Kevin2772 Report post Posted August 24, 2010 So a friend and I were discussing this and I was just curious if there is a big difference in the interior noise in the standard G versus the Superleggera? Does the carbon fiber cause it to echo much more and does that affect the quality of the ride any significant amount. Also, does the carbon interior in the Super G affect the stereo sound at all between the two cars?

PCJR Report post Posted August 24, 2010 My regular 07 coupe to my current 08 SL - I actually find the SL is quiter/ more dead, due to the Alcantara. I noticed this as soon as I drove the car. Also, with the alcantara there is no sun reflection off of the dash through the front windshiled, the leather at times was a bit anoying. The exhaust is a bit louder but nothing offensive but I don't think it has anything to do with the interior materials.
webster132 Report post Posted August 24, 2010 560 to 570SL there's not much of a difference, if any. You'd have to do back-to-back to detect a difference, I think.

djantlive Report post Posted August 25, 2010 the exhaust is where it matters!! anyone worried about road noise or stiff suspension should not be driving a SL.
Gallardopete Report post Posted August 25, 2010 I moved from 560 Spyder to 570SL. I think there's a bit more noise maybe due the plastic rear windows etc. The exhaust is identical v the 560, just different tips.
kmr Report post Posted August 25, 2010 Its just the rear window and bonnet cover that are plastic correct? Drive/passenger are glass correct?
Pokie Report post Posted August 25, 2010 Its just the rear window and bonnet cover that are plastic correct? Drive/passenger are glass correct? Both front and rear quarter windows are also made with plastic.
TRANSAMERA Report post Posted August 25, 2010 A bit more creeking comes from all the CF bits, centreconsole expecially.
LAUTLOS Report post Posted August 25, 2010 > A bit more creeking comes from all the CF bits, centreconsole expecially. Mine doesn't creak at all. And that is with 16k miles, including a 3,400 mile road trip to back roads in the Four Corners area that were rough enough to loosen the bolts holding down the air filter top covers... In fact, without any creaking whatsoever I did get to listen to an annoying sound made by the handbrake, but only after an hour or two of driving. The shop has managed to fix it during my recent 15k service -- yay. Which means that I now get to hear yet another sound -- the one made by coolant when it travels to the front and back. It is fun to vary that sound with the throttle.
