Advice on an SV

My DB9 Volante is now up for sale and ive decided to go for it and purchase my first and favorite lambo, the diablo but now ive looked into seriously purchasing one ive noticed how many there are and how confusing it all is! 12 production models and 16 "special" production models, ive narrowed it down to an sv, well i think so anyway, there's just too many to choose from and every picture of an sv i look at is different, some i really like and some i don't, i know later ones had more power but do later ones have a facelift to? what options should i look out for such as sport packs or anything like that as i know the se30 jota has a different engine to the regular se30 but its only an "option" not a different car. Also any common MAJOR problems to look out for in sv's?of course i expect to probably pay quite high on regular services and the occasional problem or else i wouldn't be looking into purchasing a classic lambo but I'm a bit of a newbie to the diablo scene so any help would be appreciated.

By the way if anyone in the U.K is interested in a DB9 Volante 4500 miles 06 plate PM me for more details.

If your budget allows it, a '99 SV is the way to go; Facelift and new interior. :icon_thumleft:

agree

and do not buy one of those ugly purple SE30 JOTA!!! :lol2:

Found a 97 with 12k miles £83,990 which is $168,392 at the moment, thats well within budget, the astons for sale at £106,000. If i could find a jota i would buy without a dought, heard its a pretty raw and awesome car and i love the colour its different.

That's a '99, and at pistonheads its £76,995. What's the mileage on it?

If you do come by a Jota, buy it in a heartbeat :icon_thumleft:

How about a pre-98 SV ?

- A little more raw and lightweight. No adjustable shock lifting system !

I also think 99 is the way to go. But what about Allan's 98 SV... still for sale and only driven to church on Sundays by a little old lady.

I think this guy prefers driving from the right seat :icon_mrgreen:

i'm looking for a pretty raw diablo so pre 98 sv?if i wanted a nice looking comfortable sports car i'd be keeping the aston but ive really got into cars in the last few years and giving up yachting has unlocked alot of cash which is always good as cars are money pits really. I looked into a gallardo or murci but just not a real lambo for me not raw and untamed enough. I wouldn't really want to import to the U.K either so preferably a U.K car but if the right one came up i.e a jota or a vttt or something like that then i'd consider it.

I thought a Euro (RoW) 97 SV, did not have the shock lifting system. I am not talking about U.S. cars.

There is a yellow SE30 for sale at Lambo Hong Kong, maybe it's RHD? I don't think it's a Jota though.

I'm going to my local dealer tomorrow, lamborghini london, they only have g's/murci's in stock but im going to see what they can maybe source, would they possibly be able to source the car from lamborghini hong kong anyone know?i couldn't find the car on their site?diablo's don't seem to change hands all that often ive noticed, g's and murci's are everywhere but diablo's arn't easy to find, especialy the right one, i'l probably end up getting one and giving it a respray, body changes etc the fact that there's so many diablo variations just makes the choices endless, bit of an adventure actualy just trying to find one, walking into a dealer and walking out with the car the same day would just be boring :icon_pray:

A dealer can find you anything, from a classic 350GT to a brand new Murcielago roadster. However I think you will find better long term results, if you consult a few Diablo specialists. It may be worth your time, to contact the local U.K. Lamborghini club, and attempt to contact a few long term owners of Diablo autos. Ask those same long term Diablo owners, if they know of any nice cars for sale. Most likely these same members, will mentor you through the entire buying process. I would assume, most authorized L dealers, do not have all that much experience with a Diablo ?

You said it yourself, that they have just modern cars in their inventory. I also think an enthusiast, will likely take care of you better, and help guide you towards only good cars to consider. A lot of the enthusiasts, know the long term history, of quite a few of the Diablo autos in the U.K. - They can help you sort thru all the different cars on the market. The dealer is only going to consider his bottom line.

The flip side works the same way: I would not want to buy a modern Lamborghini, from a used car dealer who specializes in just classics.

:iamwithstupid: And the president of Lambo UK club owns an SE30. Also, I didn't find the SE30 at Lambo HK, try to PM Kevin, I'm sure that he knows if the car is still up for sale.

thanks for the advice guys appreciate it, i'l have a word with my dealer tomorrow, failing that il try to contact a few owners through a U.K club, idealy i would like to do it privately as i may come across something pretty special maybe a tt diablo or whatever the case or an interestingly customised one which dealers probably stay away from. In the mean time if anyone does come up with anything please let me know  one thing i really want though is a test drive, ive learnt that your perception of what a car is going to be like to drive and own is very different to reality, the only lambo ive ever driven was an lp640 at thruxton, amazing car, not something id fall in love with though, to me the diablo is the epitome of a lambo, the looks, the madness. Just hopeing i can fact the perfect one for me.

Sounds like an SE30 Jota is the car you need :icon_mrgreen:

Raw, uncompromising, brutal and bloody fast :icon_super:

Good luck with the search!

The jota's been the one ive wanted from the start but the likelyhood of finding one seems pretty rare, definetely the car for me though if i do find one i'l snap it up :icon_thumleft:

The Yellow 1999 SV Diablo for sale belongs to me. PM sent.

The discrepency in mileage is because I still drive the car and the dealer has not updated his website.

Mileage currently stands at just over 13,000. The car can be had for £74,995 and condition is immaculate.

Baby Daughter forces very reluctant sale.

Warren.

That car is sold long time ago, RHD, Yellow exterior, Cream & Purple interior, 23404km back in 2004.
