Allan-Herbie Report post Posted August 7, 2008 I just took a look at Acichellis Vbox times... on pump gas, his 60-100mph time is virtually identical to the Veyron. On Pump gas, just 60-100 he is 1/2 second faster!

ostoneman Report post Posted August 8, 2008 Hmm.....Allan, dont these 60-130 times of the veyron appear to be the same as the top two silly supras... i.e. 4.5s. These times with TWO passengers make the veyron a hard car to match no? The 0-150 with two seats taken is prettttty fast!! The Veyron is certainly fast, but if you look at Acichellis 60-100 time, it is a 1/2 second faster in gear than the Veyron. The Veyrons biggest advantage is its 2.5 sec 0-60. Taking away that advantage, and if Acichelli was to meet a Veyron at say highway speeds, the Gallardo will pull away. From a dead stop, the Veyron is hard to match. lee Report post Posted August 9, 2008 You are really clinging to that 1 foot rollout arent you? I´m with allan, the big advantage of the veyron is it´s traction and it´s torque.
veyron83 Report post Posted August 9, 2008 hi i also found the info that the veyron hermes edition should be much slower than a normal veyron because of it´s weight. Is this true as i cannot find more details about extra weight of the hermes edition thanks
lambornima Report post Posted August 9, 2008 You are really clinging to that 1 foot rollout arent you? makes a pretty big difference in the 0-60 times. its the reason why the euro mags seemed so much slower to 60 than the US ones. lambornima Report post Posted August 11, 2008 It does? And how do YOU know that for fact? Aaron himself said that it takes about 0.3 seconds off the 0-60 time. and indeed the next week I saw a test from Edmunds (featuring the GTR, EVO, Elise, etc) and the 0-60 times listed with and without it were indeed all separated by 0.3 seconds. It also explains why the 0-62 mph (100 km/h) time the euro mags get for the Plastic mess-06 seems so much off the pace (up to half a second) off the 0-60 mph times of the US ones (also the fact that the Plastic mess-06 needs to shift before 100 km/h). the only reason I mentioned it was because it makes it that much more impressive if the Japanese tested the Veyron using euro methods. it sounds like im irritating you again though but I was surprised how many people didnt know about this (including myself), though it explains a lot of the discrepancies between US and Euro mags. ostoneman Report post Posted August 11, 2008 Actually I had no idea you guys were still running 0-60?? We were 0-60 until about 15yrs ago, then it became 0-62 to even out between the rest of the world. And yes, the official veyron times are to 62, the fastest being 2.46 I believe, set by the test driver.

But you are not Aaron... So Aaron may be able to argue the point not you, nor do you know how they went about testing the car. Also, one of the Youtube styled shows recently did a test at the 1/4 with a Gtech, the 1/4 and the phone dyno thing. Guess which is the most off in numbers from the real 1/4 mile run? emilio Report post Posted August 11, 2008 veyron is still king of acceleration times and speed, period nothing in stock form come close (the koenisseg CCXXRRCPT may it be almost as fast or even better in the perfect launch-day-track....but on an average launch and real life the Veyron is king...i also have the feeling the bugatti is a MUCH more reliable car) the TTG is otherwise an interesting car that has both the exotic look and almost untouchable performance (not to mention it is a "feather weight" compared to the bugatti and should be more nimble and more fun to drive)

The prestige and opulent luxury of the car and the marque. Precision milled instruments and buttons, the Bug could be a hell of a lot lighter than what it is but the quality would not be there and it would be just another Koenseigg cxirieoscxxrrse. Take two drivers, both drive from London to Monaco, one in a Veyron and one in a koenigsegg. One driver will be relatively fresh and relaxed ready to mingle, the other if he gets there at all will feel like he has spent a week in a cell with sex starved man nicknamed bubba and then he would have to park behind the casino.
