shite in average houses. I think you should have the home pre-wired for sound or at the very least video/data. Around here the cable/satellite guys come with big drills and run exterior wiring everywhere. Should be standard to do homeruns to a central box on even basic houses.
  8. I think this car actually predates the Brammo cars. This one was built by a local guy to do the Silver State Classic. He lost interest when his buddy blew a tire in his Porsche and was almost killed. He had done some testing with the car in preparation for the Silver State and I guess it got fairly squirrely over 210ish because the steering ratio was too quick. They added a slower ratio rack. He is very smart and made a bit of money in computer stuff. He wrote a program that would model headers, you put in all the hard points like engine exhaust ports and then other modeling of the engine bay and chassis and it would draw paths for equal length headers that would fit. He was working on Toyota(?) F1 parts when I talked to him. It took a pretty hard core PC several days to draw the header paths. (I talked to him quite a few years ago) He was telling me that they took the car to the local drag strip and were running 160mph on street tires. The tech guy came over and kept walking around the car. He thought it was just because the car was something different but he kept giving him the eye. He asked if he could help the tech guy. The tech guy said yes, you need a chute on the car with the speeds you are running. I think this guy hooked up with Brammo a bit later to model parts for the LSx engines that they started to put in them about that time.
  9. What engine are you using? Is it an LS or old school SB? What about the trans?
  10. I saw it yesterday. The dialog/language was really cool. Loved the characters and the performances by the actors. I was not a huge fan of the ending in this one. (I can not remember the original so I can not compare it to that movie.) I'd go with a 4/5 as well.
  11. Holy CRAP! The video with them pulling out in the black car. The guy wearing a Ferrari shirt... What a pile. Seriously terrible.
  12. GT3RS 2.55.9 83.9 151.1 TurboS 2.57.5 83.2 155.4 Is VIR a pretty tight track? I love the way the GT3 RS drives. I would contend that it is the best handling car out of the box made today, but I am really surprised that the GT3 beat the Turbo S. Goes to show that 0-60 and brute horsepower aren't everything. I heard about this guy with a kick ass Lotus, I bet he could really.... :D
  13. Wow, that FAQ page is hilarious. So, I can just remove the windshield and run at Bonneville and set a land speed record? AWESOME! All I have to do to make the racing version street legal is change the tires? SWEET!
  14. Some rental car places will not do debit cards. I guess you just have to find the ones that will.
  15. How do you make hotel/airfare/car reservations without a credit card?
  16. Good choice mate. 1. You keep your integrity. 2. You stop the senseless bloodletting/anal rape/abuse. You did borrow the money and should pay it back. Happily you are choosing to pay it back to someone else with better terms and cutting off the revenue from the crappy CC company. Ef'em. I think the cc laws changed. It is my understanding that they used to be able to change the interest rate to whatever they wanted (up to the specified terms) for no reason. Lots of available credit and competition stopped this from happening. As credit reform swept the nation, the law changed that you had to break a rule (late payment, over limit etc...) in order to cause a change. Before the law went into effect lots of CC companies upped the rates to whatever the limit was.
  17. It doesn't look like a front engined design like the Panamera. I guess we will find out in a few weeks. On a side note and purely speculative, they are talking about heavy use of Carbon Fiber in the chassis. Is the new Porsche supercar (918) going to share chassis with the next R8 and Gallardo?
  18. That sucks. I would imagine Yankee plates and the dude calling were more than he could take. He was probably having a bad night and just cleaned the guts up off the road left by some young family that was going to fast. For sure get a lawyer and have it taken care of.
  19. Sorry if this is a repost, the rumors have been brewing for a bit but this looks a little more conclusive: http://www.leftlanenews.com/porsche-supercar-2014.html Can't imaging a top speed of "only" 186 though, not with 600hp.
  20. I will give you a Bajillion dollars IF you can jump the Grand Canyon, from the North rim visitors center parking lot to the South rim visitors center parking lot on a 20" Huffy Bicycle. While drinking a Bud Light. And birthing a chipmunk. Wearing the crown jewels of England. MAN UP!
  21. We all know how he acts...no need to pretend like we don't get it. It really is part of the fun. Dude, who are you trying to kid? Your car is as far from stock as any that I have seen. Where is your airbag? What kind of stock Elise puts out 500hp? Sequential trans? I don't know anything about your car but it is not your average street Lotus. Even if it is driven on the street. If you are serious about how fast your car is, and that is what started this as far as I can tell, run the Vbox. The other is NOT going to happen. You know that.
  22. Not sure I understand... What you are saying is that you are not going to do a VBox run to show what your car is capable of in a straight line UNLESS someone ponies up to rent a track. Did I get that right? And you KNOW that no one is going to rent a track because we all know that your car will kill a Gallardo set up for the street on pretty much any road course in the US. We also are 99.999% sure that your car is not as quick off the line as you say it is. And you know it isn't. That is why you are saying that you will Vbox it IF. Pretty safe to hide behind the if, because you know it ain't never gonna happen.
  23. What year is the Camaro? How good is a 4.24 60-130 time?
