IsleroMan Report post Posted April 7, 2007 MY GOD! What a story! Best of luck with the resto. Damn, that almost brought a tear to my eye. I bet it did to you when you found it so neglected. What idiots. Glad to see another will be saved. Maybe if all the ones still out there get restored, there will be a surplus and prices will plummet, allowing me to get one again. PSpintoVeloce Report post Posted April 7, 2007 Thanks all for the encouraging words. I'm really excited about this whole thing, naturally. I received an update today from the shop (as well as information that they already blew through the $15k deposit) and lots is underway already. Yes, to say that we were upset with the previous shop is a tremendous understatement. The guy is a real crook, despite the shop's apparently good reputation, though a lot of people seem to have had negative experiences with him (including one guy who said "I wouldn't trust my lawn mower to that guy!"). Even the tow truck driver was a veteran at extracting cars from that shop, and had been there just six weeks early to yank out a different Miura. But, part of the settlement was a stipulation that we remain hush-hush about slander and whatnot, so that's all I'm going to say. You would be even more upset if you had seen what the car looked like when it arrived. Fresh paint, fully restored chassis, new brakes, suspension, everything. All that remained was to assemble the gearbox, and put everything back together. I hope to eventually scan and upload the "before" pictures from 1990. So I'll keep the page up to date as things materialise. Oh! And don't forget to let me know if you're interested in a Miura shirt. PSpintoVeloce Report post Posted April 7, 2007 Oh also, does anyone know anything about lambo-talk? i tried to join but experienced technical problems and couldn't get through even using the "contact us" button because "the spam verification word was incorrect". Can anyone help? Thanks a google

PSpintoVeloce Report post Posted June 6, 2007 What a labor of love. Yea, that or lunacy, too early to say yet. In other news, I updated the page again today. It's been a while bc I've been buried in work. I also added pix of what the car looked like when it arrived in California. Really helps you see how much it's deteriorated and how much we have to thank our friends in Gilroy. the link again: http://www.stanford.edu/~dtscott/
PSpintoVeloce Report post Posted August 2, 2007 Another update. The updates on the bodywork are coming forthwith-ish. It was a rather depressing visit. Lots of rust. Anyway, the link's in several posts above.
