  1. My buddy commutes to Arizona weekly on US Air and this guy sat next to him in first class. It was around Christmas and the dude was sporting a baby tee that said "Santa's Bitch" and high heels and short shorts with a choke chain necklace. I guess it is his M.O.
  2. Congrats on the race. Where did Melanie place? I had a few laps in a Mustang school car with her. Super nice lady. The outer course looks like a lot of fun. I love it when you go through the Attitudes just right, it is a good feeling. Much better than going through them all wrong. <--- Says the novice.
  3. No More Harry O's? http://www.sltrib.com/sltrib/blogsburger/5...rk-llc.html.csp
  4. I think the important thing here is that if you spend $20k on a night out with skanky women, you better: A. remember it 2. hurt for a couple days after
  5. Your gold LP570-4 Superleggera is BRILLIANT! Congrats on your choices when spec'ing the car. The gold wheels on the SV are terrible. In fact I don't think that color is good on that car either but the wheels stand out like a turd in a punch bowl.
  6. What kind of crap engineering is this? Why do they have an electronic door handle/release but then have a manual emergency release? Why not just do a manual release on the door handle in the first place and save the weight and complexity of redundant systems?
  7. Go for the Whipple, they spank the pulley and tune. Or call Jason.
  8. An enthusiast wouldn't start out the convo with, "What do you do for a living?" or "How much did that thing cost?"
  9. Which will be worth more in 10 years, a 458 Italia with a $275k sticker or this book with a $275k sticker? 20 years? 30?
  10. It might be a bit easier, but... probably still a day or twos work for either for a competent shop. The thing with a positive displacement type supercharger is you get immediate boost way down low. You can come close with a turbo, but it is never going to have the same response.
  11. Some really great cars in that auction.
  12. What did they do to the Bug? Any performance mods or did they just black it out or?
  13. Twin superchargers? Are they stacked or is this bad info? I don't see anything on the website.
  14. Actually, they have been adding it to Google earth. More info here: http://earth.google.com/ocean/
  15. What Roy said. I have worked with a smaller company on moving many cars and after watching him try and deliver cars across the country I have a greater respect for these poor bastards that drive for a living. I have seen the same thing with bigger companies. Think about this: They try and maximize cars on the truck because that is money. So, say you go to say Florida to pick up a car going to New York and only have 4 cars on the truck. This is after a run to Texas. Then your best customer (who happens to be along the route you are on) calls and says, I have a car that will be ready to go in the morning do you have room? Sure, you have room but it puts you behind a day. Customer says, I can throw in a few hundred extra bucks if you can wait. Fuel costs alone to come back down would be a couple hundred bucks. Then you have toll roads and insurance and permits and wear and tear on your rig. So you hole up in a hotel. Go to pick up the car the next day and find they blew a radiator hose testing on the dyno, so you can either stay and wait for the part, or take off and piss off your best customer and have to come back. Your dispatcher tells you that since fuel has gone up 30% in the last month that you better just wait it out because they don't have any other trucks going that direction for a month. So you wait it out and your dispatcher makes up bs to the other customers to cover for you. So what was on time, becomes two days late. This is just the way the business runs. It sucks but unless you can pay for a performance guarantee you are out of luck. The most important thing for me with shipping is that you have a guy that will take care of your car. I have seen some scary stuff going on with many transport companies. It does suck that you have to wait for your baby, but I would try not to be too upset about it.
  16. Anyone have a calendar handy? What day is it?
  17. This is how I know that homeless people are mentally ill. If I was homeless I would move somewhere warm. Every winter there are stories of homeless people frozen to death. You gotta be crazy to not find a ride south during the winter if you don't have a place to live. Hell, I have a place to live and some winters I think I am crazy for staying where it is cold.
  18. The ONLY way I know of to buy and drive cars without paying taxes and licensing is to have a dealer license. This varies by state but... where I am it is the only way. You may be able to approach a small dealer, or a dealer going out of business and pay him to become a sales person and get a plate. Not sure how insurance works, but you would have to cover his cost and liability and make it worth while. There are also 'curbing' or 'curb stoning laws' (at least in this state) that you have to be careful of. How often do you buy and sell cars? How much would you save in tax, title and license? If you could find a guy and pay him $5k a year for a plate would he go for it? Would that be worth it for you and/or him? I talked to a dealer a bit ago but didn't get specific. He brokers cars after selling his lot and getting mostly out of the business. He will maintain his dealers license and flip a well bought car but his main business is buying cars that a client wants. He charges $500-1000 to buy a car at auction for a client. This is the kind of guy that may go for a deal to become a partner and let you use a dealer plate.
  19. "But 99% of I.R.S. auditors are assholes and jealous of anyone with wealth." Shortly after my buddy bought a really nice house in a new neighborhood he was audited. He didn't put that together until he had a conversation with the agent. "That's a really nice house you have over on XXXXXXXXX drive. How are you paying for that house?" Several other details came out that led my buddy to believe that the IRS guy just drove around nice neighborhoods and looked for SOLD signs and then started investigations.
  20. They need to get a serious bit of the Cesto Elemento in the new car. This thing (I know its just some kids pipe dream rendition) is WAY to evolutionary. Need some revolution. Especially if the car is going to hang around for 10 more years.
  21. Looks to me like the sedan got the jump, the G hit the gas just as he is starting to pass and pulls ahead, shifts to the next gear and starts to slow down. The sedan keeps pulling the entire time. The G pulled pretty well before the shift (when he actually had a chance to accelerate). I hate how people always talk about why the car should have been faster. (Three people and 60lbs of fuel is a good reason but...) There are always the "If we didn't have xxxx" or "If our tires would have been xxxxx." statements. Your car runs what it ran. Coulda, woulda, shoulda.
  22. They look great on the car. Structurally they leave me scratching my head.
  23. "Don't be clownin around for the camera, finish those dishes bitch." "But mom..."
